Uninstalling a half-broken install

Post » Sat Oct 26, 2013 11:07 am

I say half-broken because I was able to apparently install Disc1 of the retail GotY edition of FO3, but not Disc2 (and thus I don't have any of the DLCs). Running Win7.

So I'd like to start over from scratch, installing the game to a different folder and basically following all of the advice given by CCNA in the pinned thread at the top of this forum. (And apparently installing Disc2 in safe mode so I can actually get all the DLCs and - my real goal! - get playing with the Fallout Wanderer's Edition mod again!

I don't see an 'Uninstall' option, so should I just delete the C:/Program Files/Bethesda/Fallout 3 folder, or something else?

You could do it that way, but then you'd have to go through your registry and remove any mentions of the game on your system, which is a real pain. It would be easier to continue with the install process, using safe mode to install the second disc, then uninstalling the game the usual way when it's done. are you sure there's no way to uninstall it now? Did you look in the Control Panel/Programs and Features utility which deals with that sort of thing?

Ah... well....

No, actually I didn't know about that.

Thanks! That was easy. Now for the next phase...
