[RELz] UNAR - Unique Armours Retextured

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 7:53 pm

That's what I meant. :)
To put it more clearly: I would make 2 versions, and I want both to be balanced, so there's twice as much work. :)

Perhaps you could wait until you have all the unique models done with first, then you could worry about the stats?

Yeah... that would have been a good idea if I didn't have 35 items left. ;)

First WiP for V2:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/F3/EnvironmentSuit.jpg
Up-armoured military rad-suit.

I used the radsuit/Enclave Scientist Outfit (they share models) and added a standard combat armour chest piece and shoulderpads. I re-textured the radsuit to a faded green, inspired by the soviet OZK suit. The armoured parts still use the vanilla texture and I'm thinking of leaving it like that. It's put together by a wastelander, so s/he (no spoilers ;)) would use available parts.

Going to tackle the Vault 77 suit now, I have big plans...

200 years old, scarred, damaged and dirty.

Oy, weight painting is a nightmare... The skin isn't done, and I haven't finished the female version, but here it is for peer review. :)

Hmm, I think it's good. Maybe not completely recognizable as a vault suit, but it's still cool.

Also, the Environment suit IS AWESOME.

the vault 77 suit should have a vaultboy puppet as a glove and one of the vault boots(with blood on it)

I don't think the hand puppet is a really good idea, but it would indeed look more scarred if it had a single boot.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4064. Not mine. It's placed next to the 77 suit though.

Putting a single boot on could be interesting. I'll look into it when I get back from work. :)

Maybe for Dr. Li's outfit you could make it Rivet City Security Black with a white inner shirt and black tie. That'd be cool.

Low modding activity lately, largely due to http://screenshot.xfire.com/screenshot/natural/d52d0c342162104e8f0be557ec54ac261c9163db.png. When comparing Fo3 and ME, Fallout can just go jump in a lake. :D
ME isn't moddable though...

Maybe for Dr. Li's outfit you could make it Rivet City Security Black with a white inner shirt and black tie. That'd be cool.

I could do that, the white lab coat is the traditional look for a scientist though.
I've had the idea to splice the vault lab coat onto one of the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Pre-War_Outfit and retexturing that, but we'll see.

I've done a small amount of work. Been doing some other Fo3 related stuff, in addition to playing Mass Effect 2 twice in a row, so...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/DoctorLisOutfit.jpg. I spliced together the Vault scientist outfit with the pre-war dress. The skins are still original which needs to change, and I haven't checked it out in-game yet (waiting for FWE 5.0 to reinstall Fo3), but it looks like it should be ok. Still need to do the male variant as well.
I'm going to put an extra outfit in her room, since you can't get hers without reverse-pickpocketing her. I could also add a dress without the labcoat, just because I'd have the skin good to go anyway.

Also still working on the 77-suit, but I'm having some difficulties with it, both creative and technical.

Edit: Updated the screenshot with the male model, and did a colour test for the female version. The white coat needs a more subdued dress or it looks washed-out IMO.

Current WiP's:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/F3/DefenderArmor.jpg
Taking a cue from raiders, one wasteland mercenary has apparently decided to significantly up-armour his leather outfit.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/F3/DoctorLisOutfit.jpg
Dr Li is a classy lady, but she's also sensible enough to wear a labcoat when working around dangerous chemicals. The outfits are also available without the coat.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/F3/All-PurposeScienceSuit.jpg
The Enclave has recognized the need for more radiation protection for exploration teams, and has reinforced one of their protective suits.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/F3/CommandoArmor.jpg
Sometimes, long sleeves are just too darn hot.

I'm debating whether to retexture the Science Suit to match the regular Enclave uniforms, ie making it tan instead of white. Any comments on that?

Not sure. I'm planning to finish the outfits I'm working on now, and perhaps a few more, and then go back and work on my Reilly's Rangers mod.
I'll probably never do ALL the uniques. I'm to ambitious to just do a black retex of everything (something that seems to be popular on the nexus ;) ) and call it done, so every item takes quite a lot of time.

Love the Defender armor - anything made of tires is always fun for some Mad Max action. :)

Reinstalled Fo3 after a bit of a break, and I'm going to see about finishing up the WiPs a least. I have a few (lots really) of ideas for other outfits too, but I want to focus on getting a new version out the door.

I always pictured the medic power armor being white with a red cross. Kinda like the medics from Starcraft Brood War. Oh well XD

Nice job!

New Screenie for the sleeved combat armour: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/Tubal/F3/TalonCombatArmor.jpg. Still not entirely sure it's going to get a Talon texture, but it's likely.
Going to finish up the WiP's with proper dismemberment now, and start adjusting stats etc in the ESP.

My interpretation is that it isn't armour for medics, but that the armour is a medic in itself. Also, white armour is daft on a battlefield. :P

That had always been my interpretation as well - given the actual function of the armor.
