Unlocking body types

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:45 am

I used the search option and found a bunch of threads but none really answering the question that I have.

1. you have to unlock light and heavy? i believe that is right i just want confirmation.

2. will you be able to change a toons body type in between matches or is it a permanent thing once you pick between the 3?

3. is it 16 toon slots or just 10?

thanks just looking for a quick answer .

Yes. Heavy at level 5 and Light at level 7.
You can change at any time between matches once you've unlocked 'em.
Just 10.

Mad Hatter, you may be right about changing body types, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that body types, accents, tattoos, and face are all permanent, but like I said you could be right.

Bodytypes were originally supposed to be permanent, but that was changed a long time ago. I'd go digging for quotes, but the SD site is apparently down for now.

Those other things are indeed permanent though, last I heard. Scars too, probably.

They lowered it!, Lame, but it's not like any one person would use 16 character slots

I would. It would take me a while, but I would fill the crap out of those slots. In Armored Core for Answer I had several dozen different mech configurations lined up. I love customization.

But 10 isn't bad either, considering all the stuff I can just change on a whim if I want. :3

From a appearance-perspective, it'd be awesome.

Once you've unlocked everything with your first toon, you could play around with all items on the others.

I'm still only going to use 5 so I don't care.
1. My main Ninja medic
2. Operative to get achievements
3. Engineer to get achievements
4. Soldier to get achievements
5. Machinima Character

Not my medic. I tend to kill people who go after my medic. Besides one shotting us won't be that easy.

When it was 16, you couldn't change faction, so you got 8 characters for each side.

Now you can, so you get 10 characters for each side. You just don't get to make them different depending on faction (other than appearance, of course)

i would have rather liked faction locked toons would have added some sort of alliance to the game
online i think anyone who is like this may just leave the game if they are on the opposite faction

Hmm, how does one take out a pack of hyenas?

Lol I gave up on that game. Configuring mechs got SO confusing, I had no idea what parts I should have been equipping and I couldn't be bothered tackling the jargon... it was still fun before it frazzled my brain though!

I too will use more than 10 I imagine, which us lucky because I have 3 PSN accounts from my MAG days.

To answer the question above they have said that size is not permanent everything else you stated is though, in between matches you can select your build which I like cause from what I have read certain sizes can help certain classes in different ways.

Hi everyone,
I′m kind of new to brink and my English is not so good so excuse me. I preordered last week and have a question about the creation tool:

What can I change after I bulid a Warrior?
For example, I build a soldiers, with his attire and with light body and his attributes.
1. Can I change attires like masks after saving?
2. I can change Classes in Matches? So it is the same character with his abilitys but change to medic? Or do I change Characters in Matches?
So when I change bodytypes It still is the same Charakter?
3. Can I change weapons in match?

I think I don′t have the Idea down yet. I know the bible btw and I know what I can change but when and with which restrictions?

1. You can change any part of your character's apparel from the main menu option. The only choices that are permanent after saving are face/voice right at the beginning, and if you decide to apply tattoos at any point.

2. From any of your team's command posts, yes. It will be the same character: lets say if you had purchased 5 medic abilities and 2 abilities from Soldier, Engineer & Operative so far, and you hop into a match and play as a medic. Even though all of your abilities are active, even the 6 other class' abilities, since you are playing as a medic you ONLY have access to the 5 medic abilities... and any universal abilities you may have purchased too, like increased health. Once you pick a character, you are stuck with that character for the match. You can change bodytypes in the same menu as apparel, not mid-match.

3. Yes, from friendly Command Posts. The layout/process http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_CykYOy6Lw (which might show you some other nifty things you didn't know, too).

Hope that helped!
