Ah, I remember seeing a few episodes of Gundam Wing and enjoying it. And I've heard of Death Note before too. Thank you for this list. :)

I really liked reading the manga of Death Note too. So far it's the only manga I've ever started but I really recommend it. Something about reading the manga of the Death Note seems really cool to me, and I like the style of it.

Be sure to read Volume 13 AFTER you finish it. Also, look for Beyond Birthday. It's not Canon, but it's a very good read.

If you like the killing-evil-people thing, I recommend Akumetsu. Pretty deep into economic jargon for my tastes, but the killing scenes are great. The traps and mindgames remind of Death Note.

Finished watching Nabari no Ou

I heard the manga was better in terms of character development so I want to check it out. Overall the series was pretty cool and I really enjoyed it.

I'm going to watch Shigurui: Death Frenzy (anyone else have opinions on it?). It's not an anime I'd normally look into as I'm not a blood and gore kinda guy but I figured I'd watch a couple of episodes.

Edit: Scratch that I think I'm going to try Tegami Bachi

Edit 2: I think I'll also try Gosick

Edit 3: I've decided that I'm gonna go with Shugo Chara!

Man I just can't make up my mind tonight

Holy Assassin, if you liked the ones you've mentioned, and have interest in the others, I would also suggest(and highly recommend) Slayers, Sorcerer Hunters, Hack Sign, Magic Knight Rayearth. Then, I would also recommend Bubblegum Crisis(Not what it sounds like), Escaflowne, Blue Seed, Ranma 1/2, Neon Genesis Evangelion(which I'm pretty sure someone else has mentioned), High school of the Dead(I recently was introduced to this anime by a friend who just got back from Japan after serving a year n a half stint in the airforce over there, and let me tell you, I absolutely love it. It's Zombie Apocalypse + anime. Unbeatable), and The Melancholy of Haruhi(not sure of exact title of last one, I think thats it). I actually could list like another dozen or two, but those are the ones I recommend the most. I swear, if I ever become a millionaire because I win a lottery, or some obscure relative who met me once and really liked me dies and leaves me their fortune, I will have an entire room dedicated to anime. I'd probably buy like 200+ Box sets in a month, and another hundred or so in the next year after that.

Edit: Oh oh oh Oh! Martian Successor Nadescio! I love that anime.

Cowboy Bebop is a classic. Ironically, I'm watching the movie as I'm typing this.

Got to agree with you on that. I rewatched them all about a month ago. I love how they joke about not knowing if Ed is a girl or a boy, because that is exactly what i was like when i first saw the character.

Just watched The Place Promised in Our Early Days. It was really good. The artwork was beautiful, the story was pretty well made, characters believable, acting good (Japanese and English, too), etc. Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

Bubblegum Crisis, good old 80's rock, unless you're referring to 2040, which is good as well, just missing the music.
Ranma 1/2 is a good recommendation for silly laugh, but it's hard to keep up with so many episodes to follow.
Blue Seed, 3x3 Eyes is better IMO, available in 2 sets of OVAs, same author FYI.
MS Nadesico, good watch... Will be begging for more (after you watch the movie sequel)

Only saw the first four episodes, but it seemed pretty cool. Granted, that may not be enough to properly judge it, because I know somewhere along the way, it takes a really drastic shift in style, starting off as a generally down to earth mafia drama, and then moving to really bizarre sci-fi stuff.

It's a good one. Too bad they decided to put episode 1 in, since it's pretty much the same exact episode as 15(I think) and confused the hell out of me. But yeah, it's pretty down to earth mafia until around episode 10? It's based on the game of the same name, so they wanted to expand on the backstory. They did pretty well.

Edit: I've been watching Axis Powers Hetalia lately...this show is ridiculous but I can't stop watching it. Think if all the countries were actually people. Then consider them enacting world events from the past. It seems to center around Italy, Germany, and Japan mainly(Since they are the axis after all).

Ed is the absolute greatest character in any episode of Cowboy Bebop.

Started it last night, but decided to keep watching a show I had really gotten into:

Just now finished episode 13 of Spice and Wolf. I loved it. Not much action, no guns, no mechs, but the dynamic of relationships was well done. I don't suppose anyone knows if there's a season 2 for me to look for?

Watching episode 1 of Casshern Sins. I've seen the live-action movie, and fell in love with it. So far, the anime looks pretty good.

You mean the novel Death Note: Another Note? I didn't enjoy it very much myself. I just found it really predictable, which for a mystery novel isn't a good thing.

Death Note was probably my favorite manga, and the anime was pretty amazing too. They are releasing the manga in Black Edition, where they combine two volumes into 1 http://www.jean-wich.net/wp-content/gallery/death-note-black-edition-volume-1/death-note-black-edition-vol-1-2.jpg, and they gave it a pretty kick ass look. So far they have only released 2 books, you can get them on amazon for only $10 I believe. It gave me an incentive to re-read the manga.

I have been keeping up with the manga Fairy Tail, have any of you heard of it?

Yes.

It was somewhat predictable, but I liked learning a little history.

I'm thinking of cosplaying next year as Hei (Darker than Black) but the cost doesn't seem to justify the few times I'm going to be wearing it.

Has anyone ever cosplayed before at a con before and how was your experience? In your opinion, was it worth it?

I

Love

Fairy Tail

Spoiler
Well mostly Lucy for obvious reasons :hubbahubba: :whistling:

I actually started reading Hiro Mashima's Rave Master quite a few years back just before they started the anime on Cartoon Network. I've kept up with quite a bit of the stuff he's done but Fairy Tail is by far my favorite. If you haven't read Rave Master do so (as well as his other works) because he does add in easter eggs (like Plue) to Fairy Tail and his other manga series.

Fairy Tail is the only, the only, reason why I have a premium account on Crunchyroll

I have some friends who have cosplayed and they really enjoy it. Unfortunately I couldn't pull it off so no cosplaying for me :sadvaultboy:

Yea I knew that Plue was a reference to Rave Master by a friend of mine haha, I will have to check out Rave Master then.

But yea, I am really enjoying the arc right now.

Spoiler
I have an odd suspicion that bluenote and gildartz are some how connected, I am almost positive that they will battle each other.

I finally bought my AX pass, bloody waited too long this year and it cost me. Everyone should go to AX this year and we can have a gamesas meetup and party :mohawk:

I've not cosplayed yet, but definitely will. It's expensive and time consuming, but totally worth it in my book. Cosplaying is just as much for the other people at the event as it is for you, keep that in mind. Other people really appreciate the effort you put into your cosplay to help the character come "more alive". I have friends who have cosplayed, as well as know one pro cosplayer, and they all love it. I'd do it too, but right now I have other more pressing priorities that take up my time and attention. One of these years, though, I'm going to do a Kotaro (from Negima) cosplay. I already know exactly what I'm going to do, just the costs and time consumption right now are not in-line with my goals.

I've cosplayed at Anime Central a few times. This year I'm going as Hazama from Blazblue: Continuum Shift. I say it's completely worth it! I make my own costumes, as that feels much more rewarding when you finish and wear it. I usually end up paying no more than $40-$50 on a costume. I think cosplaying at a con is much more fun than not going in costume because when I do, I feel like I'm surrounded by friends that are all into the same stuff I am.

So yes, it was very worth it. :)

Ditto. I would love to make a convincing Deadpool costume. I know, not anime, but still comic books and cartoons.

Well, of all the anime characters I would cosplay, I'd still want to make the costume. At least buy it and tweak it with more realistic fabrics and props, or something.

I think props are a good idea, as they are excellent for striking the large girls who cosplay the sixy characters, and then don't even try to act the part. I mean... What are you doing? I'd rather Man-Faye that fat Faye completely out of character.

Cosplay isn't just restricted to anime. I recall seeing an amazing cosplay of Ezio from Assassin's Creed.

True. I didn't mean think about video games earlier.

Thinking that way, I would LOVE to cosplay Dant from Devil May Cry. I already am carefree, and things work out great without even trying. I just need the hair, the clothes, and the sword and guns.

Got my Evangelion 2.22 Blu-ray today. <3

I'm a little annoyed that the styles (and sizes) of the 1.11 and 2.22 Blu-ray cases are different.

So you know: I bought a new camera just for AX. Still not an amazing one, but far better then the crappy one I had before.
