Well, for those of us still interested in this, I think it's time I bring you the latest going-ons of the mod, since I haven't spoken about what I've been doing, so I thought you all deserved the news.
I'm basically still writing up questions for the Divinology exam. It isn't exactly a difficult job, or a long one, but I've been very busy for the past couple of weeks with schoolwork, so I haven't been devoting as much time as I'd like to this mod. I'm about 60 questions into the exam, and expect the exam pool to be a potential 80 questions. The final exam will be 20 questions long, so you'll all be glad to hear that no final exam will be exactly the same.
Upon finishing the questions for the final, I just need to write in a short synopsis in note form of the lectures, which should take a normal amount of time. After I finish that, I will be completely finished with Divinology and can begin writing material for a new subject.
I must give everyone in here a warning, however... The amount of writing needed to be done to make this mod work is extraneous. You can imagine it yourselves, the Divinology lectures alone took 30 MS Word pages, without any double-spacing and 12 pt. font. That's A LOT of writing, and seeing how there will be around six more like it, you can't really expect this mod to be finished anytime soon. All of this doesn't even include the exam questions, synopsis's dialogue, etc. Basically, when I'm finished with this mod, I'll probably have enough writing material to write a couple of novels at worst.
While I've no intention of quitting this mod any time soon, I ask you to please bear with me on this one, it's a lot of work for a couple of people to complete.
I also thought I'd use this post to discuss certain things like final exam difficulty and my decision to include a synopsis of the class in this mod.
Let's face it, not everyone is a genius, and not everyone has a large span of time to play this game straight out, which led me to make certain decisions. The final will be composed of 20 questions, taken from a pool, and will be very easy. There are obviously going to be a couple curve balls in there, but those will simply be caused by not reading the question fully or understanding the concepts. This is both good for you and for me, since it allows me, who is not an Education major, to just ask simple questions, rather than brainstorm the type of questions that would be productive and counter-productive. This is good for you since it allows you not to have to strain too hard to get a good score on the final and thus receive decent bonuses in your skills and attributes. You will have an infinite amount of time to take the final, so there's no rush. I understand this all seems like this'll be The Imperial High School instead of University, but I don't want to make this mod too difficult. In the mod's defense, there will be plenty of topics covered, so the player will still need to have a decent memory in order to remember all the things that you'll cover. It's no where near the level of an actual university course, but then again, that wasn't my intention.
Now, about the synopsis... These summaries will include the important parts of the lecture in summary form. In other words, it is fully possible to get a 100% on the exam by reading these summaries. This might seem odd, but you need to remember that not everyone has the time to play this mod straight out, they might take breaks, maybe hours, days, or maybe even months without playing Oblivion or going to University. I need to give these people a method to still do well. Of course, they still need to be prepared and bring their writing quill and a notebook to lectures in order to copy the notes down, and they need to actually read them, otherwise they are simply worthless.
I hope you can all understand why I decided the things I did. If you've any suggestions, feel free to tell me.
