Unexplored areas

When Krakatoa erupted, it lowered Earth's average temperature by a few degrees. Red Mountain's eruption caused a year of darkness; its effects could be lingering.

Oh yeah, Red Mountain's eruption during the First Era did cause climate change that affected plants as recorded by the http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/nirnroot_missive.shtml.

Sun's Death occurred near the end of Resdayn at 1E 668. http://www.imperial-library.info/pge3/other_lands.shtml, 6 centuries before.
Therefore, you have evidence that a Red Mountain eruption occurred at a time that caused frost fall in Atmora during the Merethic?

Not as big as the big one, at least. Looks like there was an earlier climate shift.

You know that TES is not real life, right? A volcano in TES doesn't have to lower the temperature when it erupts.

Totally uncalled for. He was only suggesting a possible explanation.

It think the more likely culprit was the destruction of Atmora's tower. Without reality held in place things there got screwy and everyone was forced to leave.

Atmora had no Tower. There were no Elves to build it.

There were elves on Atmora, during the dawn. They were driven off after Auriel's victory against Lorkhan.
Auriel could not save Altmora, the Elder Wood, and it was lost to Men. They were chased south and east to Old Ehlnofey, and Lorkhan was close behind. He shattered that land into many.

You see those two words? Elves. Dawn.

Yeah, built right at the same time to the gleaming Khajiit-race tower and the Eye of Argonia/Hist towers.

You're worse than an aedroth.

Uhh...no.

In case you didn't know, the first two towers were built during the dawn. And possibly others too. It is fully possible for a tower to have been built during the dawn and destroyed right before the start of the first era.

Well noted. I admit the possibility. This one must learn to triple-check his sources.

I agree. Zero and First Tower were created by the Gods in the Dawn. The rest were built by the Mer in the Merethic.

Yeah they'd totally mimic a tower which hasn't been chucked deep into Nirn. Are you perpetually in a Dragon Break?

I can build my own tower. I can make mine walk or fly, but does that make me a scholar, general, god?

Red Tower was destroyed, but Morrowind's reality doesn't seem to be shifting.

I guess you missed that whole daedric invasion thing then? :P Seriously, the events of Oblivion were a direct consequence of the removal of the Heart Stone from Red Mountain.

It still wouldn't have happened if the Emperor remained alive.

But the fact that he wasn't made it possible.

The fact that Someone arrived at Kvatch the day after yesterday made it possible.

And the fact that the Weir Gate used to exist at Kvatch made Kvatch a good starting point for invasion. ;)

But as Patrick Stewart himself told us: "The stars were right and this is the day." There is no 'if' when predestination is involved.

Point is, even with the fall of Red Tower, the Dragonfires kept the Daedra from invading. And we're talking hypotheticals here.

Yes, but if the emperor died (thus de-activating White Gold) but if Red Tower was still functioning, the Oblivion crisis would have never happened.

I'm really tired...

There was supposed to be an "if" there.
