Unoffical World Of Warcraft Thread

Just as FYI, if anyone wants to watch a Live Stream of the Cata beta, a guy is playing right now, through the goblin starting zone.

It's pretty awesome so far.

I don't really want to spoil it. But man I can't wait to fly through azeroth. Should be awesome.

Worgen will definitely be the most popular race though.

EDIT: Also how do you guys think my pally is looking so far? http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Windrunner&cn=Suffca

It's actually pretty cool. While he's playing, he's able to chat with us. I'm talking to him right now. ^_^
Like 20 other people in the chat place with me and him, pretty fun.
Goblin starting zone looks [censored] epic, btw.

*sigh*

Yet another learning experience courtesy of the DF: don't use your super buff potions until you know you're in a decent group. Just attempted the SM cathedral, and the "tank" went almost directly to the boss after aggroing nearly everything in sight. Enter -> wipe: less than a minute.

I've been having trouble with the DF lately.

We seem to always queue up our 3 dps's and finally get either a tank or healer but then they always leave.

The last few days I've stayed in the queue for over an hour with no success.

Wait, BoH, why is it that you don't play anymore?

I've been noticing that too. I've only gone as DPS, and those fill up pretty quick, then the tank seems to be the one that takes forever, and/or it drops out several times.

Nice crit, at least better than mine (70, and only 17%). I've focused more on strength and stam though, but the 10k health sure is nice. Any plans to add enchantments?

I can't play anymore because my internet access wont support it. I have a 300 MB bandwidth limit daily that resets every 24 hours, and if I go over it, it completely shuts down for 24 hours.
It's also extremely slow, as it's satellite internet. =/ I've met people in Iraq with a better internet connection than I have. Basically it's about 1800 ms latency all the time, which, as you probably know, is extremely terrible. Most people play WoW at 100 or less MS latency.

Yes I'll eventually add some enchantments. I think my friend specializes in it so that's good. I'm busy with my pally questline right now though.

Oh and then I look at this guy and feel so puny. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Windrunner&cn=Bostwick

BoH: That really svcks man. Seems like you really enjoy the game. You're stuck with satellite from where you are?

Yeah, my location doesn't allow anything more than satellite internet, so I'm stuck with it. =/

That's called rested Xp, Suffca. It means you get 200x experience from killing monsters, because you logged out in an Inn. Once your XP bar catches up to it, you'll gain XP normally.
Rested XP can accumulate up to 2 levels. After that, your wasting it.

No problem. Another thing to note about Rested XP, is that quest turn ins, and discovery XP from discovering new zones, pushes it back, so say you turn in a quest right now.
Your regular XP blue bar wont overlap that rested XP, the rested XP will be bushed back the amount of the XP gained from said quest, as rested XP isn't affected by quest, only killing monsters.
God I'm a nerd.

Hughesnet?

I too, play on satellite internet, and it has only been a pain in the ass when Blizz releases a massive patch over the download limit.
My latency is normally around 1200, and I've been casually raiding with my guild for about 2 months now, no problem.
Still, it is too bad to hear that.

Yeah actually, Hughesnet.
How can you raid?? I only tried to play on it once, but the experience was so terrible I said screw it.
I logged in the first day I moved here after we got our net set up, was in IF.
I hit my mount. 5 seconds later, my NE started casting the spell. 10 seconds later, I mounted, but I wasn't on my mount, I was just running really really fast.

I've never found the cast delay times to be too bad for me. Maybe about .25 seconds. I've also noticed its a bit slow when i first log in, but after a minute or so it's up at normal speed.
Do a lot of people play on your server? Mines about medium population so maybe more player activity has something to do with it. Or maybe you just don't have good signal strength where you are. Or maybe for some stupid reason Hughesnet shut down your internet. Have you tried logging back in outside of a city since then?

No, I haven't. I got depressed, attempted suicide, and then gave up. I just gave up.

Question for smiths: if an enchanter asked you to make a rod for them, how much payment would you expect (if any), if mats were and weren't supplied?

Also, for alchemists, same thing if an enchanter asked you to make an arcanite bar for them.

If this was a friend I'd do it for the cost of the mats. If I didnt know the person I would charge the cost of the mats plus a little gold for my time.

As a smith, you shouldn't make things for others if they don't have the mats. That doesn't even make sense, because that cost you money.
I require mats, and I charge a minimum crafting fee of 10g. Unless it's a friend, or guildy. But someone in trade LF a smith, yeah, minimum 10g fee for making anything.

I dunno I got addicted to it for like 3 weeks then it all wore thin now I find it terrible. But then again I'm just not a fan of sharing my gameworld with a bunch of [censored]s. That was it I think... people's unbearably immature and hostile attitudes, people are brave when you can't choke them.

I never found people to be unbearable on the servers I played on. Pretty much everyone I came into contact with was a pretty nice fellow. Few times some tards act immature yeah, but over all I'd say 98% of the time, it wasn't like that.
I realize, however, that my experience is probably out of the ordinary.

Not really the people I see are generally nice, but in the Trade Chat its always the same 4 or so people being douchebags. I hit Lv40 EPIC MOUNT FTW....
