It would slow down gameplay. Everyone would take cover then get out their gun for a fight.

BC2 does something like this, where if you sprint, you can't aim your gun, and when you come out of sprint, you have to wait like a second before your gun comes back on screen and you can shoot again. I HATE this feature - It's like, "well, you can run. but we're gonna punish you for it." Why? It's running? Not exactly a wallhack or an aimbot...

They apparently aren't giving weapons weight that affect movement speed, so holstering weapons to move faster seems pointless.

Yeah, i would think that if they wanted to go with this route, they would first implement gun weights. Since running with a Heavy weapon is the same speed as running with a pistol, and anything in between, I wouldn't expect a holstered or shouldered gun to be different.

I switch to pistol when I run. The pistol comes up way faster in that game after sprinting. Just a helpful tip.

EDIT: Or either of the two one handed engineer weapons seem to come up real fast too. All the weapons have "mobility" scores. You can find the stats online. Anything high mobility and you can jump much higher and bring it to sight faster.

Well, the engineer guns only apply to engineer (duh) so that doesn't really help the other classes.

there are no "engineer guns" , there are light guns, medium guns and heavy guns, plus secondaries of each (iirc)

You have to sacrifice something for increased movement speed, imo.

I think it should make a difference. Simply because running with something (big) in your hands is insanely more difficult than running without carrying something.

If equip speed is changed by the heft of a weapon then bringing it to bear accurately while sprinting or moreso after slowing down should be affected by the same values. If I have a small pistol I should be able to shoot someone before they aim their rifle at me as I'm running around.

I don't care if I can't shoot and sprint, although I do prefer it, but if I can't shoot while sprinting, at the very least, I should have my gun become available the moment I stop sprinting, not have some split-second "cooldown" effect.

You should be able to start shooting right away, but with a properly reduced accuracy, as you didn't take your time to aim properly.

I think that might actually slow gameplay down, because when you run into people you would have to take cover and pull your gun out, instead of being able to shoot at any time like SD wants.

i dont see it slowing the game down, removing your weapon you gain speed but take the risk of getting jumped when unarmed so its balanced out it has a pro and a con i think this could be really good for the game if put in

Even if they put it in, it would seem rather useless to me since you can sprint and shoot anyways.
