Underwater City?

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 5:39 am

Alright, so I'm just going for a swim in the commonwealth. You know, recreationally. And I've got the first Aquaboy rank perk so I can just scuba dive. Alright, so I'm by Fort Strong deep sea diving and I'm seeing these pipes, one set like, rusted brown, and another set that is blue. Some of these pipes have lights on them so they're obviously powered. The rusted brown ones have what look like water purification systems connected maybe? What makes me think this isn't connected to Fort Strong is that I'm too far from Fort Strong and I followed the pipes and it doesn't connect back to the fort. I'm on Xbox One and there's this glitch, when you go deep enough to look slightly down and it clears up the water significantly. Well completely. But there's still the blurry vision. I'm new to forums so I'm not sure how to, if it's possible, to post pictures. If there's a way I would appreciate it if someone told me how and I will definitely post them.

I've been there too in my PA, walking along the sea bed. I found that glitch where the underwater effect disappears and I noticed the pipelines and how much effort had gone into designing the sea bed across the whole bay, so I kept walking to see if there were any treats to find. But after a while I hit some kind of invisible wall where my PA no longer protected me and I suddenly drowned. It's certainly a place where a hidden faction could be found in later content for just $29.95.

Awesome this got a couple replies! Haha. I hit the invisible wall too, but didn't drown. What about the trenches and svckin(?) boats? I mean, with all that stuff there's gotta be something down there in that area. I'll definitely keep looking and give any update.

Theres a couple of things underwater but nothing remarkable. everytime I swim though I feel like I'm going to be eaten by one of those dolphin sharks or something. but there really isn't anything awesome underwater as I would hope.

They're was going to be some underwater related content, there's still a Harpoon Gun in the game files that was designed to be used in underwater combat (it leaves a trail of bubbles in it's wake when fired anywhere) and there was the cancelled quest "20 Leagues Under the Sea" the icon of-which showed the Vault Boy in somekind of Bathysphere.

What-ever it was going to be about though is unknown, but you can tell from the actual effort in-places underwater that something was intended to occur.

That's what I was thinking. Going with power armor and travel that way. there just has to be something down there. I've found deep water trenches with boats and cars and things of that nature. If nothing else there has to at least be some awesome loot. There's gotta be something though. Bethesda doesn't make anything without meaning or purpose.

And another thing to note is that you can't actually go to the edge of the pip-boy map in the water. The far right side. Look next time your over there.

Not that I am aware of, I just know that it can be spawned through console commands and we know of the cancelled quest because some data was left in the Pip-Boy App when it was data-mined.

It's very possible the porpoises we find dead were originally intended as underwater enemies, since there are so damn many of them and no other water creatures aside from Mirelurks.

Now I need a Mr. Bubbles suit of power armor.

And that just sort of reminded me of that one traveling merchant...

Update: So I'm going NorthEast underwater. Between Fort Strong and the Island that is South of the Fort. With the glitch I can see there's something that looks like a strobe light and further there's a flipped over, sunken (freight?) ship. It's past the boundary of the game though. I definitely support some underwater DLC. That'd be awesome. Exploring the ocean is a ton of fun, and eerie. the atmosphere is so different, so more of it would be welcomed. IMO.

I was swimming south east of Libertalia, and I Saw a smokestack underwater, I swam inside and found a Jangles the Moon Monkey inside at the bottom. That little guy gets around!

I think this city could be like a sort of mix between: a vault, rapture and a biodome. or with a lot of bases build between rocks and the same ocean.

There's a lot of speculation there will be an underwater dlc. First, they spent a lot of time desigin the underwater areas. Second, they give you ways, most notably the aquaboy perk, to spend lots of time down there. And lastly, Theresa that harpoon gun. It wouldn't make much sense to do all that for nothing

A submarine mount and a quest to find a mutated Nessy monster would be immense.

More underwater and maritime oriented DLC would be amazing. An undersea lab may work, or maybe a Titanic sized boat as a DLC location. All I really want is a quest where we have to walk the ocean floor in Power Armor. I so wanted to walk the ocean floor in Bioshock, but no dice... maybe they could add waterbreathing mods to Power Armor for people that don't have Aquaboy, or even give us deep-sea exploration power armor. That might be a bit too much like Bioshock, though...

I'm still waiting on a Ghoul captain Ahab that's hellbent on finding the mutated radioactive sea monster what ghoulified him.
