Undead Glass Berserker Mod & Resource

by Melchior Dahrk

Inspired by a speedpainting posted by http://pastwiska.tumblr.com/ on tumblr, I created a creature based on it. I've always associated glass equipment with the undead since the first time I saw glass weapons was in http://i.imgur.com/qOn8e5U.jpg where a skeleton is wielding a glass waraxe - at the time, I assumed they were some sort of "ghost weapon" made from ectoplasm. So pastwika's artwork really resonated with me and this mod and resource was conceived.

There are two ESPs you can choose from: basic and enhanced.

  • With either ESP you'll start encountering the Undead Glass Berserker in tombs around lvl 30.

  • The enhanced version also includes an anti-theft provision in Dronos Llervu's shop in the Lower Level of Ghostgate's Tower of Dusk. Credit to http://phonographzerohash.tumblr.com/ on tumblr for that great idea! In their words, this module would have the berserker "show up and kill your grubby cheating hands if you try to steal the glass armor at Ghostfence."

Use a Leveled List merger.

This is a modder's resource. Free to use - both ESPs and all meshes.

the anti-theft provision is simply amazing (and I must admit unexpected). Is the skeleton beatable?

Glad you guys like it. Have fun with it!

Yes it is. Probably not actually THAT tough - though I have not thoroughly tested it. I was playing with a character with pretty low stats. But the anti-theft protection also makes it so that you have to buy those items even after you defeat the berserker...

Anyway, I don't understand one thing: I admit I've never saw that room and consequentially I've never tried to steal that stuff. But wouldn't you be getting a crime for stealing these? Or is the person inside the room not watching you at all ?

Why you don't like folders? I mean, what is a reason MD doesn't create specify folder for his wonderful creatures? It's a lot of mess in the my "meshes" )))

There's a glitch in Morrowind where if your head is in the ceiling then NPCs won't detect it when you steal something. Works particularly well in Dronos' shop and has often been exploited. I made it impossible to steal the items but copied them into a new container for Dronos to sell from.

Thanks!

Lol. Two reasons: 1) I couldn't think of a sub-folder name that I liked and 2) it was primarily meant as a modder's resource so I couldn't be bothered! :D

Wow Melchior, this is really awesome. Props to pastwika for the concept and you to for the implementation!

It reminds me a lot of the http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/the-most-beautiful-dead-photographs-of-jeweled-skeletons I'd like to see such enemies more in games. Maybe I should stop by Province: Cyrodiil and mention how cool it could be to see jeweled skeletons in the catacombs beneath the IC.

Anywho, this is a great design. Thanks for the work you put into it, Melchior!

Thanks, Fiore! And you're welcome. :)

And you should throw that idea at them - it's been pretty quiet over there as of late. I agree that those bejeweled skeletons seem like they could fit in with the Cyrodilic theme!

It looks really great! I wonder if it would be possible to script it so the items disappear if you buy them from the trader.
