Slayers *TRY (TRI?)

TRY is correct.

C'mon Starwulf, you're the one with the Zel avatar.

Ehh, I always spell it Tri, just looks better to me. LOL. Also probably because the first time I ever heard of slayers tri(try) was when I was considerably younger, and Tri is how I envisioned it(due to legend of zelda and the Tri-Force), so I've always just stuck with it ^^

Me Loves Zel. When I was younger, and into certain activities not allowed to be discussed on these forums, Zel was my alternate ego.

I'm open to anime recommendations :)
I don't really like Comdey. I watched and absolutely loved Code Geass and Death Note. I have a thing for Sci-fi and Mechs. Comdey mixed in is nice (like Code Geass), but when the focus is comdey it just gets dull imo. Watched and liked Blood +.
Also, if theres any anime thats free to watch, and in German, that would be cool! I don't want to spend any amount of money on it, but I did take a German class awhile ago, and watching a German anime would be fun I think. And educational :) lol.

Hmm, I just caught the end of an interesting Sci-Fi Mech anime on SyFi itself, called Gurren Laggen. It's a shame I caught it at the very end of it, as it seemed quite interesting, svcks though, now I know how it ends, lol!

I noticed the show "Slayers" is on Youtube. my question is, What order is it best to see it?

Slayers
Slayers EVOLUTION-R
Slayers NEXT
Slayers REVOLUTION
(in order that Youtube searched)

or does it even matter?

thanks to anyone who can help

You're missing one there Rusty

The proper order is: Slayers, Slayers Next, Slayers Tri, and then I believe, Slayers Evolution followed by Slayers Revolution(I could be wrong with those last two, as I haven't seen the newest two seasons).

Thanks I didn't notice that I missed one when I posted earlier

after a bit of research the order seems to be
Slayers
Slayers NEXT
Slayers *TRY (TRI?)
Slayers REVOLUTION
Slayers EVOLUTION-R

* the spelling used on Youtube.

thanks again for the help

Don't forget the movies and OVAs! Those are my most favoritest of all of them! You simply must must must see them!

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q235/Lomoru/Slayers_Relations.jpg Infact I'd almost go and say to watch them all BEFORE the actual series.

I've recently bought DeathNote...can honestly say, it's one of the best Anime I've ever seen...having said that, the last Japanese Anime I watched was Ouran :)

Also, on the American side of things, I've just watched around 40 episodes of Aqua Team Hunger Force...sooooo good :D

Death Note is really good, though the first 'half' was the best... before *bleep* actually *bleeped*.

I just got Akira, I remember seeing it as a kid once, maybe now i'll understand it, saving it for a special night.

I actually really really liked the ending. I was in awe with what happened, it was one of those ending where you just sit there for a few and take in all that happened.

Lol, I realize a lot of people hate the ending, but the way I seen it
Spoiler
Ryuk said he would be the one to write Light's name down, which he was. And the way it ended, at least for me was like "Wow, this REALLY could have happened..." Ryuk just let Light do what he did, and then at the point where things would have taken a huge change, he killed him off. If Light lived, then crime would be nearly none-existant, and Light would be the 'god'. But considering he was killed, the world continued as it was.. Or is.

I don't believe that's what happened btw.. I'm just saying, that was the first thing I thought about when all that happened :)

I was rather disappointed with Death Note as well(the ending, I loved the anime itself).

Spoiler
I honestly thought that if L wasn't the one to catch Light, then no-one should have at all. Those two snot nosed brats should have stood no freaking chance of catching Light. Honestly, I would have been happy to see the series pared down(but added to), and had a nice sequence where L actually won. I was so sad when he died :-(

On another note, I'll second the OVA/Movies of Slayers. Naga the witch...omg, the laugh alone is going to drive you nuts, but she's a hilarious character!

I hated L, I considered him an antagonist. His death was my favorite scene. :hubbahubba:

Spoiler
If you considered L to be an antagonist, what did you consider the two that followed in his footsteps? They just irked me in every way possible

It definitely helps to be older when you watch that. Or at least, to rewatch it several times. :P

I dunno if you're using the anime term loosely (in the title) or not but to get technical I hate anime... but I love manga.

Well only one manga ... Naruto.

Yeah yeah laugh it up.

Laugh it up.

Even though my philosophical opinions don't match up with what the moral of the story seems to be at this point, I still like it. The Naruto universe is pretty cool.

If you enjoy naruto you will no doubt enjoy other manga, and if you watch naruto the anime and enjoy that you'll no doubt like other anime too. Just need to be exposed to the right ones!

I will definitely second this. I will also fully and freely admit that I love Naruto. Both the original and Shippuden. I think if you enjoy Naruto, I would suggest giving Rurouni Kenshin a try(I'm pretty sure my spelling is off ><). It's not ninjas, but it does involve a lot combat against people with a lot of varied types of skills/combat abilities, much like Naruto.

That's a good price on the boxset. It used to be like $120+ on Amazon, although I got mine on ebay for something like $35.

It's not necessary to watch the movies first though. I actually watched everything chronologically, starting with the first season, then the first movie, and so on. That may be confusing though, because the movies and OVAs are all different from the series. The main series is Lina and Gourry and crew saving the world from certain destruction, while the movies and OVAs are Lina and comedic sidekick Naga running around getting into trouble. :P

Death Note below:
Spoiler
I like the part about L losing to Light, not because I prefer a character over the other, just that I like seeing antagonist winning for a change, and making the situation more desperate for the future protagonist. Then Near and Mellow came into the scene.

Blah.
