Unable to save the game

Post » Wed Jun 22, 2011 1:19 pm

I am not usually turning to forums by posting, only be reading as 95% of the time I find what I need just by reading up, but I have looked for a solution for quite some days now.
So the situtation is the following:
I have a UK DVD version of Fallout 3 installed plus Broken steel DLC. Whenever I try to save, the game says it did the save, but when I check it didn't save anything.
Before that I had MODs installed, so I thought that is the problem, but after turning them off, the problem remained.
What I have tried: Starting a completely new game and saving. This seemingly worked. I managed to save the new game, and afterwards, loading my old game I managed to make a savegame or two, but after starting the game the next time, I was again not able to save.
I really would not like to start a completely new game and discontinue this one. I tried also the console command GameSave, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?
My config is:
Windows 7 64 bit, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT, I have patch 1.7 and updated video drivers.

I have installed live once, but I believe I have since reinstalled fallout 3 several times as there were other issues with it before I got it to work.
Why, if I was, what would change?

because if you saved while logged on to LIVE, you HAVE to log on to LIVE everytime. I found that out recently too

It is not LIVE. If I log in I don't have any option to load.

Perhaps checking your key-map settings to see that Esc is the correct key?

You will have to explain this in a little bit more detail as I don't really get what this has to do with the not being able to save. I don't have the ESC key assigned in the game to anything, I am using the default keys.
