Alright dude...i created an account just to try and help you out...lol. But I also just started playing the game so I don't know all..
First off....try reading a few reviews of the game. This will get you somewhat familiar with what is going on.
You can't customize anything until level 5. You have to go into custom settings (something like that)...go to custom equipment 1...and acutally change your weapons/attachments. I suggest doing this "out of a lobby" as you have all the time you need. Click on the gun you want to use attachments. You have to earn your attachments by acutally using "that" gun.
To use items such as hologram, grenade launcher..etc, you push LEFT on the d pad to change to it (some guns change from multi to single shot if you don't have an attachment added). That will allow you to then push r1 to fire your hologram. I used it for a little while, but (for me) it's just too much of a bother to then switch back to "firing" mode using the d-pad.....i honestly hate using the d-pad. I do have to get used to it thought as many functions use the d pad. Spotting, nanovision, killstreaks.
Spotting is also a pain in the ass. Way too much to do just to spot someone, and I predict not many will use it. For the first day, it's a pretty fun multiplayer, I just hope it doesn't get stale.
And the slow mow replay is just when they get a head shot on you. It slows down and follows the bullet to your skull...pretty cool. Also try messing around with the controller sensitivity under options (can't remeber exactly)...> and then game.
I believe a lot of "specials" such as armor, proximity, radar jam...work on their own to help you out (correct me if I'm wrong).
Edit.....And it also feels like you do much better in the game when you hang around with at least one of your teamates. One of you will draw someones fire and the other can dial in on him and both can easily then kill him. It's a new game with many lonewolves out there, but hopefully more people will start "squading up".
Good Luck
