My understanding of weapons in TES

First of all, TES is a medieval style game, so we sure will use cold weapons.

However, do not forget that TES is also a rambo-style game, in other words, you play and fight by yourself without a team/army/commando. That being said, not ALL cold weapons are suitable for fighting alone. For example, long spears will not work, because it's used in a formation; javelins are very inaccurate and are used in "rain" tactic; most of the pole arms are also very inefficient at close range. I think Beth should include weapons that make sense when used alone. The weapons used by roman gladiators can be a good reference as they fight alone.

You said it, TES is a rambo style, "I do things alone" kind of game. At least in its normal default state.

However, you are forgetting that TES is NOT a medevil game, it is a fantasy game. And in a fantasy world, who says spears and polearms are meant for formations? They look cool, they are cool, and they should be in the game. Morrowind had them, and I miss me glass halberd.

That aside, this will probably be locked and a suggestion of moving it to one of the many existing threads on this topic.
