Undress an entire city

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 1:36 pm

If anything, SPEECH should be powerful enough to TALK the entire Whiterun population to GIVE you their clothes...

Yes, I don't think Skyrim accurately represents the power of a Speech skill of 100. I think it got the mercantile side right, but not speech. Speech is pretty gimped in Skyrim. With Morrowind you could actually taunt NPCs with such effectiveness that they would outright attack you in the middle of a city.

So someone with 100 pick pocketing and the perk that lets you steal equipped items stole the clothes of everyone in Whiterun. Sounds like a monumental waste of time to me but it also looks like the skill is working as intended.

lol. pickpocket 88. equipped armors the next perk in my skill tree. they better not change nothin. pickpocket is a beasty ass skill. it should be able to do stuff like this at master level. you have to get caught a lot of times to get your pickpocket all the way up. ive been chased out of cities more times than id like to recall...

Hah, that's pretty funny.

That's the thing... You get a skill to 100 and use all perks you become awesome in that tree/skill... that's how it works!

If you are 100 then you are the best. Don't be surprised. Yeah, master pickpockets can pull this off in real life!

But seriously, most skills (especially smithing) are really easy to level up.

what in the hell.
just...

good god, try thinking before posting. TES games are described as open-ended for a reason. instead of stealing their clothes, you could just kill the whole city. BETHESDA, PLEASE NERF DOING DAMAGE, YOU CAN KILL THINGS WITH IT.

if you don't want a city full of naked people, don't steal their clothes. like, what the [censored].

So according to the OP we should Nerf a SINGLE player game, because of course right now it seems that people are having fun with these skills, and how dare people have fun in this game!

I of course will undress all the men, hmm and possibly equip them with the shirtless Fur armor.....OH I could use this for the companions to equip them with the armor or clothing that I want them to use, instead of them just equipping the armor with the highest DRM.

Yup, I'm going to have fun with this, but of course the OP hates fun.

while i understand what you're saying (you want the game to be a tad more reactive), and i agree that it would be nice, i was aiming my last post at a different aspect of the argument: the open-ended nature of the game and what a player should be able to do. i saw someone on these forums with a signature that really summed it up to me, and it went something like this:

a game is a toy, and when a person buys that toy they can do with it what they will. some people want to break their toy, and that's fine...they paid for it. some people stay within the confines of standard play and some people get creative. this is trying to say that games should be played, not obeyed.

if a person want's to be a god of underwear-stealing, and leave entire cities naked, power to em. if the thought sends chills of despair down their spine...just...don't do it.
