Unarmed Combat - Khajiit

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 4:02 pm

I recently made a Khajiit character and discovered to my delight that she has claws that do extra damage as opposed to fists. Is there a way to "level" your unarmed combat? If possible is it through one-handed or something? If not that makes me a sad panda, but it would be nice.

Oh and does anyone else who has a Khajiit character use unarmed a lot? thanks.

There is a perk under heavy armor that does extra unarmed damage if you are wearing gauntlets.

It can't be leveled.

However, there are ways to icnrease it.

There's an enchantment from gloves in the Ratworks of Riften that can be learned to increase unarmed damage, and there's a heavy armour perk to increase damage according to the armour rating of your gloves.

It doesn't level up, but there's a perk in the heavy armor tree that adds your gauntlets armor rating to unarmed damage and heavy armor DOES level up. So there's still hope for you :). Also, there is an enchantment that increases unarmed damage.

The only point of unarmed now is for brawls. At least you'll be able to win those easily.

Even without a skill or attributes, they could have given hand-to-hand and unarmored bonuses from raising your HP/Stamina. Like how raising Stamina also increases your maximum carrying capacity.

Take heavy armor perk and level heavy armor, that will improve your unarmed damage output. Unarmed in Skyrim depends on a few skills to be viable, notably heavy armor, smithing (for better gauntlets), enchanting (for unarmed enchantments), and alchemy (to improve the previous 2 skills prior to use). Totally viable build. I recommend it.

Is it worth leveling my heavy armor skill to do? Ive already put 3 perk points into Light Armor before I found out about this.

Heavy armor!

Get fist of steel perk and wear the high AR gauntlets you can find then improve them to legendary.

I'd say so, yeah. Unarmed characters that take advantage of every perk that helps them (Fist of Steel, Well Fitted, Matching Set) hit pretty hard, and fast, too. You can still wear light armor with heavy gauntlets, if you want, but you'll never be as tough as if you were wearing heavy armor, head-to-toe. If you want to wear light armor, I'd suggest decking yourself out in heavy armor once in a while and letting yourself get hit my a mudcrab over and over to bioost your skill. Takes a while to do naturally wearing only heavy gauntlets.

You can also enchant some pieces of gear to increase unarmed damage.

If you get the Fists of Steel perk, heavy armor basically becomes your "unarmed" skill

Pathetic I say. THey did a crap job with it in Oblivion and Fallout and got bested by Obsidian, who did an amazing job with H2H and made it extremely viable, so they decided to axe it so they don't have to worry about it.

I love Skyrim but I think I might agree with you on this = / Why even give us the bonus from Khajiit claws if they give us comparably few options to utilize it?
