L is the only person allowed to bring the downfall of Light without it being stupid but if Light wins then that's okay too. I loved both characters and I knew one would lose, just didn't matter which. Near needs to GTFO of my Death Note though.

After managing my free time from my study, I did what pretty much what everyone else did in this thread and watch Spice and Wolf. It definitely did not disappoint me! I like the intro theme, story and the characters. Guess I said thanks to this thread for this and some previous recommendation?

Yeah, the entire second season of Death Note was just plain boring. All of these new characters started popping up and I started losing track of the plot, then I began to see rehashes of earlier "tricks" and conversations.

Personally, I'd have kept the first season's ending how it was, but have it actually end there.

Mikami's DN was actually real and Kira won... ending with Light and Mikami walking out of the warehouse and shutting the door on the bodies (Saw style). Honestly, the whole fake notebook thing is just a lame deus ex machina "good conquers evil" pile of crap.

Yes but if your in America it's sad that we can't get all of the manga . But the first series is very good , if you have digital cable it's on IFC ( independent film channel) that is where I first saw it.

Can anyone recommend a good, preferably dubbed, anime? I'm into more "mature" animes like Ghost in the Shell and personally can't stand animes like Naruto that have countless filler and are just plain silly and wacky at times.

So far I've seen:

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate
Afro Samurai
Devil May Cry

id definitely watch Shikaban Hime thats pretty good, black lagoon, Shuffle is a tad romantic but still pretty good, Black Cat, Ergo Proxy is an amazing show a must see, and Trigun and definitely Black Blood Brothers but as far as dubs go id just ckeck around on funimation to see what theyve got if you havent already !
