Unnecessary Violence Workaround?

Since there does not seem to be an active UV thread I’m making my own

Okay, so I have been patiently awaiting the safe return of Hex_Off and subsequently the release of UV2. During this time I have been tweaking my load order, updating some of my other mods and fixing the mod added bugs as I come across them. (I’ve almost got Deadly Reflex 6 completely working) But it seems that the main reason I downloaded Unnecessary Violence to begin with doesn’t work right, if you dual wield a Blunt weapon in one hand and a Blade weapon in the other you’re supposed to, according to the read me, be able to raise both skills simultaneously; but it seems that you only gain skill for the one in your right hand. I’ve gone through literally over 100 pages of UV questions and comments and have seen a few references to this issue, but I have not seen if there is a known solution or workaround.

I was going to try to kludge together my own fix, basically a gamemode script that adds points to Blunt whenever I hit the left mouse button while in combat. (I like the Left-Axe Right-Sword combo and I have the discipline to not spam the Axe hand just to gain skill points) Before I go through that brain pain however, I wanted to see if anyone has already made some sort of fix that I could use.

As a side note has anyone documented how UV Left-Handed Attacks and Kicks affect the new DR6 Momentum feature?
(I suppose I could have put that one under the DR6 thread)

Wow! I guess this never really bothered other people, at least not the ones who read this thread. I guess I'll be fiddling around in the Construction Set.

And here I thought I could use Oblivion as way to take a break from modding.

I'll be honest, this is the first time I've heard of such a problem with using UV. I think most of the people that have been using it use double blades or double blunts and probably never noticed it. Do you use a skill altering mod by chance?

Yeah, the more I thought about it the more I realize that almost every depiction of dual wielding in books, tv, movies and games is kept symetrical. It's always 2 of the exact same swords, hammers, pistols or whatever. It just strikes me as being more useful to have two very diferent weapons as they each have very different uses, and if the character is right handed then the weapon that needs more dexterity should be in that hand.

In all my hours of researching this mod I have only seen this bug mentioned 2 or 3 times, though I admit that I did not read through all 320+ pages on the Nexus.
