Gold does seem pretty easy to come by. I got my alliance DK to 79 today, and even after paying for dual spec and cold weather flying I've got 4k, and I haven't sold a single stack of bars on the AH. I've just vendored trash and quest rewards I don't need, and put other greens on the AH.

I was lvl 70 when I hit Borean Tundra, when I got the achi for that I did Howling Fjord and got the achi for that also. I got the achi for Dragonblight, skipped Grizzly Hills then went on to Zul D'rak but I'm 3 quests short of the achi for it because I can't find a group to complete the Ampitheater of Anguish questline :flame: Now I'm in Scholazar Basin and hoping to ding 80 before I'm done there :tops:

I went to Icecrown from 78-80 and seemed to level fairly quickly.
The Hemet Nesingwary quests for Scholozar Basin are a joke compared to Outlands.
As for Zul'Drak, just ask one or two 80s from your guild to help you with it. The DK who helped me soloed the first three fights.

I'm level 51 and I only have about 260G on my characters. How do you sell quest rewards, are the high level ones not soulboud?

Sell them to vendors.

You can't sell quest rewards on the AH or other players in general but, you can vendor them. Blue quest rewards, and even greens at level 80, are worth golds each. I'll pick up 2-4 grey pieces like a grey quality 2h axe in a heroic off a trash mob, vendor it for 4g. Blues and Epics net 20+g to a vendor, if it's soulbound and you can't AH it.

Vendoring = selling anything to an NPC store owner, like a Blacksmith or an Innkeeper. In Northrend, you make piles of gold just from selling crap you don't need. In fact, my Belf Lock has BoA gear, so I automatically ignore anything for chest or shoulders (I made the stupid decision of buying the Priest/Pally/Shammy mace instead of the staff that works for Priests/Druids/Warlocks/Mages...) and when I don't need an upgrade or have something better, I always go for the mail or plate option, because 7/10 times it sells for more than anything lesser than that quality. example: 4 choices of Chest Upgrade, Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate. Plate is going to be the best. But most rewards are mixed, so you might see pants and shoulders mixed in, so just mouse over each choice to see what vendors the best.

Also, if you buy BoA gear, make sure you buy the stuff for the classes you actually want to play. I play my priest, but he's the only character I really play so far who can use the mace. The robes and shoulder are good for a few others though, just gotta deal with the same look for 1-80 lol.

Bear in mind that this is on my death knight, so I didn't have 55 levels of training to pay for. You leave the DK starting area at lvl 58 with around 25 gold and head to Outland where you begin to accumulate gold from quest rewards and vendored trash loot and unwanted soulbound items. When you hit Northrend you'll rake in some serious amounts of money. Just don't spend money at the auction house unless you've been really unlucky with drops and are in serious need of a new weapon. When you get to Northrend you won't need to buy anything from the AH apart from glyphs if you want them as the quest rewards are pretty good.

The only thing I buy off AH is recipes for tailoring/enchanting (the world drop ones, not the ones you can find on a vendor), and occasionally materials to train my professions.

Disenchant them tis what I do.

At them moment I have about 500g on my lv36 paliadin. I just took skinning and mining until recently then dropped skinning for enchanting. So Im gonna drop mining for something else like jewelcrafting.

Have a level above 40 of every class on that server with a 75 warrior, 80 Death Knight and my 80 Warlock(named above) being my highest.

Been playing since a little before BC.

I'll finally be able to buy Kolia epic flying thanks to this holiday. She had a few epic mounts sitting in the bank for a couple of months now. If you have an 80 this is one of the easiest ways to make gold and honor for the next week or so.

Good luck keeping that gold when you drop mining. Leveling JC on my DK even with mining was pretty expensive.

Level 17, been running all over Bloodmyst Isle. I rerolled just for the sole purpose of being able to complete low level zones I couldn't really remember (2 year absence), and so far I'm having a lot of fun.

I've been doing so much in WoW that I used to overlook, that it has been keeping the game fresh for me. Whether its questing, achievements, pvp, rdf, one of WoW's calender events, fishing, farming leathers, auction house, scenery; there is always something to do.

Now if I ever make it to raiding this time, I'll be doing good.

-----------------

I'm trying to go as long as possible without a single death, and we almost wiped in Deadmines this morning. It was just me and our healer left, I'm running around using wing clip and concussive shot, with goblins and the boss at the bottom of the goblin factory. To top it all off, the healer runs out of mana like halfway through this fight in which a warlock managed to aggro almost the entire lower level with his pet. Still, I managed to survive and kill the boss.

Yeah, basically any crafting profession will cost you a lot, you can make a huge amount of money eventually, but it's a big investment that takes a long time to pay off, once it does pay off though, you can make tons of cash by simply saying "I can make that, bring me mats and pay a 100/200g (Standard practice seems to be 100g for ilvl 245 items and 200g for ilvl 264) fee"

o.0

You must be well-funded then, because mining would support jewelcrafting. Make an alt to do your enchanting.

Good on ya  Especially for out-surviving an overconfident lock.

Our Alliance guild ran BRD yesterday for the first time. It was actually our second time going in, but yesterday we completed the whole thing (first time was just for the "prison section" that ended up being over half of the place, and an extra two hours of just being lost). First time was somewhat of a distaster, but we did a lot better yesterday (except for our poor druid who was forever in the wrong place at the wrong time -- me and the priest started taking turns rezzing her ). I'd planned to take my mage, but because our tank wasn't able to come, I took my pally instead, then went back later to solo the stuff I hadn't been ready for. I was surprised how easy the place is for a 70 pally (and I found Hurricane -- woot!).

All the guides I've read tell of two ways to get the bar door open -- get the dwarf drunk, or do the succubus' quest. We found a third way that I haven't read about yet: fight the patrons and wait for the po-po. When we fought the goblin and his buddies, I'd tried to pull them into that empty room nearby, but the group wasn't far enough in, and some patrons were aggro'd. Later while we were getting ready to buy drinks for the dwarf, an elemental and some guards came through the door, said something about a "report of a disturbance," promptly killed our druid and priest, and next thing I know the hunter's dead too and I have half the bar attacking me. Fortunately, running out of the bar drops most of the aggro, so I could go back and finish off the hostile guys and rez the priest -- but OY! We didn't know what had happened (thank Elune for LoH!). But when I solo'd last night, I'd found the key holder for that extra vault in the Vault room, and in pulling him out, some of the patrons aggro'd too, then the same hostile NPCs appeared shortly thereafter.

That's not new is it?

I power leveled Blacksmithing and Jewelcrafting in 1 day.
It cost me 6k gold, but it was worth it. Added a lot of armor pen to my character, which at the time, was the thing to strive for. Now that I'm at ArP cap, I focus more on strength and crit but, oh well. That was a long time ago, back when the Trial of the Crusader came out.

Twice, yesterday, the PUG i got wiped. That time, and then later on in the day in Shadowfang Keep.

Our Healer dropped halfway through, but we kept going and were doing pretty well until we hit ran into a room full of humans. Our tank went down really quick, the pally that was DPSing went down shortly there after, and lucky for me the mage in our party was the one who got the aggro. He's got like 10 people after him, I'm trying to help even though I know its useless, then out of nowhere he takes an obvious (to me atleast) wrong turn down some stairs. I abandoned him, and ran the entire instance out with guys chasing me. That's not even the worst part, my pet's dead by now, I had used my healing stuff, and where do I spawn at?

In a field full of Zerg on Bloodmyst Isle. I came really, really close to dieing, but I managed to get away.

Good times. :P

I've been making pretty good gold off of skinning lately. Heavy leather sells like hotcakes off of the AH. Have over 600g on my 54 toon right now, which I think is pretty good.

Also just made 100g off of some mace that dropped.

Recently got http://www.wowhead.com/item=22208/lavastone-hammer from the Blackrock depths. I'm a happy guy now.

I was playing on Kolia last night and got invited to an ICC 25 alt pug. I went mostly to grind rep and get some frost badges. Ended up winning Bryntroll and got 500g when Deathbringers Will dropped. I guess it was on reserve and the dude paid everyone to for being okay with it. Had no idea about it. So I went in to grind a little rep ended up with a great weapon, 13 frost badges, 500g and almost to friendly with Ashen Verdict. One of the better experiences I had with a PuG.

It's nice to see a new player progressing and discovering everything for the first time. I love Outland, it's epic. My favourite zone there is Nagrand, it's full of waterfalls in the sky, beautiful music and some great quests. Make sure you do the Ring of Blood questline in Nagrand before you leave, you get a http://thottbot.com/i25762 as a reward.

The European servers have been down for maintenance since 11pm last night and were meant to be back up already but the downtime's been extended to 4pm. The forums are ablaze with righteous nerdrage.
