Unique Weapon Brainstorming.

This is a thread to post all your ideas about unique weapons and their skin. Post in this format if you will to keep it organized.
(base weapon)-(unique name)-(skin differences, art work, actual add ons, etc)-(weapon abilities as in damage boosts, fire damage, extra durability)
for example(ill use the virgin mary pistol):
9mm pistol---Virgin Mary----ivory grip engraved with artwork of the the Virgin Mary, engravings along the rest of the gun----more weapon damage.

Frag grenade
Red Death
It's painted completely white with a skull and two bones that cross each other (like on pirate flags) which is painted in red.
This one time grenade is an instant death towards any enemy that breathes air, it releases a deadly poison which will instantly kill anything in the area tossed, even the PC. Anything that doesn't breathe, like robots, are not going to be affected by it.

Hunting Rifle. "Finger of Death" Synthetic match stock with steel bedded action, 3 pound trigger, lap honed stainless match barrel, machine tuned action firing match grade jacketed bi-metal AP. Leupold 3.5-14x50mm scope. Increased accuracy. Mucho increaso.

I think about the same number of mini nukes as in F3 would be good.

A silenced sniper rifle with a faded ASAF logo over a solid black with slight fade to the guns paint. Some kind of pre-war stealth operatives rifle or something. Or maybe something akin to Hitman with the suitcase sniper rifle.

@BoS-about six sounds reasonable if yo uask me.

One.
But if you find a certain person who is an expert at alchemy then if you find the right ingredients then you can make him develop more.
But you're going to have to complete a series of quests for him, win a speech challenge, find incriminating evidence about him and blackmail him with it and only then can you make him create more of these for you.
(And not just one of these, you have to do all of these before he is willing to create any for you, one mistake and you have to reload)
You're going to have to work hard to earn the right for more of these grenades since they're instakill weapons.
The ingredients are going to be very rare and expensive as well.

All for the sake of balance. :)

Given it's about Unique weapons that would suggest that a singular one is in game, no more, no less.

huh.... well the only problem with that is, a unique weapon you can hold on to, and keep using it and repair it. As for a grenade, just one, that's it, it's gone... you'd really want to make sure you saved it for the perfect moment. And it better show up on the slideshow at the end!!! I like the idea of a series of quests to get that ONE guy to build some more though.

It could be a custom weapon similiar to the Miss Launcher in Fallout 3, you shoot the grenade and it lops, then 'pffffffffff'. The weapon ammo could be similiar to Mini-nuke in rarity. Possibly a Pre-War military riot/trench warfare gas cannister?

Nope, pull trigger, lob it away, gone, do quests for the guy speech challenge him then blackmail him and he will create new one's if you get the rare expensive ingredients.

No No No. I mean the gun AND ammo are uniqe, unlike the mini-nuke though, it can NEVER be bought. So say you find all 20 ammo grenades for the weapon, the gun becomes a heavy paperweight. :laugh:

I love the hunting rifle. And I was trying to think of some unique variance for NV.... but with all the mods availalbe, I don't even know where to begin to make it unique.

I think the blue fire is cooler.

quick search couldn't find anything on blue.... but white is the hottest.

Yes, blue fire is hotter than red fire. Which is kind of weird because the hottest type of fire is white fire, however that's much brighter than blue fire which is a pretty dark flame.
However color also depends on the chemicals going in. I'm not sure exactly how hot a strontium fire is, but strontium creates a crimson/dark red flame, but I'm pretty sure it's around the same heat as an ethanol [blue] flame.

Wow, I can't really come up with anything. Pretty much every unique effect that I can think of for my favorite weapons have almost all been guaranteed by weapons mods. Things are going to be very interesting in New Vegas. Only 51 days to go!!!!!

Dude, there is always something that can be done. For example: a weapon editor that allows you to "saw" or shorten most firearms. Like removing the stock and shortening the barrel of the in-game m4 so it is more concealable.
