I've been looking all over the place for something like this. Thanks!

I'd recommend PJ's Spell Compendium. I don't know if it's an underdog, but in these heady days of Midas Magic it has a few spells that you still can't get anywhere else. Ignore all the flashy stuff from PJs because Midas has blown the doors off on flashy. Instead, get Corpse Traversal, Telvanni Lift, and Swap. Utility spells that any mage will be happy to have. Especially in FCOM where running is always a valid option.

I'd also (*ahem*) suggest a few more people go download the stuff in my sig. ;)

I've just got SI (finally). Thanks for the book jackets. Haven't been able to check it ingame yet, but from the screens, they look fantastic.

Ok here are a couple that I haven't heard mentioned:

http://oblivion.brashendeavors.net/bows/

This is a Very nice MOD that adds a camp of archers with a wide selection of wooden bows and leather armors to the game. it also includes it's own version of fletching. you buy sets of shafts, arrowheads and feathers and then combine them as needed. very handy as the ingredients to the arrows are nigh on weightless.

also:

This isn't what I'd call forgotten completely, but a great MOD for those who think they are uber:

Yep this thread might be a new thing around here. Here's one thats kinda fun.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15585 which requires http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8823 to work.

I did some quick CS editing and changed Shadowmere to the flaming version.

I was wondering does anyone know of a mod that just alters creature levels so they won't have insane levels of health at high levels? Basically I'm perhaps slightly tired of the prospect of having every creature at high levels take almost every charge in my weapon to kill (or it seems that way).

I know there are a few mods that alter NPC and creature levels but I always thought NPCs were pretty weak to begin with once you get good gear so I'm not interested in anything that lowers NPC health or alters loot.

Is there an English version of Ramy mod?

Also, this mod is amazing. It adds 7 extra cyclers to your inventory. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17402

Great combo with Midas Magic. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17413

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5750 just adds a little marketplace (consists of three merchants) to Weye. The merchants sell/buy some vegetables. Nothing advanced, but improves the atmosphere in the rather naked corner.

I think this is too good of a thread to be lost.

I'm gonna add Merged Teeth

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10674

and Darth Revan's Armor Mod

Thanks for creating a new thread.

One of my new favorites http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16005 -- no more weired sleep while standing

Agreed a much needed thread. As for See You Sleep I had that people sleeping in you problem which lead to the game crash problem.

just thought I'd mention this mod for people who don't like that low level baddies disappear but also don't want something like OOO.

Curesman's anti-extinction mod. Works very well in keeping a little variability of creatures at high levels

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=3214

I would also recommend Jarol's NPC leveled equipment mod to make it so high end equipment doesn't become standard issue for NPCs at later levels. It also makes it just a little bit harder to become rich and adds a little bit of excitement when you find someone with high level stuff. one thing to note: because of Oblivion gates getting Daedric is still relatively easy at high levels however I have only found one piece of Ebony armor (a helmet) at level 26/27 with a healthy amount of dungeon raiding.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9333 (Extremely useful mod yet so simple).

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21955(PR0 6AM3R) (My shameless attempt at getting my mod out there a little more, provides a pocket-dimension type of land with all kinds of useful and godly creatures, services and rewards).

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2280 (A much better retexture for the detect life shader).

Note: Please do not post massivly popular mods such as OOO, MMM, OBSE, Streamline, etc as this is for all the little ones people may have missed that are what really make Oblivion what it is (however the large mods add alot too).

Speaking of Life Detect Shader replacers, this little-known one is my favorite:
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=277

The page doesn't have a screenshot, but the effect is a red shock shader that kind-of looks like blood pumping through the bodies of those you detect. Very cool.

The second Underdog Modlist still exists, http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=823129
And it really died while still in the first thread, as many modders began to shamelessly advertise their own mods, turning an "underdog mod list" into "I advertise my own mods mod list", which really isn't what underdogs are about. Then the second thread never got a big chance back then.

Hm. Looking at the OP I maybe shouldn't have said this .

 - Doesn't every modder feel they are a bit of an underdog when it comes to downloads for their releases !!

This is an underdog? I know it's awesome, but it's got 18 thousand downloads and show up on many lists of essential mods and favorite mods.

Also, isn't http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17737 (which has only 1500 downloads) supposed to be better?
