There's some more meshes I picked from Daduke's Rings and Amulets resource, but I have had difficulty texturing them because they aren't segmented. So, I've illustrated what I'd need done to make these useful for texturing with vanilla textures.
>>If anyone is interested in taking a shot at modifying these meshes, you can download them http://www.mediafire.com/?chimmj0yzny.
The first ring is http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ring_kyte_part_gemstuff.jpg (call this #1). It all sits on one texture, as you can see http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ring_kyte_part_segmentation.jpg (call this #2). I've put boxes around the different parts of the ring, which you can see in #2 - the main gemstone&setting (red), the back of the setting (purple), the the ring band (orange). I'd want these segmented, so that they point to their own UV maps and textures (apologies if I'm using the wrong wording/terminology). Next, I need that setting to be split up in a complex manner to achieve full control over its visual appearance; in #1, I've colored various parts of the gem&setting that need to have their own textures (in other words, a very segmented mesh).
The second ring is one I did manage to texture okay even unsegmented, but I'd much prefer more control and the ability to use different textures (at the moment, I'm restricted to using the Exquisite Belt texture tx_c_belt_common_11.bmp). http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr50/Alaisiagae/Mod%20Screenshot%20MW/Misc/ring_tristone_segmentation.jpg. The center jewel (green) gets its own texture. The secondary gems (fuchsia/pink) also get their own textures. The band and gem casings/settings are UV mapped very strangely (blue), but it seems to work out okay visually; all I'd need is for it to have its own texture (segment) at minimum.
No tweaking to the UV map shapes need to be done, but if you want to streamline them or make them into a more flexible shape, feel free to do so.
