[WIP]Unique Uniques

Post » Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:33 am

Decided that either this mod or another would address some of the unique creatures as well (or at the very least, different variants of creatures-- I know, that's NEVER been done before ) So, first up to bat--

EDIT: Also, yes, it does use vanilla textures :D

Are you going to do that one unique daedroth in the dwemer ruin the fighter's guild takes you to?
It was always my favorite quest :D

I was already really looking forward to this mod, but seeing that bonewalker, I can't wait. Please, please, please do the different Dreugh variants. I've always liked that creature, and thought it could do with a makeover.

The only thing that Bonewalker's missing are the metallic rods that the original had. Other than that, it's amazing!

Muchas gracias, everyone! :)

@Krovosos- Unfortunately, I tried to put the bones or rods, or whatever it is that impales the bonewalkers on my guy, but they don't sync up well with his animations-- they just kind of float around  I tried to replicate it with the bones sticking out of him, hopefully it works :D

Its a pretty neat idea and I love the new looks but I would hope they would be a bit more high res; they stick out as low res when you use mods like Darknut?s armor replacers

They use vanilla textures, meaning that the model will use whatever texture replacer you use. So these will, in fact, fit seamlessly with Darknut's mods :D

Small update:
http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6115/gjhlaaluhelm.jpg Specifically, this is the helmet that you have to wear for the first Hlaalu quest. I always found it curious that the helmet looked identical to all the others.

It looks more like a hat than a helm, I was under the impression that a helm covered the users head

Out of all the things you have made, this is the only one I don't like,
I still couldn't make it though

I love love love all these changes. One minor, obscure magic weapon I've always liked I don't see on here, and that's Shimsil, the unique ebony shortsword carried by the necromancer in Mawia. It has a pretty unique enchantment and its own name, so it seems to me like it ought to have a different appearance.

I LOVE Erur-Dan's robe, and I LOVE Trebonius' Staff. I've always thought the Archmage's heavily enchanted staff ought look different than a regular steel staff.

http://moxdev.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/005_professor.png I'm working on the generic magic items as well as the uniques. It's more fun for me this way, I think :P

Holy [censored], there is not a single one of those I don't like. Especially the few I left in the quote. I like how you mixed styles in a few, like ebony/silver in Trebonius' staff. You're doing a good job at giving some of them a TOTALLY new look while still making them look Morrowind-ish. I've noticed quite a few mods that utterly fail at that... like whoever put the crusader with the huge red CROSS (which has ZERO significance in Tamriel) on his chest in Morrowind Comes Alive.

I LOVE Hort-Ledd's Robe, how it's a mix of the weird bug one and the exquisite one.

EDIT: I don't much care for that Bonewalker, personally. Hope that's a separate mod from all the items.

No worries, I haven't really gone anywhere with that mod since showing off the Bonewalker. If I do end up making a full mod, it will most definitely be separate from this one ;)

Do you plan on continuing the creature portion of the mod? I actually really liked how the Bonewalker looks, and I hope you decide to keep working on new creatures. While I love mods that add completely new creatures, as long as they are believably lore-friendly, having unique versions of existing creatures is something that I've wanted to see for a long time.

This looks like it will be pretty amazing, keep up the good work!
