Been looking for a while for Haruhi Suzumiya figurines everywhere, but all the shops say "Out of Stock/Out of Print"

I think I missed the boat. :( I was hoping to get Yuki, Haruhi and Mikuru in their school uniform, but that seems to be the most popular version.

You probably won't have to wait too long for someone to release a new set of Haruhi figures, they pretty much print money so new figs are put out all the time.

I finished off my Gundam waching (up to Zeta) a couple of days ago, top notch stuff especially Zeta
Spoiler
and its rather bleak ending.

Nice seeing where Cliches that still pop up in both general anime and other Gundam shows might have started, as well as its obvious influences from and on other shows/films.

If you have any local anime stores you may be able to find them there (there are something like 5 at the closest one to me, another 3 at the second closest).

Your best bet beyond that is ebay or yahoo auctions japan (using the site I mentioned). Anime conventions are another good way

Finally, if you aren't after a specific one already made, TMoHS is a very popular series, with a movie that just started screening recently in Japan. As such more figurines are always being made for that series. So just keep your eye out (Figurines are almost always a must for pre-ordering if you want to guarantee you get it. Don't preorder and you have to hope to get lucky often, at least with the high quality ones).

The most rare TMoHS figurine: 1/4 scale FREEing Yuki Nagato bunny outfit. Sold: $150 (approx), current value: $350-500 depending on condition. <- random fact

If you have one in particular you are looking for, post the image and I can see if I can find it :) Otherwise I suggest just waiting for the next set of them to come out.

Well, I'm looking for these:
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-8x-77-d-49-en-15-Haruhi-70-2lxl-43-d.html
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-8x-77-h-49-en-15-Haruhi-70-2zeu-43-d.html
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-8x-77-e-49-en-15-Haruhi-70-2ehc-43-d.html

There are others, but I'd like these to be the start of my collection. :P

EDIT: There are absolutely no anime stores anywhere near me, in Norfolk, UK. Guess it isn't that popular in this area.

I decided to grab the first season of Gundam 00, and I'm on the last 5 episodes. This is a great gundam series, though I do get tired of hearing the voice actors from Inuyasha in everything. Seems like whoever did Miroku is in like half of the dubbed anime out there.

svcks that the second season isn't out yet, I wish they'd just release it all at once instead releasing a few episodes at a time. I'm pretty sure both seasons have aired on Scifi channel already, so it's not like they're working on it or anything...

I've been watching a lot of OnePiece lately, I'm at episode 16 right now, so there's a lot left :P The show is awesome though. Only other anime I've really watched is Hellsing Ultimate.

Probably a stupid question, but any other OnePiece fans here?

I'm watching it in Japanese with subs, only english version I've seen is the butchered 4kids version, which I simply refuse to watch.

EDIT: Holy [censored], Luffy is awesome beyond words!

I watched a lot of it years ago. I think I got to about episode 100 before I got tired of the filler and the bad guys who never die. I prefer my animes to be short and sweet, with an absolute conclusion rather than more story arcs.

I've only watched one or two episodes and browsed through a few chapters of manga, but from what I saw it seems too silly for my tastes. I can only use suspension of disbelief for so long.

I love how the show manages to be so silly and wacky, but still suspensefull and serious as well. It really is an amazing show if you give it a chance, most people think the same at first, including me. I heard immense praise for it on Transmission Awesome and other places though, so I gave it a chance and loved it. Of course, it's all a matter of taste.

Still though, I recommend giving the show a chance, I've enjoyed it so far and I've been told it gets much better later on in the series, I'm only one episode 16 and there's almost 450 episodes in total.

Zabuza was one of my favorite characters. Why did they have to kill him off so quickly!?

I dont know, but why does Haku look so much like a girl. I wonder if they did that on purpose.

I finished Spice and Wolf. Was pretty boring until about half way, the only thing that kept me interested was Holo. The second half was great though.

And I expected to learn macro economics but I learned nothing. :P

I might have asked this before but I couldn't find the post from searching so, anyone care to recommend some legit sites to order anime from? Amazon is all I know right now and they don't accept PayPal. PP isn't a requirement though, I'd still like to find some competitive alternatives to Amazon and Marketplace.

Here is [most] of my anime shop folder (had to exclude some things)
http://www.hlj.com/index.html - Expensive, but extremely fast shipping
http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/ (probably not all that useful for you since you would need an R1 DVD player for the DVD. Some imports and CDs though) - Best US anime retailer
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/ - Like hlj, just different people
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-00-71-d-49-en.html - Often the cheapest, but very slow shipping
http://www.yesasia.com/us/en/home.html - Faster shipping than Play-asia
http://www.kidnemo.com/index.php?main_page=shippinginfo&zenid=97792b47bd915808474054f1703b4951 - Another cheapy. Not nearly as full-featured as hlj or Hobby Search and is a little more hit-or-miss as to whether they get your item in stock, but their prices often cannot be beat.
http://toylet.net/index.html - Decent price, decent shipping
http://www.jbox.com/ - Fairly speedy, nice all-around
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/index.html - great resource for CDs, prices not all that inflated.

Copy+Pasted from a few pages ago. Wingus, since you're in USA, I'd recommrnd Rightstuf because it's American.

Due to Defron's influence, I came to know of this 'School days' anime. Since I'm a bit of a softie for downer endings and the likes, I'm curious to know if there's something more in the same vein to be found?

I watched the first episode of Shugo Chara!

It's interesting but it's a long series....

I don't think I have time for it :(

This is why anime (and every other series) shouldn't be longer than 20 episodes

Plus then I just get tired of the anime (ie Inuyasha, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, etc...)

Much more of an emotionally wrenching sad ending would be 5 centimeters per second

Higurashi no Naka Koro ni has a big "downer" ending (but it also spirals fairly quickly to that, not sudden like School Days)

Beyond that, there are anime where you can "choose" the bad ending. Clannad if you watch it through to ~After Story~ episode 21 would be one example of that (beyond that it gets pulled to the good ending).

Transplanted from this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1084062-naratu-naratu-shippuden-bakugan/

I like Cowboy Bebop and Gundum: Seed but just don't get some of the shows listed in my previous thread.

From reading through this thread I've only watched some of these shows/movies: Ghost in The Shell, Full Metal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, Akira (though I didn't really get the creature thingy), Gundum: Seed, the original Speed Racer.

Some of the shows I don't fully understand because I find them difficult to follow.

Can't recommend this one enough. It is perfection in anime form! If you like it, make sure you check out Voices of a Distant Star, the same director's first work, made by himself on his own PC Mac but easily rivaling professional productions.

http://myanimelist.net/anime/147/Kimi_ga_Nozomu_Eien is another great sad drama. Also, http://myanimelist.net/anime/587/Hanbun_no_Tsuki_ga_Noboru_Sora for a shorter series in the same vein.

While I haven't watched that particular show, I do have to agree on this. Granted, I'm not actually so concerned with the length of the series in itself, more over whether it has an overreaching plot with a definite end or if it's just a series of events largely unrelated accept that they involve the same characters and a similar premise, as many western shows tend to be. I also prefer it if a series is willing to make lasting changes to the status quo even before the end, like killing or removing members of the recurring cast, changing their role in the story or adding new ones who will actually stick around for more than a few episodes. While technnically, a very long series could be like this too, rarely is this the case. One supposes there is some logic to it, after all, if your series has a story that you'll need to follow from start to finish to understand, you don't want it getting so long that it won't be able to hold viewers' attention. Also, the chance of a series having lots of filler is likely to increase considerably as it gets longer.
