Unified Map for added lands?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 3:14 am

I've noticed that that both authors of Valenwood Improved and Elsweyr Deserts of Anequina recommend eachother's work, and there is a batch to smooth out the borders between them, and I was thinking of installing them. But my question is this; is there a unified map that includes both mods?

Oh good. I didn't want to play them and be unable to figure out where the heck I was on the map.

Ugh. The only option that works for Valenwood and Elsweyr is the Terrain map, and that one just looks terrible.

Does this map do anything so far as adding unique landscapes to the map?

The Eleven Map has a module for the River Ethe, but that's it.

Actually the Terrain Map style supports all of the UL mods.

I agree that more support for various mods is desirable but understand that the author of Dynamic Map is dependent on others for map content.

If you don't like what's available, then you should set about making things yourself. The Terrain map is the only one that can be made "automatically" using a set of available tools. Any other style requires "artistic input" of some kind. The end result of that is that the Terrain map is the only option with the full complement of components. The simple truth: if you don't like it, help out by making other components.

This is true. I am not an artist, so I will never be going to make the maps by myself. But I am quite handy with gimp or similar tools, so if anyone provides me a map of any style containing new or modified land, I can turn that into a usable map component for Dynamic Map within an hour or two. So I am more than happy if anyone can create maps for me, or link to existing maps that could be turned into map components for Dynamic Map. :)
