Unkown Adversaries

As the redguard newcomer made himself heard, Jimri added her own opinion. "That might sound hard to believe for you, with us bosmer gals's repute for having our heads so empty that lust as grown to fill it all, but I'm wearing what's left of the nightgown I was sleeping in before I woke up down here. Not what I'd wear for a walk on the street, or going on a sewer dive or anywhere out of a bedroom. But I'd rather be half naked and out of there than decent and in."

She returned to the bedroom, following Odessa and Nola's exploration, cursing under he breath as a quick check of the dresser didn't turn much clothing. Turning to the bed, she pulled out one sheets, folding and draping it on herself like a pareo. Not the most convenient thing to wear, but if things turn sour I can get out of it quickly enough. and it will keep some warmth, it's quite cold here in the underground..

Seing Odessa picking the jewel she frowned "Judging from the way it's displayed this jewel matters much to our 'host'. You'd better make sure it's not enchanted against theft or to act as some kind of beacon. Once we're somewhere safer I might be able to check if you don't mind me having a look at it."

as Nola and the redguard discussed about her hiding place, Jiri quickly realised those firends were probably thieves Well, I don't mind thieves, I've learned a lot of my trade form their ilk, even if I'm moving in snobbier circles "From the sound of it your friends aren't of the sort to mind if we come in impromptu and in our conditions. Sounds fine for me, I've a few peoples I can get in touch with, but I wouldn't show up at their place before a bath and some clothes."

Nola grinned at Jimri, suspecting the woman had guessed who she was talking about. "You could do a lot worse than stink and be naked and not lift an eyebrow with my crowd," she informed the bosmer. "And I didn't hear that about bosmer- and I'm khajiit, so you'd think if anyone'd start such rumours, I would." She winked, referring to the old bosmeri/khajiiti rivalry, although as an Ohmes she was less opposed to the elves than others of her kind, having a lot in common with them.

Turning to Odessa, she said, "Are you sure you want to keep that? I don't think it's the wisest decision you could make. What if he comes looking for it?" For all Nola was associated with thieves, she wasn't one herself, and didn't see the appeal in taking stuff from other people.

Odessa, however, only gripped the amulet tighter and gave the ohmes a fierce look.

Concerned, Nola said, "Alright, have it your way."

OOC: Is every one in the room? We're about to have a change of scenery. If you're not in the room lets assume you are. I don't want it to take another 8 pages to get out like in the last thread.

IC:

Kalort

"I think that necklace is a bad news Odessa. This entire room gives me chills." Kalort said as he deposited Tiberius onto the bed beside him, knocking the mirror of the dresser as he bent over. A few things happened at once as it shattered; a gust of wind, seemingly from nowhere, bellowed about the room and the candles flickered blue for a second before turning back to their normal hue. Kalort froze where he was, feeling like a child that had just broken his mothers favourite ornament, freezing at the scene of the crime instead of diving under her bed and blaming it on the cat. A few seconds passed and he relaxed, they where evidently safe, or as safe as they could be while being held hostage by a homicidal maniac who nails leather to his face.

"Nola is that alchemy equipment?" He asked as he crouched down and examined the now floor bound contents of the bag. "Does anybody know how to mix potions? Do you think you could make something for Church? He's getting a little heavy."

Another breeze sent a chill around his body, growing frustrated he sprang to his feet, he knew where the pirate was now, he intended to find his hiding place. Pacing over to the book case he began to slide it forwards, searching for the secret entrance behind it before sending it toppling over to the ground, its contents scattered across the room as their home splintered on the hard floor. The resounding crash made Kalort cringe. He was starting to become his old self again it seemed. The wall behind the book case was solid, apparently the sailor hadn't found a way out in this room, so where was he?

"Sorry.. I thought maybe Salt-" He apologized, cut off as his eyes where torn from Nola, whom he'd nearly crushed, to the hallway outside. Every internal organ in his body tried to leap out of his throat and make their own escape as his blood's temperature dropped dramatically. Leather face stood their, the air seemed to shimmer around him in fury as he looked upon them defacing the room. Light flickered around his hand, orbs of purple light joining together and spiralling around his arm.

"DUCK!" Kalort shouted, jumping forward into the door, forcing it shut at the mage released the energy. No sound of impact came, no splintering wood behind him. He felt no pain, maybe they where all dead and this was their afterlife. No, Tiberius would be awake if this was the after life.. he thought to himself, not knowing why he'd be awake.

"Should I open it again?" He asked the group at large, his insides still wrestling with each other to get to the exit first.

"What is your prob-!" Nola began as the bookshelf crashed down next to her, when her senses screamed and her eyes went to the door, where leather face stood, magic at the ready, the torturer out of her nightmares.

"No bloody way is that a clever idea..." Nola said, but she was already stepping towards the door. Reaching for the handle. "Can it really be him?" she murmured. "Would a simple door keep him out?"

Powerful shielder though she was, she doubted she could fend off leather-faces' magic- or at least, it was always best to assume your were weaker than your attacker, lest you miscalculate and die as a result. But she had a strong feeling that he was not really there, or that, at least, their was some way thay could get past him to safety. "It's this way or no way, I suppose..."

But, if he was there, they'd have to move quick. She remembered Church, his heavy weight was definately going to slow Kalort down.

She could fix that. But she didn't want to make her power all that obvious- the Emperor would execute her for secretly being a mage- afterall, only the guilty party would do so, in his mind. "I'm sure he's not that heavy..." she said slyly, walking over and putting her hands under his armpits. As she lifted, she whispered a feather spell, and, without even a glow of magic to mark its presence, Church suddenly lifted as if he were a five year old girl and not a grown man. "Here you are," she said, carrying him easily over to Kalort.

She looked around at the group. "If any of you tattle on me," she added in an undertone, knowing nobody could have missed what had happened there- no woman of her stature could be that strong. "I will probably die painfully on that island of his, so let's keep this our little secret and use it to work against old leather face, eh?" She blinked her amber eyes nervously, tongue licking along her fangs.

When Kalort started tearing the furntture appart, she gave him a wide berth - but when she heard the cry to duck, she didn't think for anytime before diving to the ground, landing flat and sticking to the bed for what cover it might offer.... Which didn't prevent her from seeing the leatherfaced mage just before he slammed the door shut.

"Unless it's the only exit... I'd say no. Unfortunately that seems to be the only one..."

As Nola picked the unconscious man and commented about her little secret, she grinned "Can't give you a hard time about it, I've learned a tricks or two before our beloved Emperor saw fit to outlaw them. I might be able to mess his magic a little bit, but don't count on more than throwing his aim a bit off."

While speaking, she quickly gathered the alchemy supplies into a sheet she had pulled from the dresser when looking for clothes, keeping only the lightest and least fragile of it.

OOC: Heh, throw his aim off. He doesn't aim. He shoots area of effect death !!!

IC:

"How did you?" Kalort asked, bemused as Nola picked up Tiberius easier than he and passed him over like a rag doll. "Well, he does seem lighter.. Or maybe I'm stronger.. Yeah I've probably gotten stronger, I hear adrenaline can do that to you." He was starting to show signs of his old personality and slow mind yet again, he was by no means unintelligent, he was just a slow genius.

"Now people, it's the only exit. I say we scream and run, hopefully screaming will knock him off guard, if we all split up and meet up later we may have a better chance at this. On three." He said to the group at large, shrugging the less-than-dead weight of Tiberius into a more stable position. Not waiting for agreement.

"One.. Two.. Three!" he cried at the top of his voice as he threw the door wide and pelted out, sliding across the wet smooth floor in the gloom. He barely kept his balance as he met the end of a ledge, wobbling for a few seconds before falling off the drop.

Laying there winded, church a few feet behind him on the floor, he looked up at the only source of light, the room he had just left. They where some where else now, not the hallway. It looked more like the imperial city sewers, he had just run blindly off a ledge when there where some stairs he could have taken to the left along the wall. The familiar smell of fresh water tested his nostrils as his eyes adjusted to the gloom.

"I don't think we need to split up any more." He called upwards to the room, his head dropping to the floor as he greedily drank all the air he could after being winded. The sound of fighting could be heard in the distance, maybe these where the intruders the gaunt faced man had spoke of.

Leather Face

A bolt of purple liked hit the door and carried on moving, its momentum growing as more object collided with it. Tearing the contents of the room to piles of twisted metal and smouldering wood. Water began to cascade through as the ceiling was hit by the spell. They had escaped, this was not the room he had seen them in, it was empty save for a few caged animals.

The water was filling the room in earnest now, slaughter fish began falling through the hole as it poured in, sunlight tried fruitlessly to break through and light the interior. Soon enough the entire complex would be flooded as Rumare cleansed the leather faced mans sins.

The water stopped at the entrance to the room, blocked by an invisible force, it just began to fill the room like an obscure aquarium of horrific aquatic life. The shield spell unperturbed by the waters presence.

"I'll be sure to keep an eye on you, master Redguard, lest I get caught in a trap by your flatterer's tongue," the Ohmes snapped at him.
"You flatter me, milady," said Sorian with a mocking grin.

The other female, Bosmer, also responded to his probing.
"That might sound hard to believe for you, with us bosmer gals's repute for having our heads so empty that lust has grown to fill it all, but I'm wearing what's left of the nightgown I was sleeping in before I woke up down here. Not what I'd wear for a walk on the street, or going on a sewer dive or anywhere out of a bedroom. But I'd rather be half naked and out of there than decent and in."
"I'm sure you are, milady. I believe we will all feel much better when we are somewhere far from here."

Then everything happened very quickly. Something broke and crashed to the floor, the candles that illuminated the chamber had been blown out, a bookshelf was upturned and then the other Redguard shouted something in an urgent voice. Sorian turned and just managed to see their captor's image, prepared to fling a spell at them. Then the Redguard smashed the door close into his face.
As if that will stop him, you fool! Sorian wanted to shout out loud but decided not to. Seconds passed and nothing happened. We should be dead by now.

The other Redguard was apparently trying to mount a frontal attack, but Sorian had a different idea.
Let the man attack and while he is being devoured by the mage, I slip by or attack him in the back. One loss for us for killing that bastard... I'd say that's a win situation.

As Kalort made his rush to the door, Jimri didn't follow, unsure of what she should do. Even if she might deflect a bit some spell, th mag had seemed intent on try to fry the whole room... yeah right, ip ut my hand in front of my eyes so I can se all all of me is turned to crisp... it would probably do me that much good.

As she didn't hear the expected conflagration, but only the sound of someone big falling on the ground, then the redgaurd's voice saying "I don't think we need to split up any more.", Jim moved to the door, seeing tht it oddly did no longer open on the room with it's horribly filled tanks, but rather on what her night vision, though a far cry from thta of khajit, could make out as a large vaulted passage, where she could hear and smell some running water.

she backed out a bit, picking a piece of the broken bookcase and laying it in the door's treshold. "I don't have the slighest idea about why this door leads toa diffrent room each time it's opened, but now that it seems to lead out, I don't want it closed !"

Then she moved through, feeling under her feet the wet smoothness of a stone flooring, moving down the short flight of stairs to reach Kalort "Are you fine ? And Church ?"

While wondering how this place could smell of freshwater rather than sewage, before figuring it out That must be the overflow from some fountain or bassin. Most is flushed down the common sewers to keep the from getting clogged, but some is probably dumped out. Or maybe leatherface's tantrum has poked a hole to the lake...

Odessa looked out at the sewer waters, swishing her tail. This place... it is familiar to me... but... where did all this water come from? she wondered. Cautiously, she stepped out into the new escape route, gazing around uncertainly.

"Why has this all changed?" she asked aloud. "What magic is this?"

She padded on scaly feet down to where Kalort and Church lay crumpled, but did not check on them, instead still peering around, the amulet clutched tightly in her hands. She wanted out of this place. And she wanted out now.

---------------

Nola barely noticed a change in light, her eyes adjusting easily to any differences. However, the smell that hit her nostrils confused her. "Is there some kind ogf leakage here?" she asked. "Where is all this freshwater coming from?"

She sniffed again, and with her keen eyes focused on the edge of the water, as it swayed up and down- more than a sewer should... and a little higher every moment. "Guys, I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I think we may just drown in here..." she commented faintly.

Her amber eyes focused in on the bosmer. "Jimri, can you cast water breathing? If we're here too long, we're gonna need it, and I doubt I can do for everyone here..."

"I can breathe underwater..." Odessa commented, almost absently. She seemed distant, her mind in a far off place. "Or at least... I think I can..."

"...Great," Nola replied, her temper rising somewhat, though she tried to make allowances for that fact that this woman had been put through more torture than any of the rest of them. "Well, maybe you should try and keep some of the others afloat then, or something." The argonian didn't reply, and Nola swore under her breath.

She reached offered a hand to Kalort, to help him get back on his feet, and looked back at Sorian and the others. "We need to get moving," she reiterated again. "Or I strongly suspect we'll be sleeping with the fishies."

If this is from the lake... she thought suddenly. If this is from the lake, we could actually be sleeping with the fishies...

Oh Gods, please don't let this be from the lake... not slaughterfish in the dark and weaponless...

"Well, girls can drown too... It truly pains me to dissapoint you Nola, but I don't have any training in alteration magic. Only healing and a little bit of detection and dispelling. I'm an artist - singing, dancing, theater, that sort of thing - not a mage."

She looked at hte water trying to guesstimate how fast it moved up.

"Though the good news is that this means the water is flowing in from there" pointing a direction in the passage "and out of there" pointing at the other. "If we don't waste time, odds are we can get to the exit or catch some upward passage before it gets too high. And at least I know how to swim.". Addig for herself "though I won't do it drapped in a sheet like that..."

she took it off, wraping it around the bundle of alchemical supplies and tying it into a makeshift beggar's bag before slingign it on her shoulder. "I'm ready to go."

Magic, Sorian thought to himself as the door opened to a completely different place than a moment before. I nearly understand why Emperor Ocato feared it so much to imprison all the mages.

That explains what happened to Seltairi. I wonder where ended up.

Then the water came in and Sorian's instincts suggested that the water was not a welcoming sight.
"We need to get moving," The Ohmes said. "Or I strongly suspect we'll be sleeping with the fishies."

"I will not argue with you on that," said Sorian, flashing a smile towards her, though his eyes were wide with fear.
There was no doubt in his mind that they must be somewhere under water or the flow wouldn't be this strong. I don't want to drown like some rat. I'm better than that.

"Run," he said more to himself, it was loud enough for other people to hear him as well.

Then it hit him:
"Unless we are extremely lucky, we will not find a way out of here in time," he said out loud. "Why wouldn't we concoct some water breathing potions? We have the alchemical tools."

Nola didn't get Jimri's initial comment, since neither she nor Odessa were likely to drown, both being able to breathe underwater, but she let it pass. Some folks just didn't make sense to her. "Fair enough," was her response. "I'll take high profile cases then and try and keep them going. Church being a main one."

"I'm ready to go," Jimri added.

Nola looked back at the others. "Then let's go," she said. She found herself cursing, not for the first time, that she hadn't left a Mark in ages. Mark spells were particularly hard to place now with the stupid anti-mage laws in place.

She looked at Sorian. "Do you know how to? I certainly don't. And it'll take too long... we could get caught, or drowned by then. Just try and keep your head up!"

Nola sloshed through the water for a few moments before making a noise like an angry cat. A few whispered words and a moment later and she was running atop the rough, moving surface of the water. It looked awkward, but was less slow than merely slogging through.

"Watch out for whoever else is down here!" she added over her shoulder. "I don't think we're equipped for a fight."

OOC: my god, this RP is positively galloping!

IC: "Do you know how to?" the Ohmes turned to him. "I certainly don't. And it'll take too long... we could get caught, or drowned by then. Just try and keep your head up!"

"I hope we will not regret this decision in the near future. It's too bad about Seltaire," he added. "I rather liked him."

So far, the water was low enough to allow running. That could change very soon.

As they started running wiht the flow - and from the sound of it seemingly away from the fighting, Jimri commented something she had heard about the City' sewer system Having a Sewer Comission bureaucrat trying to impress my by babbling technicalities about the sewer was quite an ordeal, but it seems it has some use

"From what I heard, for the sewer to run right, they must exit at the waterline or higher. Unless there's a trick like the bedroom's moving door, we should be above the lake. that means it's some bassin or aqueduct emptying in here, rather than the whole lake. That improves our odds to reach some exit without having the whole passage filled."

OOC: Galloping is all good to me =) and don't go mourning the pirate to soon, he's a salty sea dog, a bit of water an teleporting rooms wont hurt him.

I need to wake Church up soon, its getting really hard to RP an unconcious guy, or atleast make it interesting.

IC:

Kalort began following the other, waist deep in water. Water which was growing deeper alarmingly fast. Focusing as hard as he could on the noise of fighting to try and guide him, not doing to well over the thunderous roar of water.

"Nola, can you hear fighting? I cant make it out over the water." He cried over the splashing noise of their moving bodies through the water and the cascading waves behind them. "The mage mentioned something about intruders, I assume they are his enemies, perhaps the legion has found us!"

But they wouldn't have a reason to look.. As far as I can tell, none of us are on good terms with the Legion, My self included. He thought to himself as he began to slow down as the water reached he lower chest cavity, Church was growing heavier every second. He roared furiously as pain began to set into his legs, willing himself to push forward and survive the ordeal. Willing himself to escape a fate worse than death.

Water plunged into his lungs as he tripped, fully submerged in the torrent, his hands scrambling across the floor to try and push himself back up; however, they closed around something slightly warm and soft. It felt like a hand.. A hand with a missing finger.

"The pirate! it's the Pirate!" Kalort cried to the group as he dragged himself and Saltaire to the surface, Tiberius floating on the surface meekly behind him, buffered about by the waves in the water. "I think he's alive, he seems to have been knocked unconscious."

OOC: Forgot to mention, i found the salty pirate with FC4's Permish. he's going to fill us in on what happened to him while we where seperated when get gets back.

Nola heard people Kalort yelling and raced back, stumbling over the rising waves of water in the passage. Seeing two nearly drowning, she looked down at herself. Was she really going to do this? She wasn't a strong swimmer at all, and these people meant nothing to her. Did she really care?

"Odessa!" the half-argonian was swimming along, and didn't turn. Nola snarled like a wild cat. "Lizard [censored]! Grab Seltaire, keep his head up! You're a strong enough swimmer!"

She turned to Kalort and Tiberius. "You, up!" she ordered, spelling Kalort to walk on water. She turned to Church. "You, lift!" a bouancy spell caused the imperial to float, light weight, at the top of the water, face up. She pulled off her shirt, thankful of her briastband, and ripped it with her sharp fingernails. She swiftly tied it like a short rope around Tiberius' waist. "Pull him along," she told Kalort, and then shuddered as the weight of all the spells she was maintaining bore down on her. She dispelled her own water-walk and plunged into the water, and, thanks to her short stature, barely kept her head above water.

She began started swimming onwards, lacking skill and energy but somehow keeping herself moving regardless. With water all around her, swirling into her ears she could no longer hear anything very well.

--------------

"Grab Seltaire, keep his head up!" Nola snapped authoratively. Odessa finally looked around, at the group of humans and elves all bobbing along, awash in the sea. She herself felt in her element; the water caused her no discomfort at all.

Should I even bother? she thought wonderingly. Do I care in the least if that pirate lives or dies?

...Well, it could be interesting to watch him die... a voice whispered. Only think how disgusted all the others will be... and the rush you'll get knowing what you've decided.

What?! Who are you? she thought wonderingly.

Why, I'm your scales, hotstuff. We've turned out rather nicely, I think. That breton harlet isn't even poking her nose in, is she?

It would be interesting to watch the pirate drown... to watch all of them drown...

but then they'll be dead... she thought. Dead and betrayed... by me. Do I really want that?

Her scales, whatever that meant, didn't seem to be speaking up. Uncertain, Odessa swam like an eel over to Seltaire and under him. grabbing his arms and wrapping them around her neck. Then, as best as she could and using her strong tail as her main propeller, she swam towards what she hoped was the exit.

OOC: Don't worry folks, Nola'll pass out soon and everyone'll have to swim again. :D Selfless acts don't always work out.

As the water got higher Jimri started to slip and loose her footing - though being small and lightweight comes handy in plenty of situations, in the present one it was more hindrance than help. And neither was the alchmical supllies and equipment she had pilfered I'm damn glad I picked only the lightest stuff. But I'll have to find some way to make it easier to carry.

Soon she gave up any attempt at standing up, feeling a surge of relief of having included quite a lot of swimming in her excercise routines. And also feeling glad that she was swimming in freshwater rather than sewage... But despite her decent skill, she still felt her burden ruining her balance and coming dangerously close to entangle her. With a string of curse - mixed with a lot of ragged breathes and sputtering, she managed to wrigle out of it, letting it go for an unknown destiny There goes my hopes for propriety... and from the feel of it I'll be lucky if I end up with even a shred of my nightgown still on. On the good side, I won't get weighted down

As she left herself be carried over, focusing mostly on staying afloat and keeping her head above the water, when she felt her hand toucing someone, apparently struggling to stay affloat. From the smal lsize and overall curviness, she figured it must be Nola. who's probably my only ticket to someplace safe and a chance for fresh clothing. I can't let her get drowned..

Getting a god hold on her clothes, she helped her to get steady, speaking close to her ear to get over the rushing water's noise "It's Jimri - I'll help you - relax and let me do". Using all the strength and agility built by her training to keep both of them afloat and at least somewhat able to control their direction.

Sorian had the desire to laugh when he heard that the Imperial sailor had been washed up among them. When he tried, the water rushed into his mouth and he had to cough it up again.

He saw the Ohmes casting spells on others and then collapse under the sheer burden of it. He managed to push himself through the water to her side. The Bosmer was already struggling to keep her head above the water but looked like she had her hands fuller than she intended. He immediately grabbed the Ohmes from the other side to relieve the Bosmer somewhat.

"I'll help you!" he said and quickly close his mouth. He was not that thirsty for another swallow.

Sorian knew he was a strong man, but swimming like this was draining even his strength very quickly.

Don't you dare ending with a grate, he cursed the flow they were drowning in.

OOC Gaaah! I'm being left behind... how many posts can you guys squeeze in?

IC
The room had facinated Farin, it was in such a direct contrast to the chambers, just beyond the doorway
Nobody sane would be living this close to a torture chamber
He thought, a renewed sense of horror at the Leatherfaced man filling his mind.
The others began to loot the room,
Only natural
he thought, wondering what kind of people his new aquaintances would turn to be. *Crash* One of the Redguards... Kalort, had knocked over a bookcase making a huge crash. Farin barely had time to react before the man threw himself at the door screaming to duck, Farin just had time to turn around and see the deep purple glow of a spell as the wood shut in the face of their captor. It opened again to pitch blackness which slowly revealed itself as a large vaulted hallway. Farin stepped out of the teleporting room fast, not wanting to go back. The new room, on inspection was filling up with water, with a brief second of hesitation, Farin leapt in after the rest of the group. Anything was better than Leatherface.

Farin had been swept along, just like the rest of them. Thankfully he was a reasonable swimmer and managed to keep himself afloat, riding the flow as some of the others struggled. He was trying to dredge up some of his ancient spell knowledge, he hadn't used any magic for years and the simple water breathing spell took him several attempts, as he tried to cast the half remebered magic and stay afloat. Eventually he succeeded though he suspected that the magic wouldn't last very long. Feeling fairly safe, Farin turned back, making his way towards Nola and Jimri. He was ahead of them and it was pretty tiring to swim against the flow... Too tiring, Farin was hardly slowing himself down and, he reasoned, would end up drowning himself if he continued to try.
Sorry...
The word passed through his mind as he guiltily gave up, fully aware that he could end up causing the deaths of one of the others by not helping. He found it fairly easy to keep afloat and managed to turn himself round so he was facing in the direction he was travelling
I hope there's nothing else in this water.

Barzul

He was swimming behind the rest of the group, things were happening to quickly he barely had time to keep up. Everyone seemed to be fairing ok, they are at least surviving. Soon that‘s something he would probably not be able to say for himself. Barzul had never had any swimming lessons, he didn‘t even like water, even with his athletic form and great physical strength he had some trouble keeping himself from drowning. He struggled underwater, the great flow of water pulling him down, with a hint of claustrophobia he started panicking. He kicked in all directions, trying with all his strength to get to the surface, he was on the edge of fainting from lack of oxygen when he broke the surface. He managed to inhail deeply before the water flow pulled him down again.

A thought entered his mind, many years ago he had been a member of the mages guild, with Alteration magic as his speciality. He hadn‘t used magic for years, he couldn‘t be sure of the results if he attempted to cast spells. He quickly decided that the risk was worth it, if he didn‘t act fast, he wouldn‘t survive. Gathering up the magic within him he tried to remember how to focus that energy in to a water breathing spell.

Aha! I think I remember now, Barzul though, he didn‘t have much time left, he estimated he could probably try only once, maybe twice to cast the spell before the lack of oxygen shut down his consciousness. He quickly forced the magic power into his palms, making a quick symbol with his hands and fingers, a strange sign glowed softly for a second, illuminating the tunnel underwater. It disappeared to quickly, the spell had failed.

Barzuls headache was getting worse, his movements were slow and sluggish, just trying to lift his hands was difficult. He summoned what was left of his energy and willpower and with a soft, slow motion made the signs again. They glowed slightly brighter this time, but Barzul didn‘t notice it.

Behind closed eyes, Barzuls mind wandered. He thought about his childhood, he thought about his family, and he thought about the recent, horrifying events. I can‘t die like this, I can‘t!

Barzul

Barzul felt at ease, he didn‘t feel pain, actually, he felt unusually light. Am I dead? Is this the afterlife? He slowly opened his eyes, as if he were afraid of what he would see. Dark green/blue-ish stone, if this is the afterlife then I‘ve been screwed! He scowled as he figured out what was going on. The waterbreathing spell had succeded, on the last moment. He took a good look around, the others were alived, and they didn‘t seem to have noticed me struggling there for a minute. That‘s good, I don‘t want to seem to weak to them, I don‘t want to be a burden.

He rushed towards the others with now easy, powerful strokes. He quickly caught up with them. The Redguard was assisting the Ohmes, the others seemed to be alright on their own. Deciding that they didn‘t need help at the moment, he decided to stay behind the others, in case someone breaks down before they get out of here. If we get out,he corrected himself. If.

EDIT: OoC: I wanted to scout ahead, but I wasn't sure if you had some event planned for us Solidor. :)

OOC: Well since it wasn't supposed to be our chamber filling with water, this was going to be the chamber we escaped from, I think we should end the drowning soon. It was a different room filling with water but I didn't make that very clear :S Any ways, IC time.

IC:

The water fought him with double the strength and force he pushed through with; each step forward took seconds to accomplish, fighting against the force of the water as his muscles burned and seared with cramp and pain. The sounds of a distant battle where gone now, in their place was the echoes of water in the small passage way.

Some way to die, I think I would rather have died fighting the leather face than this. he thought grimly, giving Tiberius' a strong tug close to him, the make shift rope now tied around his wrist for fear of losing grip.

The water level began to drop, instead of being up to his shoulders it was now below his chest; movement grew easier as he stormed forward, thankful for what ever miracle the nine had bestowed on them. The noise of a battle could be heard again, stronger than ever.

"Fool's, you dare to escape me!" A voice of pure malevolent malice screamed, blotting out the sound of everything but its cruelty. Kalort turned, and to his horror the leather faced mage was behind them. Hovering inches above the water. The reason for the sudden drop in water level became evident; it was gathering around the mage, building up and filling the passage behind him, light bursting from its depths in distorted beams.

Some miracle.. was the last thought to cross Kalort's mind as the water shot from around the mage, making obscure shapes of demons and all manner of monstrosities as it broke upon the walls and rejoined in to take a new shape of another hellish beast.

His body lost all control and flew forward in the torrent of water; spinning madly in the waves, barely able to keep hold of Tiberius as they where given different paths towards ultimate death in the cascading waves. Butterflies filled Kalort's stomach as air rushed into his grateful lungs.

I didn't think death would feel like butterflies.. He thought dimly, before realising he was dropping into a large circular chamber, plunging luckily into the pool within, missing the stairs at the side of the chamber. His legs kicked as his arms rotated, his foot connecting with Tiberius a few times. But he'd explain the broken ribs when he woke, now was no time to be courteous to ones physical well being.

A shout left his mouth in a large grouping of air bubbles under the water as something, several something's, pierced his right arm. As he broke the surface the shout became noise. Looking to his arm a slaughter fish was well and truly clamping down for a long meal; struggling to get a grip he wrenched it from its feeding place and began smashing its head against any solid object he could find, namely the iron bars in front of him.

Iron bars? A gate!

Wrenching it open he tossed Tiberius up and began forcing another body up, who's body it was, he didn't know, reaching around blindly to help any one else he was greeted by another slaughter fish. Not wanting to lose his grip on the gate, he did the only thing he could thing of to get it off his hand. He bit it back, and hard.

Blood now running from his arm in two places and his mouth, he dragged himself from the whirling water bellow him, careful not to get dragged beneath the waves. He never felt more grateful for solid ground in his life. All he wanted to do was drop down and rest, but against all his bodily instincts he forces himself forward with an instinct of his own. Survive.

Lifting Tiberius haphazardly onto his back he began to run, slipping into the walls but managing to recover and regain momentum immediately afterwards. The corridor began to widen and grow lighter.

"Run children, Run!" a Khajiit voice shouted as his eyes where assaulted by a great deal of sunlight from an open door at the end of the room he had just found himself in. "The hunter aproaches, Skriva feel's it. And we are the Pred; Run children!"

A large battle was taking place between a great number of leather clad Khajiit, Bosmer, Redguards and imperials. Even the odd Breton and Dunmer. Their enemy was strange looking, all neglected to wear armour nor carry weapons, there where only a handful of them yet the fought back with enough ferocity to have their adversaries on the run.

Kalort didn't think twice, no. He ran, punching the odd enamoured one in the face as he passed when the showed every sign of stopping him. He could taste fresh air, he could feel the sunlight. It felt like freedom.

OOC: I hate to be a bother, but could you give me a little more detailed description of the battle scene? It's mostly the surroundings I'm interested in.

OOC: Basically its part of the sewer gone to.. [censored], it has the usual green stone (moss and what not) but some stalagmites/stalagtites here and there where the place has fallen to decay. Just imagine a large cavern with lots of masonry and what not. Try not to dwell on it cos we wont be there for long.

Barzul

He hit the floor hard few seconds after Kalort and Tiberius, he was a little dazed but that went away when he saw Kalort biting a Slaughterfish that had attached itself to his arm. He jumped up and realized they were in a part of the sewers that was probably not used anymore, that or the city's maintenance needs to be paid more.

“Run children, Run! The hunter aproaches, Skriva feel’s it. And we are the Pred; Run children!”

Kalort followed. Barzul didn't trust the Khajiit, he could be working for the mage, but he didn't see any other options so he just followed Kalort. I've narrowly escaped death to many times over the last few weeks, I need to get out of here, now! If that means fighting, then that's what I'll do!
