Unlocking GRA weapons with level?

Post » Fri Oct 07, 2011 2:17 pm

Some items only appear in merchants inventory when you reach a certain level. However GRA weapons are always available at the merchants.

Doesn't this break the game? All you have to do is reach the Gun Runners and you have access to all these wonderful weapons.

If you have the caps to buy most of those new toys, then you have already "broken" your game.

For people like me though, who don't care about "breaking" a game, this is a very good thing.

Those wonderful weapons cost an arm and a leg to buy. It's not a hard level limit but rather a "work your butt off* to get them" kind of limit.

*For the Vegas boy in us, the answer is in Sierra Madre of course.

The cost to get them far outweighs any level limit that could be put on it.

But combined you really shouldn't be using them. No one should have the Bozar right on in the beginning unless you use exploits.

Oh I agree, I've never used cash exploits so I can't really comment on their use. I am however, glad I had over 1-2m caps, spent 400k on the weapons, ammo, and mods alone so far.

I don't think it breaks the game all. You can have a combat skill maxed out by level 5. If that skill is EW, you can make a mad dash to get the Y186, for FREE. If that skill is Melee, you can get Chance's Knife, right out of Doc's office...for FREE.

Like was said. They are so expensive, that you need to play a while to have enough caps to get them, in the first place. I get Jury Rigging, with EVERY character. That's my Money Maker. At level 14, I have enough to get all the implants. By that time, the vendors have the high end weapons anyway.

So, like the Y186 and Chance's Knife...Just because it's there, doesn't mean you have to pick it up.

The price keeps them out of your hands for a while unless your using exploits especially the tier 5's the GRA variations of regular weapons cost as much as the regular versions so you should get them at the same time so I don't see an issue with it, especially considering the tier 5 prices.
