Oh my dear lord that's a horrifically bad idea...

I think you're right. I fail to see what good it could add to the game, all it would do is potentially force me to play a race I don't want to play to get access to the one I do. I don't even like how some recent strategy games have forced the player to play the campaigns for each faction in a specific sequence instead of letting you play any campaign whenever you want, even though when it happens it's usually because each campaign is part of an on-going story and playing them out of sequence might mess up the continuity of the story, Skyrim would have no such logical reason to do this as playing the game over again with a different race would still be playing the same story, just using a different character.

The only thing I should have to unlock in an Elder Scrolls game is a locked chest or door.

Unlockable content is meant for linear games with almost no substance to them and an extremely short storyline as a pathetic attempt to artificially create replay-value. Basically that means FPS games.....

Ikke - Danish

Wrong. I think the word you are looking for is Nej.

NOOOO, you console really devoted fan!

haha, autocensor

I couldn't possible be more against it either but how exactly does the OP qualify as a really devoted fan? Just because he mentioned achievement and trophies? Do you even know what the word means?

Geen - Dutch

Wa - Japanese

Kh?ng - Vietnamese

Those are wrong too. :)

Dutch: Nee

Japanese: iie

Vietnamese: Doesn't have a word for "no". Kh?ng means 'not'. "T?i kh?ng mu?n ?i?u này" would be more accurate.

Ikke - Norwegian

The correct word for "no" would be "nei". "Ikke" means "not".

The only extra races I want are the different variations of Khajiit and Argonians from lore.

I guess I missed the memo when Elder Scrolls became a fighting game?

Seriously, no. Certainly not. The only way that adds replay value is this. *starts game as a orc* *plays for a while then unlocks Dunmer!* "Oh, well. I guess I'll go start over as a Dunmer cause I prefer them" *Starts new game as Dunmer* That just silly sir!

Its a cool idea, but I dont think it fits in well with TES games. More level based games soul caliber it works well with though.

That just sounds dreadful. What would there be to unlock anyway? We don't need more races.

Terrible idea

If new races will be playable, then you should be able to select from the start of a game with no restrictions.

Next we'll be told certain skills can only be unlocked etc...
