So.. Unarmed attack confiremed or not?

Post » Wed Sep 28, 2011 11:44 pm

Qoute:

?Player kills a thief and gets 'Gloves of the Pugilist' which grants +15 to unarmed attacks. He tests them by knocking off a huge portion of health from his attacker. He then attempts a power attack: "I grab him, he disappears off screen, there's a sickening crunch and I drop his limp body to the dirty ground". A finishing move perhaps?

so there is a skill for that or no?

Not a Skill, just a hide "Stat" that changes trough enchantments and etc... But not by training.

It's tied to Heavy Armor. It has it's own perk.

They're not going to be changing a major mechanic like that this close to launch. Basically, if we've seen it, the perk is confirmed.

They are +15 to unarmed attack damage, not to any skill.

Just because an item says "+15 to unarmored attacks" doesn't mean it gives an increase to a particular skill. It just means that the damage you deal with those particular gloves will be your base damage +15. It's as simple as that.

Are you listining to yourself? It doesn't sound right. 15+ to Unarmed DAMAGE.

+ There is a Perk in Heavy Armor for H2H, so maybe H2H damage is tied to it.

Er... no. But there IS a H2H perk in heavy armour, as have been stated.

The Perk simply makes heavy armor increase H2H damage based on Quality. For all we know, there could be perks that up H2H as a whole.

You don't know any more then I do, who are any of you to say I'm wrong?

No.

The perk, as seen at demos, says that it increases unarmed damage based on the armor rating of your gauntlets. Not very ambiguous.

And apparently we all know what was posted in this forum over the past week, and has since been published in PC Gamer as a list of perks. So yes, you're wrong.

Yeah, there is a perk in heavy armour for hand-to-hand,but i'm not sure it will be tied to it.....I wouldn't like that....it should be tied to something else, not heavy armour. We haven't seen the light armour perks yet either.

There is an unarmed skill, why would you think they would take it out?

We don't know how the tree looks, but my best guess is that the Hand-to-Hand perk won't require any other perks.

Okay, I guess I'll be that guy that joins the discussion and doesn't know what's going on but where did this quote come from? It would help if you gave the source of the quote.

Skyrim has never had an unarmed skill tree. The combat is still totally possible, but they've just tied it to enchantments and perks instead of a skill tree.

That's what I meant, it was a typo A$$hole.

The Unarmed damage is increased based on the Quality of the Gauntlets.

There STILL COULD BE ANOHER PERK SOMEWHERE. Sammuthegreat even said he couldn't see every single perk in all of the trees, even the ones he wrote down.

Don't talk down to me, you have no Idea what content is in the game anymore then I do and we're free to predict.

Sorry, next time I'll take responsibility for your inability to construct a coherent thought in English.

No one ever said that there couldn't be another perk somewhere (maybe in the unknown Light Armor tree), but there is no skill for unarmed combat.

You might want to speak to someone about anger issues.

There won't be any perk that only raises unarmed damage. The only tree we don't know that might have a perk is Light Armor, and the perk would have to somehow tie into fighting unarmed while wearing light armor. So there's no way there's a perk that's only tied to hand-to-hand combat. And even that seems unlikely, because the perk in Heavy Armor would always grant more damage than a Light Armor perk for increasing damage.
