underhand grip confirmed

Post » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:22 pm

a while back i made a thread about whether we would be able to hold short blades/daggers in a underhanded grip (instead of the sword facing up it would be facing down) and the new screen shot at pc gamer (im not sure if we are allowed to post pictures from sites like pc gamer or not, i know we cant post to anything leaked,im going to give the link anyway and if this is against the rules please tell me mods and i will be more than happy to remove it.)

Not against the rules, but it didn't need it's own thread. There are literally ten other threads with the same picture.

God, all of Oblivion's races are hideous

Fixed.

Did you not play Morrowind or something? Sure, the Oblivion models may have had a few more polygons, but they all looked like garbage in comparison stylistically.

They're talking about the way he's holding the dagger, not the Dunmer himself. xD
But it is exciting that you can have a backwards grip! Adds more diversity to the game. :P

It's called a reverse grip, or Icepick grip.

God the character models look so much better. I guess I can understand the design choice in Oblivion, it takes place in the Imperial capital of Cyrodiil, so people are gonna be a bit more "cultured", but characters and races were so much more diverse in Morrowind, I am glad that is coming back.

As far as the underhanded short blade goes, I like it. I was planning on dual wielding 1-handed long swords, but if I can carry a blade underhanded like that, I just may have to give short blades a go.
