There appears to be something I need to get underwater as part of an unmarked quest but it is FAR in. Are there any items or meds that let you breath underwater??

I think the space suit should also allow to swim underwater longer - but it does not - maybe it should be patched?

Yes, good idea it should. But you'd have to charge the O2 system some how or suffocate.

This is a glaring logical error on the part of the developers. The space suit should absolutely behave like the rebreather.

Only if you have oxygen. Right now it only decreases the amount of radiation you suffer, which means the suit is not air tight, let alone water tight.

space suit doesn't have a helmet. see, now it is logical why the space suit by itself won't work but you can use that breather thingy while wearing that suit. good for swimming in water.
