[Wipz] Unnecessary Violence II + I'm Back

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:07 pm

Hi Everybody,

I thought it was about time I came in and let you all know what's been going on with UVII, or more specifically with me.

Late last year I was knocked off my bike on my way to work by a hit and run driver. I badly hurt my head and was hospitalised for nearly three months. In that time i've been having to re-learn a lot of basic motor skills and have found a lot of things that should be easy very difficult. I find it very challenging just to operate a computer: I know perfectly well what to do but getting a mouse to point at the correct bit of the screen or hitting the correct key on a keyboard has been very challenging. I am however a lot better now. My reflexes and motor control are returning to their old selves. I've been back at work for a week and am hoping to get back to doing some modding over the next few days. When Last I was working at it UVII was mostly complete. There were a few kinks that needed working out - particularly with respect to dynamically swapping skeletons to allow dismemberment, but I hope they won't prove too much of an issue.

Of course i'll have to familiarise myself with any changes to OBSE and NifSE that might slow things down a bit, but with luck I should be able to put out a beta release very soon.

Sorry to everyone for the delays and sudden disappearance. I hope to see lots of old friends around the forums soon.

All the best,

HeX

Exactly what I've been waiting for!* Terrible accident but great to hear that you're getting well again. Welcome back, mate! :wavey:

* And I mean that. I've looked forward to start a new warrior char with UV II for months so mainly been loitering around aimlessly with my current char...

Sorry to hear about the accident, but welcome back.

And I think you'll find that recent OBSE additions will be of great help, especially the Event Handler feature, where you can tell OBSE to call one (or more) of your functions when certain things happens, like player attacking an enemy or vice versa.

Ouch, any biker-car collision is bad, hope you'll get even more better (eh... poor grammar?). And I'm also eagerly waiting for UV II to finally play with a warrior/melee character (never, ever done that before). Best of luck with modding (well and other things too ofcourse :P).

O wow, I'm sorry. I'm working in collage to become an Occupational Therapist. I bet you had a lot therapy from OT and PT. Typing and using the mouse will definitely strengthen your fine motor skills :) If you need something just ask!

it's great to see you again, let me hope you the best of luck for your health to keep just getting better and better :)

after UVII is out, modblivion will never be the same again... you might also give Skyrim itself a run for its money, what with its announced lack of climbing and entering through windows, eh? :D

Wow! That's amazing that everything is getting better. I'm glad to hear that you're recovering and will be modding again! I had heard several things: had a broken arm; had CT surgery; had a new born baby.

The truth was much worse.

It's wonderful to hear from you again, mate :) Even more so that you're recovering.

Don't forget to check out CSE (that's right, I released the bloody thing!) and RuDE - They ought to be of help to you. Not to mention the new PlayIdle command.

Wow, that is much worse than rumors I had heard around the forums. Glad to hear it wasn't worse and you're getting better. But this is the most exciting news I've heard since the announcement of Skyrim. I too have been waiting for this to really start a new game.

"I heard you were dead . . . You look good!" But in all seriousness, as horrible of an experience as you've had, you're awesome for coming back to Oblivion and I wish you the best.

Also, UVII! :)

Really glad to hear it. I'll be praying for your contined recovery. Take all the time you need. I've been a big fan of the original UV mod since it released some time back for its dual-wielding implementation. In fact, I still use it today. I'll be looking forward to the next release. But, there's no rush on it. Good luck :).

Wow, sorry to hear that, buddy! I'm glad you're getting back in the swing of things, and I hope everything does truly return to normal. I'm absolutely at your service with regards to any changes to NifSE; feel free to PM me and we can start discussing what's new and what you might need.

Glad to hear you are recovering.
Is it just me or does modders get hit by life allot more often than other people?

Have been wondering about UVII, I am glad to hear you still feel it worthwhile to even think about modding.

All the best to you!
