That's what Todd said in several interviews also. I wonder whether this means killing Alduin won't stop the other dragons?

I'm guessing causing a dragon break via killing Alduin will get rid of dragons... Or maybe BGS decided it would take too much from the game to get rid of them. my guess is they will be gone after the end game.

I'd like it more if the dragons could be wiped off the map permanently. Assuming there are 'intelligent' dragons, this would create some moral dilemma about destroying them.

I say that if Dragon hunting becomes very fun, then unlimited dragons means unlimited fun right?
Otherwise if it will be like in Oblivion where we no longer see some enemies because of the closed oblivion gates then that might be fine but wouldn't you miss the dragons? And wouldn't you become useless as a dragon slayer without dragons?

According to our beloved Todd Howard you can not wipe them off the planet.

I surely hope so. I'm having this feeling in the end they'll be as annoying as Oblivion gates. Unless there's more to them than ROAARR u iz mai brekfest *kills it*

dragons are infinite. some silly members of the community wanted them to be limited. those are the same silly people who think dungeons should also be non-respawning.

Some of them are supposed to be able to speak english. My guess is, not all want to kill you.

I've been hoping for a while that may be true. Or Tamrielic which is somehow mysteriously translated into English may do. ;)

There IS unlimited dragons because they re spawn but there's a limit i think to how many can be in the game world at once to keep you from being tag teamed by like 6 dragons.

I think it should go this way:

Throughout the course of the game there are several "boss" dragons that are story important or just plainly worthy of importance and then there are several other, more generic dragons. And towards the end-game, assuming all of the boss dragons are slain, we could have a couple respawning generic dragons that we can go find and kill if we wanted.

I don't think it would be that great to have such a seemingly integral gameplay element (dragon slaying/hunting) be removed just because the story arc completed. Special, epic dragons? Go ahead and get rid of them end-game. Generic, relatively weaker dragons that still provide a challenge? Keep them. They do no harm and story wise we can just say they get hunted to extinction with their source of power being gone. (which is pretty much whats going to happen anyway if the story goes that way)

Don't forget that there are now unlimited npcs coming into the province (immigrants, mercenaries, troops, merchants, etc) from other areas to live in the many towns and cities by using the radiant story so if you think about it dragons swooping in and attacking towns and cities killing people wouldn't be a problem because theirs unlimited npcs supposing the more important npcs cant die things should go more smoothly

Can't imagine why someone would want to move somewhere with frequent dragon attacks...

Ha you walk out of a dungeon after a long fight trying to finish a quest in there and your on your way back to a village to turn in the quest and like 3 dragons maul you to death and then you remember "Oh crap i forgot to save" as you continue to mash you keyboard with a hammer.

From what ive heard when the game first starts off there are only a few dragons, as you get further in however, they appear more often, kind of like oblivion gates

thank god for that I don't fancy getting sneak dive bombed by a dragon when I'm enjoying the sights of Skyrim.

Or maybe them speaking English (Cyrodiilic? Tamrielic? Whatever...hehe) just means that they can taunt you in English while they try to kill you. Or they're like cheesy movie villains, and it's critical to the drama for them to do a lengthy monologue before trying. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1TmeBd9338
