Unarmed option-thoughts wanted

I really hope this doesn't turn into a bunch of Spider-Men spraying bullets randomly. It doesn't make sense to be doing a will climb or something of that sort and being able to shoot at someone as accurately as if you were standing or even running...

For as far we know, the option to put your gun away isn't there, so it would be impossible to map a button for it.

If you want speed, Light will be indeed the way to go. I don't think Lights should engage in any main battle, except to support their team or surprise the other one. Lights are probably more for one v one, flanking and rushing to certain objectives.

You can play any class with any bodytype and vice versa, you don't NEED to go operative if you're light, nor do you NEED to be a light if you are playing as a light. You can choose freely.

Agreed straight up firefights shouldn't be the modus operendi of any light except those with a suicide complusion.

i know you dont have to be an operative as a light but the way i see it a light soldier wouldnt do much good on the frontlines would he?

Engineer and medic yeah thats ok but i think if your a light guy then the best way to make use of it is to be an operative, quickly getting to an objective then interrogate a guy or something? but again i think of moving quicker if i was unarmed

In terms of a straight up firefight sure but all the other classes have plenty of room for lights to excel.

Soldier: Fast HE plants. Lobbing grenades from light only areas. Be able to readily resupply teammates with ammo.
Engineer: Interesting options for mines and turrets. Having a turret in a light only area cuts off enemy lights use. Bufff teammates guns.
Medic: Need a revive he can get it to you fastest same with healing or buffs,

Can you shoot someone with a short rifle while you do a wall hop? That seems super human to me.

Like quicking scoping would be? After the wallhop not during.

OP greeting and salutations from the High Priest.

i heard somewhere that a heavy cant make use of the SMART system at all, only running and jumping manually i dont remember where though sorry =/

A heavy can mantle waist high obstacles. SMART will let you use the heavy and not get stuck on random crap. And jumping will let you climb a little higher. So whoever said that is full of crap.

that sounds more plausible than what i heard, when i did hear that it totally put me off wanting to be a heavy

HAHAHA Wallhop to quickscope would be the most annoying exploit EVER. You know SP won't be having any of that.

I like this idea. I think it would be best suited for a custom games/ private match option. Not matchmaking. If they made it only possible in private matches, then i would like it

Indeed the wallhop over someone then finish team. Sneak up on a heavy unload with the pistol then wallhop over him as he turns and finish with the knife.

The heavy has MORE health. Move weapon options. Starts off with more buffs. So a heavy medic could be healing his team left and right. But a light medic could get to his team faster. It's all in preferences. They will be balanced. It's all about your playstyle. If you're a decent shot, fearless, wanna be a team player, and carry the big gun then be a heavy. If you're a sneaky bastard that likes to flank and rush then be a light. But the light can die easy so you better be good at moving. I myself usually get flanked when I flank so I stick with the team. I'll be a good heavy. The medium is a nice go between.

I have seen maybe one or two posts by SD devs here in a few months now, but they mostly hang out over at the SD forums, and will freely respond to threads when they feel like it.

I plan on mainly playing Heavies, but I do want to (attempt) to model a Medium after myself, in terms of looks.

Occasionally but they mostly kick over at their own forums.
