MAIN QUEST SPOILERS BELOW

My first post here in Bethesda.

Got my first Fallout and enjoying the heck out it!

BUT, I'm having a bug (which is apparently common) that doesn't allow me to complete the Underground/Undercover Railroad quest.

I am supposed to "Warn Desdemona" about a BoS attack, but when I try talking to her, she simply replies with the standard lines. "I'm busy." "Welcome to HQ", etc.

I noticed several people having this issue in other forums also.

Tried restarting. Tried loading an early save. Tried entering HQ with only one quest selected.

Is there any workaround? Besides having to fail the quest by killing her or killing the Institute?

I have the same problem. Warned Desdemona, but the quest marker remains above her head. Quest cannot be completed.

Read that going back to the Institute and killing people, thereby making me an enemy of the Institute, should fail the Institute quest of "kill Desdemona", but it also fails the Underground Undercover quest for me every single time.

Can someone please advise urgently how to sort this out. This quest is needed to obtain the Platinum and plenty of people have done this successfully. What is causing this? Replaying the game makes no sense as long as we don't know what causes this bug in the first place. Tons of forums are reporting this issue across all 3 platforms.

Of course it fails Underground Undervocer, thats the idea of the people using this way to fix it, they want the quest to fail.

But i don't want it to fail, i want to be able to play the game they way i decided to do it.

This Bug has been known for quite some time now, its time that Bethesda finally fixes it, because its annoying the crap out of me.
