United Bretony: The Hills and the Highlands

Gerigan turned to Renmas, and whispered "As soon as we break a hole, get to Calendras, have reinforcements come. Tell Calendras they've resisted. He'll know what to do."

"Very well." Gerigan said. "We stand down." He continued, hoping it would ease the Wayrestians guard. Gerigan walked forward and approached a weak point in the surrounding line of troops, the other guards following him. He suddenly lashed out with his sword at the face of the guard nearest to him. The other guards charged the troops, raising their swords and attacking angrily, trying to make their opponents break with one unexpected charge.

The Wayrestians were ready for the attack, and they easily blocked the sword swings with their shields. As they tightened the circle, Wayrestian cavalry blocked the dock exits, and the archers fired at the attacking troopers. The Light infantry fought viciously, their swords lunging forward at the encircled troops. They never allowed the circle to break. Then, heavy infantry surrounded the initial circle, their pikes ready to skewer any trooper that made it past the light infantry.

Colonel Wirich charged at the man known as Gerigan, his longsword held high. The Colonel was wearing iron plate mail with a helmet, and his longsword was an iron one of the finest Wayrestian craftsmanship. He brought his sword down, hoping to smash his sword into Gerigan's neck.

OOC: your screwed walrus. Your outnumbered, outmatched, and the Bhoriane army is not going to fight Wayrest's finest soldiers.

Bhoriane, Docks

The guards charge had failed horribly. They were closed off and surrounded, and were being butchered by the swarm of Wayrestian troops. Several of the troops at the edge of the docks were pushed off into the sea. Gerigan kept fighting, but they were outnumbered as more and more Wayrest troops entered the fray, the battle was hopeless and he resigned himself to his fate.

Hearing movement behind him, Gerigan lurched forward, but too late, a sword came down accross the edge of his neck, and he tumbled to the ground. He grabbed his neck as blood leaked out of it through his hands.

Renmus looked at the fallen leader, and dropped his sword and raised his hands and shouted "WE SURRENDER!"

Several soldiers had begun attempting to jump off into the sea while stripping off their armor, rather then face certain death.

Bhoriane, Keep
Entering the courtyard of the Keep with his guards trailing behind him, Elusmyr noticed Calendras talking with a man in the courtyard. Approaching both of them, he interrupted their conversation. "Calendras, how goes the transition?"

Calenras turned and nodded "Very well sir, the keep is now in our control and fortified by Direnni troops. The knights and mages are settling into their new quarters."

A guard came rushing through the street shouting Calendras' name. "Calendras, Milord" he bowed, air forcing itself out of his lungs. "Wayrestian troops have attacked our guards during a cargo inspection on the docks. The docks have become a battleground."

Elusmyr frowned alarmed. Calendras had anticipated this when he sent the troops their orders. Elusmyr had commanded Calendras to try and secure the vault once it had reached sea, he never expected Calendras to be this bold. "Calendras, is this your doing?" He demanded.

Calendras nodded. "I thought they'd yield it for an inspection, I see was unfortunately wrong." Turning to one of his lieutenants he said "Send as many of the Bhoriane militia out of the city for missions, survelliance, scouting, patroling, securing positions, whatever, I want as many of them as possible out of here, and make sure none of them know what's happening no the docks."

"Have the guards take defensive position around the castle, and send a patrol down to investigate. Have a few hundred infantrymen in the streets further up, if they're attacked, have the infantry try and block off routes and get reinforcements. Have the patrol attempt to achieve a diplomatic solution first. Now hurry along!"

Elusmyr was overwhelemd by the speed at which events were moving, Calendras turned to him again. "This is a messenger of United Bretony, while I handle this... situation, you should probably see what he wants."

Calendras hurried off, leaving Elusmyr behind with the messenger.

"So," Elusmyr said, not caring much for formality at this point. "What is it you want?"

Kambria
-------------
Octavius smirked at finding out that aid had been sent, and started his response with a sense of feigned surprise in his voice.

"You have already sent aid? Archon Wicksley, if that is the case then there is only one kind of aid you would have sent. Please don't play me for a fool by making the aid you sent sound humanitarian. You have most likely sent military aid to those who would take Bhoriane from Wayrest, right? Well I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Bhoriane is already in Direnni hands by now. (OOC: this character knows the nature of Wayrest's grand "Operation," and is merely assuming that the hand off has already occurred)."

Octavius waited to hear the assembly's reaction.

Assembly

Listien's expression remained passive as the Assembly erupted around him as the Senators shouted insults down upon the men, hissing curses upon their names and their families. Listien looked over to see the King's reaction, and was surprised to see the man standing, with a hard look upon his face.

He raised his hand to calm the room, and many seemed surprised to see Daric talking instead of the more dominant Archon. When the room finally fell silent, Daric looked at the man in front of him hard but with respect as well.

"Kambria has heard nothing about Bhoriane or about any forces attacking the city. However, do not play us out to be the war mongers here, servant of Wayrest for it is you, and your country that will bring war to this land, not small kingdoms such as Kambria. Ever has it been the fears of great powers such as Wayrest that all of the insignificant kingdoms of High Rock will rise up and strike, and because of that you make war upon unsuspecting people's of places like Kambria. Do you believe every kingdom of United Bretony joined because they wished to bring down the great powers like Daggerfall or Wayrest?"

He had stepped down the stairs, and walked withing five feet of Octavius, looking straight into the man's eyes with contempt. "If you wish to believe that military aid is what we have sent, than do so foolishly. The aid we have sent is nothing more than supplies to defend our lands and our allies lands against the power-hungry war-mongers like Wayrest!"

He turned away, and walked back up to his throne, but did not sit as he awaited the response of Octavius and how the man might respond to such an outburst.

Next to the King, Listien remained passive but on the inside he felt like Daric had finally said something worth-while and had to do everything to keep his face from shifting to a less neutral pose.

Phillip, Bhoriane

"Well, it appears the Direnni Emperor himself is here."

Phillip recognized his crown and staff. Through his political knowledge and other information the guards had spoken of, he was able to figure out just who this mer was. With this, he nodded his head, as if in respect. He continued to speak in his polite, respectful manner.

"I am Phillip, captain of a rebel force resisting Wayrest here in this city. I speak for United Bretony. Currently, 20,000 men reside outside of this city: Urvaiusians, Bhorianian noblemen, and Anticlerians. One of our leaders has requested that I find out more about this situation at hand, as we did notice your wondrous flag being put in place of that old Wayrestian flag. The reason we come here is that we want Wayrestian forces off the mainland of the peninsula. I'd like to know what's going on here with this apparent violence?"

Phillip smirked.

"?Then perhaps?we can reach an agreement?"

OOC: My diplomat-princess' sheet:

Name: Lady Viana Hawkford
Race: Breton
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Sign: The Lady

Appearance: Famous for her beauty throughout High Rock, Viana's slender form has been the talk of many a tavern gossip and chuckling conversation. Her fair face is said to resemble her late mother's, though her russet hair is surely from her father's side.
Hair: A shining brunette, with silken threads falling freely down to her waist. Like her brother she wears a band that keeps her hair parted down the middle, though hers is made of a shining gold.
Eyes: Deep emerald green, with a ring of darker olive surrounding. Her gaze seems playful, and has struck many a man speechless in her time.
Height: 5' 9''
Weight: 130 lbs

Armor/Clothing: Viana, despite her other tomboyish tendencies, loves to outfit herself in the finest dresses her father can purchase, complete with a wide assortment of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, belts, and rings. As per tradition, most of her wardrobe holds the familiar colors of blue and gold.

Faction: The Principalities of Meir
Position: Princess of Meir
Description: Daughter of the King of Meir, the princess plays an important role as a lady of the court and as a working diplomat for the crown. She holds little official sway over the decisions of the kingdom, but in truth has much influence on her father and brother.

Personality: Fiercely independent, Lady Viana has strived her entire life to be more than just the wife of some important political figure. Though she does make concessions for the good of the kingdom, for the most part she commands her own life, assuming the role of diplomat and one of the several dignitaries who attends official council meetings. Despite her famous charm and wit, she has always been rather tomboyish, refusing countless suitors in favor of a freer bachelorette life.
Fears: Being restrained or otherwise rendered unable to do her own will and whim.
Goals: Serve her kingdom to the best of her ability and, one day, find a suitable husband fitting her rather selective tastes.

History: In progress, nothing really spectacular.

IC: Lady Viana smiled at the horizon, delicate hands folded across her lap as her carriage trundled steadily along the rising path. On the other side of the coach, her personal guardsman, David Hawkhart, gave her the steady, watchful stare she had already grown accustomed to. She flashed the man a winning smile, causing the armored Breton to look away quickly, face hot.

Viana stifled a chuckle with the tips of her fingers, fine gold bracelets tinkling playfully. "Be on your toes, Davy, I think we're almost to the castle."

"Yes milady," David said curtly, obviously uncomfortable with the princess' casual nickname for him.

'What a formal man, how much longer do we have to travel together before he relaxes?' Viana thought with a small smile, David turning his stare towards the window.

"The castle of Orsinium is in sight, my lady," the driver called out, struggling to be heard over the sound of hoofbeats.

"Most excellent," Viana replied, speaking to David, "Inform the rest of the guard to remain outside with the coaches, we shall enter the orcs' keep alone."

"Are you sure that is wise, milady?" David asked, voice wary, "The orcish tribes are not known for their, ah, diplomacy."

"Well, it is wise they learn their manners soon then, if they wish to speak to me." Viana said with a sparkle in her green-within-green eyes, warm smile revealing small pearls of perfect teeth.

"Yes milady," David replied stoicly.

OOC: Sorry to intrude upon your already in-progress meeting, Dren and Darth, but I wanted to make a post before things went too far. Feel free to skip the pleasantries at the gate and send her right into the thick of things, noting how she refused to be turned away and whatnot. If you want to say a few more things before I get there though go ahead and meet her at the gate, I'd love to talk my way past guards and such, demanding to speak to your girl. Thanks :D

IC: Bhoriane

Colonel Wirich watched as what little remained of the Direnni Patrol sniveled and coward before them. For a moment, he considered taking pity on what little remained, but realized that the situation called for drastic measures. He looked back at the ships for but a moment, and then made his decision.

"Capture any survivors! Place them in Cages! Get the last five crates on the ships. Anyone not involved in these two activities, return to your ship!"

A horde of 150 light infantry men surrounded the few survivors left, and made an effort to capture them and bring them to the center of the docks. The heavy infantry were mindful of any attempt to escape, and maintained their perimeter. Most of the cavalry began returning to their ships, leaving a few scouts at the edge of the docks. The last of the vault crates was packed up, and those not involved in other activities returned to their vessels. Colonel Wirich knew the cost of his failure, but he also knew this was best for his men.

Kambria
-------------
"You call US warmongers?" Octavius laughed at the idea, and then resumed his stern and serious tone. "Aid sent to defend is aid sent to offend. United Bretony faces no threat of attack, yet its city-states actively work towards instigating war. Tell me, are all your Stratego's here? Has anyone come to Kambria bringing news of a report being sent to the King of Wayrest? I should warn you, the report never even mentions your city. Though I can understand your anger Daric, you, who has had his power usurped by the lie of democracy!"

Orsinium
-----------------
OOC: Sorry for the lateness of this reply

IC:
"Lady Ming, if I may propose a counter offer. We of course offer you protection should United Bretony threaten your borders, but what we are interested in is securing your nations help during the upcoming war. Those fools in United Bretony are a threat to every other kingdom in the region, and should their borders ever get closer to yours, it will be a matter of time before the fools in United Bretony's assemblies convince their subjects that the Orsimer somehow threaten them. We want Orsinium's help in driving a stake straight into United bretony's heart. If you will assist us, we will come to your aid if you are attacked, and we would also like to initiate a free trade agreement in which your traders will be exempt from Wayrestian trade tariffs, in exchange for a similar exemption for Wayrestian traders of course."

Bhoriane, Keep

"Wayrest has deemed it fit to betray us, it seems. A patrol was attacked on the docks. This city is more then it's worth... Rebels, United Bretony, Wayrest..." Elusmyr trailed off, a distant look in his eye.

An idea sprung forth in his mind and his worried face turned upwards in a smirk mocking Philip.

"Yes, perhaps we can come to an agreement. Here are my terms. We will give you Bhoriane, but in return, you must clear the Wayrestians off the face of the city, and provide us with protection of Wayrest. This is a good deal. It works out for everyone. If we stay here, this whole thing is a tangled mess, but this way, everything works out. You get your city, and we get relieved of a tremendous burden and task that has been weighing you down."

"There hasn't been much in the way of diplomacy between United Bretony, perhaps this is the beginning of something beautiful." Elusmyr laughed. "What say you, then?"

Bhoriane docks:

Almost everyone was packed up now. The prisoners were stripped of their weapons and released. A messenger was sent to all the ships, and what remained of the troops boarded their ships. Colonel Wirich was on one of the Bone crushers, watching as the Wayrestian fleet began to sail out of Bhoriane's harbor, to a new destination. There was no way the released prisoners would know where they were going, but all of the Colonel's men knew. They were going to the Isle of Balifera.

Bhoriane Keep
--------------------
The former governor of Bhoriane watched the events at the docks, and he knew that he couldn't let the Direnni keep control of the city when they so readily attacked Wayrest's forces. Taking up the horn of announcement, he blew into it while standing at one of the balcony's. A crowd soon gathered around said balcony, and the Governor bellowed.

"People of Bhoriane! The Direnni have betrayed us. They attack King Charles' soldiers, and will slaughter us all unless we fight back. Take up arms, and drive them into the sea!"

Soon, crowds of angry mobs would make their push agianst Direnni's forces.

OOC: I would like to point out that your probably going to have an all out rebellion of Bhoriane's military if United Bretony is given control over the city.

OOC:

Ravanger, Bhorianian citizens are border citizens. While they do fight against the Direnni Elves, they won't revolt against their Bretic brothers, especially democracy.

Lets go kick some ass.

IC:

Bhoriane, Keep, Phillip

"Well, Lord Elysumer...I don't have the power to accept such terms, but I am sure our leader would more than accept them. What I can do though, is get these Wayrestians out of the city. Lower the gate, and the troops will pour in..."

Phillip turned back to Dem-Na, the Argonian.

"Quick, gather the men, and send the messenger back to William. Tell him that the Direnni have been betrayed by Wayrest, and will let us in the city. Specify to him not to harm any of the elves."

Phillip turned back to the Direnni emperor.

"...They are our friends...Well then, get your men, and I'll get mine. Let's get to that gate. Most of the violence seems to be at the port. If we can make it to the gate, then all will be well..."

Rosseau Estate & Xa-Ku & Rebels

Faction Name: Xa-Ku Mercenaries (50)

Faction Description: Hired in the beginnings of the Wayrestrian Expansion, this particular band of Argonian Mercenaries was hired and stationed in Bhiorhane to act as a security force in the border-edge city. The pay was average, which was fine to the hired-arms because they simply had to babysit the city and it's denizens. But as the months passed by, the pay became increasingly lower and lower until it came to the point of being unbearable.

A rich nobleman neighboring Bhiorhane with no influence over the land recognized the situation quickly and exploited it to his advantage. He contacted the leader of the Mercenary band and promised him that if he and his men were to defect to his control, he would insure a better pay.
Disgruntled as they were, the Xa-Ku accepted his offer - discarding any sort of allegiance they used to accommodate for Wayrest. However, the job the nobleman had in mind for the warriors was more demanding then their previous; Neutralization and Harassment of Wayrestrian control over Bhiorhane so the noble could gain more influence over the land.

Stationed: Bhiorhane

Troop count/description-

20 Argonian Mercenaries: These soldiers are the original members of the Xa-Ku, and operate as the backbone of the Rebellion. They professionalize in many military arts, however mostly delve in the grounds of Arson, Pirating and Guerrilla Tactics.

They are mostly clad is lighter armor materials to maximize maneuverability and silence when executing an operation, and use weapons of similar craft as well for the same reasons. Most of the band prefers light-weight weapons such as shortswords and throwing spears.

30 Civilian Militants: These are disgruntled civilians that have seen the Xa-Ku Rebel Movement as a hope for freedom and to give themselves a light amongst darkness. They have next to no sort of military experience nor skill with a weapon - seeing as most of them have never actually held one, let alone used one in their lives. They brandish any sort of weapon they can get their hands on however, be it a blacksmith hammer, a sword or even a broomstick. The armor they are given is equal to the Mercenaries, if not more duller.

They're role within the Rebellion is on a smaller scale then their employers. These denizens covert themselves mainly in Boycotting Wayrestrian goods and stealing from Officials and merchants from Wayrest. However there are times where they are permitted to do more aggressive things, such as performing acts of arson on docked cargo ships and the like.

Notable Members-

Phillip de Montesquieu: A Bretic ex-soldier and war veteran, Phillip has extensive and useful knowledge with weapons and tactics and really takes most of the initiative for the Militants actions. Although he is not as young he used to be and is unfortunately balding, the Breton is a fairly strong for his age. He keeps a long iron sword sheathed at his side at all times, and wears a more casual attire instead of prancing around in armor. Although he is not a soldier anymore, Phillip still retains his no-nonsense military attitude.

Black-Eyes: The youngest member of the Xa-Ku. Black-Eyes, or 'Blake' is an archer in training and an expert tracker. He is quick on his feet, and quicker with his hands - especially if he has a bow. The young lizard was appropriately name due to an unnatural dark shade of scales around his eyes; looking as if he had just suffered a beating, which others occasionally ask him about. Other then that, Blake has a positively upbeat look at his life within the Rebellion and can sometimes be known to be overconfident.

Dem-Na: One of the head planners within the Rebellion. Dem-Na, to most non-mercenaries is portrayed as a very strange argonian. He speaks with a very thick argonian accent, which can sometime be inaudible gibberish to others besides his cohorts. The lizard wears a leather eye-patch over his left eye due to an incident he had when he was young - when asked what happened he merely shrugs. He is responsible for most of the arson attacks the Rebellion has set forth and has unexpectedly found out that certain alcoholics are flammable. Dem-Na is naturally determined, although has a strange sense of humor.

More Notable Members to come.

Faction Name: Rousseau Estate (72)

Faction Description: Out of all of the other noble estates in the region, the Rousseau estate is by far one of the richest, however not the strongest. Like most other nobles, the Rousseau Estate had next to no influence whatsoever on it's neighbor or even anywhere else, the King of Wayrest made sure of that, however the lord of the estate owned a large chain of farms which produced food that he sells to merchants and traders at large.

Laction: A few miles outside Bhiorhane

Troop count/description-

50 Man-at-arms: These soldiers are basically the Lords body guards and security force. Usually armed in an array of either sword or axe and a small kite shield to go with, these men operate effectively given the circumstances. They are clad in chain-mail armor, although sometimes wear leather.

12 Knights: These are both the lords elite soldiers, and escorts for when he is outside the castle. Usually mounted most of the time, the knights mostly use long iron sword as their main weapon of choice and wear a more sturdier version of chain-mail.

Notable Members-

Captain Antoine Blaine: The breton who is in charge of the soldiers hired to protect the lord, Antoine Blaine is a man of mystery. He has fought his own share of battles, and instead of retiring, he was hand-picked by the nobleman to run the security of his castle. The captain is a perfectionist and requires everything to be done correctly, and has a strict attitude to match.

ANTICLERE

COMMANDER: Leonard Fontaine (Breton, 27):
Leonard (often called Leon) yet cunning and courageous, is another serious man. He features short blond hair, which is rounded about the top of his head. It is trimmed in such a way to where it does not curl beyond his hair base, but each waves in his great flat stalk of hair. His head is quite rounded, his squinty blue eyes staring out as an eagle unto the wind. He stands at 5'10, having a rather lean body. Leonard is very prideful of Anticlere, which is his home town. Leonard often wears clean steel plate, mail covering his joints. He fights fiercely in battle with his perfect steel longsword, which boasts a sharp point. The sword itself shows engravings, reading "leviathan" from the hilt to the upper blade on one side, showing the actually leviathan on the other side. He carries a steel round shield similar to Darius'. His other weapon is a lance, which he uses when mounted on his warhorse. Leonard, even though only having a mediocre magic skill, commands the ten "Guards of the Leviathan".

Bhoriane, Keep

Looking up at the fool blatthering from a balcony, Elusmyr turned to one of his bodyguards and said "Kill him.". The guard shot an erea of effect fire spell at the balconey which would cover the area, and and the other bodyguard unleashed a precise lightning bolt aimed directly and speedily at the governer.

Turning to a Captain in the Direnni force, he commanded him to have archers and mages take the walls of the keep, and to burn anything which came near.

The soldiers were all in the castle now, and soon they would close the gate.

Returning his attention to the diplomat, he nodded. "My bodyguards and maybe a few royal battlemages can take us there without trouble from commoners. They aren't much from fighting fireballs with pitchforks, in my experience." A few battlemages were in the court, and Elusmyr called to them, and they arrived and received their orders to the a few more.

"So, are you ready to leave?"

Assembly

"Enough." said Listien calmly but sternly as he saw Daric take an aggressive step forward. "Clearly Wayrests' sight has been clouded by the fear of the smaller kingdoms rebelling. Reason is beyond you.... for now at least."

He looked around the room, continuing. "I think perhaps we are done here for now, before relations grow worse between our states. You will be provided with a room, in our finest inn, The Glowing Staff, and will be given dinner for tonight at the inn. You may stay within our city as long as you wish and will be called when the Assembly has reached an agreement. Or you may leave now, or tomorrow morning. You will find any mounts you may have brought at the stables outside the city."

He bowed slightly but respectfully. "Good day to you sir."

And with that, he swept out of the room, as the Senators broke out into general babble as they dispersed. Daric had returned to his throne and remained there, with his chin in his palm and a sour look on his face.

OOC: Sorry wolly but im to busy to be in this at the moment. Maybe sometime in the future.

Ri'skar laid dead on the floor of his mansion. It seemed an assassin was tired of his preachings of peace and had to shut him up. Its the end of a long road for a good man.

IC:

Phillip, Bhoriane, Keep

Phillip nodded his head at the Direnni lord's words. He looked over at the returning Dem-Na, who had the Argonians behind her, along with some of the rebels.

"Let's get to that gate, and get you out of this city. Follow me, let's avoid going through the city streets. It's best to keep quiet. We'll be going underground to the south-west gate. Get your guardsmen. Let's go."

Phillip nodded at the others, and the poured out of the building into a large courtyard, which apparently was blocked off from the rest of the city. One of the Argonians came forth holding a key, which had been recovered from a key box in the building. The Argonian walked over to a large man-hole, which appeared to be some sort of secret tunnel, bearing five ladders circling its interior; he unlocked the large lock on it, and two other Argonians, bulky ones, helped him pull the metal chain cap off of it. Phillip looked up at the Direnni Lord.

"I used to be a watchman. This is a secret passage designed for the King here long ago, before the government was changed after Wayrest grabbed a better hold on the place. We can get out here through there."

Phillip looked back up at his rebel men, and established an order, silencing their blabbering.

"Rebels, stay here and make sure no one follows us. I want any and every Wayrestian official you find in custody. Go out and fetch them, bring them here, and lock them in the prison on the other side of the keep. Dem-Na, gather ten Xa-Ku to come with us. Black-Eyes, I want you to find out what is going on in the streets. See what the Wayrestians are up to."

The group talked for a minute, getting their orders all straightened out. Dem-Na picked his ten lizards, and Phillip looked back at the Emperor.

"We'll go first. Let's open this damn thing."

Phillip proceeded down the ladder, and everyone followed.

Castle Orsinium, Private Quarters of Commander Ming

Ming stopped herself from blurting out the first thought that came to her, realizing her impatience would get the best of her unless she relaxed.
She sighed loudly, hoping her frustration would be as apparent as her distaste for politics.

"I cannot commit our country nor it's military force without the consent of my king. As I believe I failed to mention, all of my propositions were merely theoretical. Until milord has arrived to sit with you himself, I'm afraid this discussion cannot proceed. If you'd like to stay for a night to see how we function here I can arrange for a room to be cleared for your use. King Durgap should available within the next two days. If you feel you've exhausted further discussion then feel free to leave whenever you like. All I ask is that upon returning to your King, you reassure him that Orsinium will remain nuetral until provoked. We have no business in this conflict as far as I'm concerned, although ultimately it is up to my King to decide the fate of his country. I'm afraid I'll have to excuse myself as I have extremely important matters to attend to. It was a pleasure to have spoken with you Arnad. If you decide to stay for the night, please ask one of the servants for an available room and I'll be sure to have one prepared."

With that, Ming stood, bowed to her guest and exited her quarters. She quickly arranged for a room to be cleared and made her way to the courtyard.

Where are you love? she asked the grey, sickly-looking sky as a hard tug of wind seemed to blur her mind and heart with anxiety.

Keep
"Wait. Wait. Wait. You want me to come into your camp with you? Without guards? What I meant was that I'd come to the gates to see you off. It's not that I don't trust you, but certain precautions are expected of me, and away from here I would be neither able to co-ordinate efforts here or react to a situation. No, I'll send a diplomat. Also, the castle is full of Direnni soldiers, so you don't have to worry. Apart from a few officials who've locked themselves in the highest floor, apparently. And friend, the transfer isn't complete yet. If you want things done, ask my guards. " Elusmyr grabbed a seal from one of his scribes and through it to the diplomat, turning to the scribe he said "Fetch a diplomat, Thomasth, maybe. Send him down after these kind men into the sewers."

"As soon as your return with news of your leader's decision, I shall begin evacuation." Elusmyr continued cautiously.

Bhoriane Keep, Phillip

Phillip was surprised at the Lord's response, seeing as he must have misunderstood.

"Lord, we aren't going out of this city. You may wait at the gate for the decision, first, lets get to the gate and open it. We are going to open the gate..."

Phillip nodded, and climbed down into the sewer, saying something to Dem-Na, and pointing forward. The men all began to pour into the sewers, walking in the direction of the south west gate.

Louis, Ciel, Chevalier Territory (between Kambria and Koegria)

"Good work Ciel..."

Louis nodded with a smirk at the young war-thirsty man. The engineers had already started on the fort, getting off to a good pace. Louis then turned to a more serious tone, eying the Kambrian general with the same no-nonsense military stare that all the men used.

"Now, lets set up that ambush. Are your men ready?"

Ciel stared back, acknowledging him.

"Yes, lets go..."

Horkoth Tribe, Wrothgarian Mountains

Durgap lowered himself onto the rocky terrain of the Wrothgarians. Already memories of his desperate childhood stirred in him a feeling of pity for his Horkoth brethren and their struggle to maintain peace and civilty in such rugged conditions. He swore a silent oath to himself to relocate the Horkoth somewhere far more suitable for subordinates and clan-friends as loyal as they.

Before he could pass the high log-wall barriers into their camp, a set of guards standing on either side of each other halted him with iron halberds and an expression as war-battered and blank as it was depressing.

"Halt!" One of the Orc grumbled, his spear aimed directly at Durgap's chest. "State your name and what it is you've trekked the mountain passes to acquire or deliver? I warn you now though; should we find you threatening to the women and children of the Horkoth and everything we hold near and dear to our hearts, we will kill you without hesitation."

Durgap noticed the Orc's lip tremble some and then ease back out into it's usual contorted form. The man had probably recited that line more times than he could count and acted on them by coating his spear in fresh layers of blood and gore more times than not. For this, and for his loyalty to the tribe, Durgap felt more humbled then he could stand to bear. He wanted to wrap his burly arms around the Orc, place him on his own horse in his own saddle, and send him back to Castle Orsinium to be treated as royalty.

As pleasing as the thought may have been, King Durgap knew it was unrealistic. The Horkoth were better off having the Orc in their ranks than in his own private militia. Still, he would definitely put in a word for the Orc once he had the time to.

"Your loyalty to your tribe and my own lifts a burden off my back, trooper. I am King Durgap of Orsinium, child of the Horkoth Tribe, clan-brother of Chief Horkoth. I've come to assist your Chief in liberating the contry-side from the Orc rebellions that plague you. My seal is here." Raising his ring finger so that the Orc guard could squint and see it's delicate design, Durgap relaxed some as he expected praise or something along those predictable lines.

The Orc pulled back from Durgap's hand, glanced at the guard opposite of him, and raised his spear to Durgap's chest.

"I know not what madness provokes you stranger, but I've already seen the seal of milord King Durgap, savior of the Orc people, and he looked nothing like you. Nor has he left the company of the tribes. Either you're a spy or a madman. I'll ask once more, who are you?" The Orc guard hissed at Durgap, stepping forward slowly, prepping himself to lunge forward at a moments hesistation.

History/Bio: Lord Isaac was raised in the Castle of Glenpoint, his father Phillip Harrowath II was a loyal friend to the King of Daggerfall for many years. Isaac was never close to his father. Phillip van Ert was a wasteful ruler, he spent his way into debt. When Isaac's mother and father died within a year of each other at the age of 21 he was left with the throne. Surrounded by friends and advisors Glenpoint has just emerged from debt and this spring will be first of many in which Glenpoint can bring weight to foreign affairs, with its people happy and sporting a solid military Isaac has to choose between his father's beloved Daggerfall or to join an alliance with Anticlere.

Castle Glenpoint
Spring, 4e150

The throne room lay barren, half spent candles flickered against bare stone walls, now void of tapestries. A single brown carpet rolled from the main doors to the steps of the dais, the throne a simple high backed oak chair of fine engravings. Rows of long simple tables marked where nobles would sit during celebratory banquets. A few advisors and the higher ranked nobles now filled the first tables on either side waiting the arrival of their master.

Hails of conversation flowed from chair to chair, from raised taxes on minerals from the Illessan Hills to skirmishes in Bhoriane. Rumors of war naturally spread throughout the tides of conversation much faster than those of peace. The squabbling politicians were hushed by the announcement of arrival, the herald standing beside the large double doors had malletted a small gong before announcing.

" His grace, Lord Issac van Ert, Marquis of Glenpoint, Count of Arkmoth and Lord of Lamley"

A formal applaud proceeded.

Lord Isaac, two personal bodyguards (both Knights of the Owl), and Patriarch Loran of the Resolution of Zenithar.

Isaac proceeded down the walkway, his black boots clip clapping in the silence, his body guards stopped at the bottom of the dais and the Patriarch stood to the right of his throne. Isaac stopped before seating himself ," Your eminence."

Patriarch Loran stepped forward raising his hand " By the Grace of Zenithar may this meeting prove profitable. Amen"

" Amen"

Isaac sat. " As you all know, Urvaius and Anticlere have begun waging war against Wayrest. Bhoriane has become their target, and it is to my understanding Direnni and Wayrestian forces occupy the county seat and that sieging forces from Urvaius, Anticlere, seceeding nobles and hired mercenaries are attempting to siege the town."

he let the words sink in, hushed whispers grew between the court.

" We have long been Vassals of the Grand Kingdom of Daggerfall, as you know my father was friends with his Majesty. I however am not. I propose an envoy to renew relations with Daggerfall, we will leave in the morning. I wish the Count Ivan of Arkhead, Baron Harold of Horbrugh and Commander Forrester of Oxtown to accompany me with their bodyguards and head advisor. Patriarch Loran and my Knightly bodyguards will accompany me."

The court showed their approval in silence, Lords Ivan, Harold and Forrester stood first after Isaac and accompanied him in their planning.

Orsinium
-----------
As Lady Ming departed, Arnad got up from his seat. He took a moment to visually evaluate the room before he proceeded into the hallway. He then found one of the servants, and was taken to the room that was cleared for him. With the door closed, and Arnad now alone, he began searching the room for any means of spying. After finding none, he sat down on the bed to plan his next course of action.

Kambria
----------------
Octavius Metellus laughed as he turned around and left Castle Kambria. When he reached the door, he yelled out "If you want some real authority over your city, Wayrest is always willing to help you, Daric." With that last sentence, the aggressive diplomat left with his escorts, who retrieved their weapons and horses from the courtyard. They then rode their horses out of the city and westward. Once a good distance away from the city, Octavius spoke to his men.

"Alright, you all know the drill. We meet the ferryman in Camlorn, he takes us to Daggerfall, we board a ship to Wayrest. Everything considered, I don't want to risk going the land route twice."

Elusmyr felt stupid for misunderstanding Philip. But continued irrelevant, shooing away the diplomats. Elusmyr gathered his bodyguards, and departed the keep, entering into the dark dank sewers.

The sewers were filthy, and full of grime, but they travelled on nonetheless, Elusmyr's bodyguards shielding him fro mthe smell and human waste with shield spells. Eventually they reached a round wooden entrance, which was attached to the sewers' roof. One of Elusmyr's bodyguard's climbed up the ladder and pushed open the door, walking into an old basemant under the gatehouse. The rest of Elusmyr's entourage followed shortly after. Moving up a stairs, they entered the main room of the keep, where they found guards gathered around a large table playing dice games.

They quickly sprung to attention reaching for their swords, but relaxed when they recognised the emperor and his bodyguards. They quickly bowed.

"Milord, we are honoured by your presence. What brings you here?"

"Open the gates." He said without embellishment. The guards nodded and quickly moved to the mechanisms that opened the gate. Pushing, they opened it completely after a few minutes.

Elusmyr nodded. "You have done well. Remain here, let anyone who attempts to enter through. Farewell."

Turning to Philip, Elusmyr asked "So. Shall we return to the keep?"

Glenpoint

Lords Issac, Ivan and Harold rode on sturdy warhorses, the coffers of the county did not allow for horses of esquisite stock. The envoy had a total of three hundred mounted men, the three lords, the Patriarch, the Commander and all of their assosciate advisors and 280 men at arms a hundred of which were Knights of the Owl. The exited quietly out of the south gate, the common folk did little to acknowledge the procession. The people of Glenpoint had a tendancy of being loyal and the rulers generally did not require much else from them.

Loran studied the Lord Isaac's subjects as the rode by. " They understand the tidings of Zenithar, they grasp his concept that time is money m'lord." The Marquis kept his pace and replied with a slow and steady nod, his eyes burned to the south. To Daggerfall, they would be there by night the next day and he expected his envoy to be prepared for negotiations with the King. The Capets were known for being much ore devious then the public were allowed to believe, even amongst the court they hid their subtleties. There were even myths his majesty had a room that vanished to scare off would be assassins.

The fields turned to forest only a few miles out of the city, well trimmed to mark the range of the walls batteries. The southern road would lead straight to Daggerfall's Northern Gate. Isaac was hoping the King would be willing to greet them himself.

OOC:

Thought I would bump the story with my envoy leaving Glenpoint for Daggerfall, to meet with King Gothryd about renewing the friendship between the two regions.

Gothryd felt oddly worn out. He hadn't slept too well last night and the delegation from Ilessan did little to calm his thoughts; it only raised more questions, as the meeting was pushed back further and the guests allowed to leave to settle in their quarters for the meantime, so they could rest after the journey before the proper meeting with the king took place. They probably didn't actually feel all that weary, the pushing back had more to do with the ruler of Daggerfall suddenly feeling rather ill. He had allowed a healer to inspect him briefly, however no one was surprised - although the rumours about the king's madness lacked serious proof, the fact that his health was deteriorating was undeniably true and some wondered what would happen if the king were to fall ill.

Of course, Gothryd himself wasn't worried. Though he was still quite young and fit, illnesses plagued him more often since becomming king, his health declining as the stress increased; this was actually part of the reason why he had stopped exercising with the royal guard, as the healers recommended he lessen the strain on himself as much as possible to avoid serious trouble. By now he was used to the fits of weakness. They came and passed just as his fits of rage did, yet the king recovered every time; this time had no reason to be any different. Despite sitting on the throne of Daggerfall for several years now, Gothryd still wasn't adjusted to it; he wondered if he ever really would, actually, for his father always suffered from similar bouts of illness, sometimes accompanied by weak-willedness by the end of his life. Those times were Gothryd's first steps as a ruler.

"Your majesty..?" Deep in thought and distracted by his health, Gothryd hadn't noticed a servant present himself before his throne. Wondering what could be the matter now, the monarch waved impatiently for him to disperse with the formalities and get on to the core of the matter. The servants in the court of Daggerfall were, by now, adept at reading the king's emotions from his gestures, so the man, rather worried because of the king's bad mood, did as told:

"The marquis of Glenpoint has arrived with an escort of three hundred men and wishes to meet with your majesty. Shall he be informed that your majesty is not feeling well-"

"Make no presumptions about my health." Gothryd's face went from a slightly green one of indifference to one of anger with a surprising swiftness. "I still am king of my own body, and my realm. Tell the marquis he is to present himself before his liege immediately."

Someone new to the court might've been taken aback by the king's sudden change, however Gothryd made a point of regularly firing those servants he did not find to his liking; as a result, only those who knew the king's personality and could tend to his every whim with the most efficience and the least explanations were left to serve him. The servant's face did not change at all when the king suddenly assailed him thus; he merely bowed and left the monarch's presence as fast as he could, careful not to upset him further. Of course, the wording of Gothryd's response would have to be changed quite a bit, but the gist of the message was clear and would be passed on to the marquis once he arrived - the king was ready to meet him.

Ciel

Ciel nodded as well as he watched his men begin work on the fort that would soon dot the landscape. He turned back to Louis as the man spoke of the upcoming ambush, one that Ciel planned on taking part in, whether he was supposed to or not.

"Only a handful of my men will be participating in this and they shall do so with no markings of Kambria upon them. I should not even be participating in this at all." he paused and observed as his men fell into line behind him, though clearly not all one hundred and twenty were present.

"Only thirty will come." he explained, pointing to the small group of men behind him, the majority armed with bows or javelins and only a dozen armed with the standard spears and hoplon shields of the heavy infantry. Each man, instead of bearing the the crest of Kambria on their tunics or shields had covered these things up, and instead they had bright orange armbands tied around their biceps to identify them as men of Kambria once battle was joined.

"As for the plan, I know nothing of the surrounding land so I think it best for you to choose the location."

Assembly

Daric froze as the man shouted out his last words before leaving the room completely. As the men in the room began leaving, Daric remained seating with his eyes closed as his mind raced, those last words echoing in his brain. He raised his head as footsteps neared him and he looked up to see Alix a dozen feet away from him with a grim look on his face.

"Do not let those words affect you old friend." he said darkly. "Wayrest can promise nothing of the sort and it would be foolish to try anything of the sort. Kambria has been run smoothly with the Assembly for years and the people are happy."

he walked forward and patted the man on the shoulder. "Forget the words my friend. They will only drive you insane otherwise."

He began walking away from Darius, but stopped in the middle of the room. "I am leaving tonight for Meir Darguard, as instructed by the Assembly. Hopefully they will prove more helpful than Wayrest has. Good bye for now my friend."

With that he swept out of the hall, leaving the troubled King with his troubled thoughts.

I'm sick. Lets get moving. Blademaster, tell me if you want Camlorn. I need someone to take it, and you are fit for the job. From there, we should have enough people to succeed if Darkom/Dren are still in this. Walrus, Ravanger, lets get moving. Heldwyn's post will be a few days in the future. I really want to get off day 5...

A lot of people have quit, but we only need a few good people to keep this going. Lets do this guys!

IC:

William, Leonard, outside Bhoriane

"Go! Go! Go!"

34,000 hooves beat across the plains of High Rock, 8,500 horses made their way towards the gate. The gates were now fully risen; any guardsman standing there could see the wave of soldiers coming out of the forest- and they just kept coming. Heavies in front, they began to rush into the city, and with that any citizen or soldier not yet in a building made their way into one at the sound of the deadly hooves. Soon enough the noble forces, Anticlerians, and Urvaiusians would have the city occupied. By the time they had reached the city the Wayrestians were packed up and leaving; however, one could still see the tail of their large fleet heading in that direction.

The air seemed to drift across the city as silent streets were struck by the awe of warhorses, shattering the air as they came through with their mighty warriors upon them. A man of obviously high rank pulled his horse into the keep stables, followed by about 30 other knights. He dismounted drawing his sword, and let out a cry. He was Leonard, head of the Anticlerian forces sent to the city.

"Find every Wayrestian official and bring them to the courtyard of the keep! Go! Go!"

The men set out, armor on, weapons in hand. It was time.
