Unicorns

In Oblivion there is a Unicorn near some Minotuars, If you attack them the Unicorn attacks you.

Would be interesting.

Not really, no. I'd like to see more original TES critters and less "We need a creature, grab the classic fairy tale books!" myself.

I wouldn't be too broken up if they were absent in Skyrim. To me it seems like a unicorn would be terribly out of place. I know they are a staple of the fantasy genre but they don't strike me as "epic" enough for a rough place like Skyrim.

i dont think its different enough. Its just a horse with a horn. Even in oblivion it wasn't that special. Thanks for putting it out there though :)

Because giant spiders are unheard off.... ;P
But I do not really care on this part to be honest.. though they would be kinda out of place.

But what if these unicorns would be black and have red eyes and stuff like that, instead of the sparkly happy ones?

you don't see many horses like this in games

The unicorn was fitting for Cyrodiil. He wouldn't be part of Nord lore, though, at least not if Nords are based on Norse mythology, which it seems that they are.

The unicorn in Cyrodill adds a ton to the game due to roleplaying possibilities. An anologous choice would be good (and important) for Skyrim. Specifically, characters who eschew so-called "civilization" of whatever kind and find their homes in the wilderness, yet still must have access to various game mechanics.

No. Now Centaurs, on the other hand, they are lore friendly, and would fit into the 'enemies with a bit of intelligence, a society and a culture' category, which is always a bit threadbare.

Unicorns don't really match the theme I think they're going for. Now pegasi on the other hand, would be about 20% cooler! Who doesn't love a flying mount?

Sleipnir would make people freak out. I know everything my old mythology (yes, I'm Norwegian) and still it won't fit. If Skyrim has ever got a faith like the old Norse, it is too long ago. Odin wouldn't just give up his mount anyway.

But people would still freak out and maybe attack it and its rider. Could be fun to wipe out a village in selfdefense :flamethrower: village

They do not belong to Skyrim. I do not know much lore, but Oblivion has that magical fantasy feeling, and Skyrim has a rough nordic feeling, and unicorns just dont belong there....

The weird thing about that URL is that it says "Poseidons Pferde" which is German for Poseidon's horse. What the heck went wrong there?

Anyway, no to unicorns. This is not My little pony or anything, so keep the cutsie fairytale creatures out. Horses with icecream cones glued to their forehead has always seemed kinda lame to me as well.

Don't you know Beth don't want flying mounts?
There is a huge discussion about dragonsflying, but Beth got every reason to not allow that. It's gamebreaking, simple as that.
