Under the sign of the dragon -Tamriel Landscapes-

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:52 am

Just saw the UL gridmap as well and The River Strid is going to take up a huge portion of Valenwood and Elsweyr indeed. And it defenitely touches all the cells around Arenthia. I didn't know UL mods stretched out beyond the borders of Cyrodiill that far.

Anyway, let's worry about that later.

Normally UL mods don't stretch beyond the borders like that, Strid is an exception due to the high quality of Carel's previous creations :) But as I said, the map does not show definite cell edits, only those originally intended a year and a half ago.

Hey Vorians, I saw your previously reply after I already posted mine. And I agree that the best thing to do is just to wait and see what happens, without worrying about compatabilty stuff already. Nevertheless, I think that Arthenia is so close to Cyrodiills border that chances are very high there will be overlaps there.

And I also agree that Carel de Winter is an artist when it comes to landscape design. :)

Than you haven't got all the files. The summerset.esp is in the Tamriel Heightmaps Summerset Isles file. The link is in the part you quoted.

If it wasn't there... I don't think a double-check will render a different outcome. Double-download? :P

hey :-)...

just keep in mind...every heightmap comes in two files...the main file which is called for example "Summerset" Heightmap ...and the LOD Resources...both are required for playing it ingame....the heightmaps are modular but I would recommend to use the Summerset heightmap together with the Valenwood heightmap...so you can use pilotable ships to sail to Summerset or even to sail from Anvil to Leyawiin arround Valenwood and Elsweyr....

thx guys for supporting :-)

Man !

Kudos mate and kudos to all that are in on this. It's totaly awsome.
I wish I was up to a standad where I could help I have heaps time but no enough knowledge of the lore or the skill to make the stuff, I'm jus a leech and
build from resources hack that can just barley get a building or interior together, scripting is cut in past if I'm given the text.

@Onra

Probley jus me,.. but one thing I noticed while wondering round, the wee spiral trees stairs was one place where I got hung a little, it not like you can
use W and slip right up em a,.. that not to take away from a realy realy choice job, man I was buzzed out, I even got the bash from a raider lol she didn't
make it,.. sorry

Thank you so much for all the hard work and help getting it working

Jus a thought,.. the Eldanorcara Project was spose to be a large mod being done can't remember if it's Oblivion or Morrwind now but if it's fallen over
and it Oblivion maybe they be happy to have the resouses put to good use, there was some real beautiful Elven stuff done there

Thank again

Cheers

@ Kiwi_Hawk

thx :-)

if you just want to have a look in the CS....as ishmaeltheforsaken wrote...it's all in the tamriel worldspace...to locate Firsthold in the CS ...load both esp's open the region editor ( world/region/tamriel )....look for the Firsthold region....rightclick some cell of this region ...then choose "view world here" from the opening window...

keep in mind that wrye bash is required if you want to make your own mods depending on the heightmaps

Working on this,.. it's new to me so I'm not quite getting it yet,.. get areas but not Firsthold yet

Is there a 101 tut for this,.. never use Bash with CS before

...for wrye bash

1. open wrye bash

2. right click the heightmap esp you want to use for modding ( for example Summerset esp)....btw this works wirth every other esp the same way

3. from the opening window click Esmify Self ...then OK

4. close wyre bash and open your CS

5. load your heightmap esp ...you will notice that it is displayed now as a masterfile !

6. make your edits...whatever you want to do do in your mod

7. exit and save ( giving your file a proper name)...your mod has now the heightmap added as a masterfile

8. open wrye bash again ...rightclick your mod esp...from the opening window click Espify Masterfiles..Ok

9. close wrye bash..and test/play your mod ingame

Note ! Every time you want to edit your mod you have to esmify the master file(s) and everytime you want to play or test it ingame you have to espify the masterfiles...!!!!!!

hope this helps

does this mean ingame or in the CS ?

please decribe a bit more exactly what you want to do...which heightmap do you want to use....if you you want to mod Valenwood/Elsweyr you have to esmify all 3 required files ( Valenwood.esp, ElsweyrAnequina.esp, Valenwood_Anequina_Patch.esp)

did you install the LOD Resources ?

Dis you do what I did at first?

I went looking with jus summerset loaded trying to find Onra's work,.. to do this you need Summerset Landscapes loaded too

Summerset.esp is just the High Map / base file to set up landscape I believe, Summerset Landscapes has his mod stored in it

Sorry if I'm wrong.

While I'm here how would I best use the _far files I understand theyer for distance views or LOD views is it?

opps forgot,.. guess theres no ingame map of this area yet for fast travel markers

right....

Summerset esp ( Tamriel heightmaps) containes the landmass and the region data (trees, rocks, grass, etc )

Summerset Landscapes.esp containes the beta version of the city of Firtsthold

to get a proper lod for the summerset Landscapes you have to install the Tamriel Landscape Lod Resources...the meshes and textures folder must go in your data folder..let overwrite everything when asked....then run Tes4LodGen...everything is now visible from the distant...looks really impressive when you reach Summerset by ship...
