Freezing has the most annoying protagonist, if there's a big red button saying "DON'T PRESS, IT WOULD LAUNCH NUKE," I bet he's the first one to press it after reading it and being warned for it.

Haha, that makes me think of a scene from After Story with
Spoiler
Fuko
.

Also, I watched Summer Wars this morning and I really liked it. It's most likely one of my favorite movies now. Sort of what I expected seeing that I loved Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo.

Series wise, I watched two episodes of Beelzebub last night. It's pretty funny, but the excessive electrocutions could get annoying. I'm hoping that they start to slow down. :P

I enjoyed that series. The story is pretty ordinary, and from what I remember the ending is inconclusive, but the atmosphere is awesome. The gentle pace, the slow character development and the overall feeling of melancholy that permeates the whole series makes it significantly more than just a sum of its parts.

I ended up really liking the series. The story really picks up at about the 15 episode or so and then stuff happens really quickly.

As far as the ending:
Spoiler

Yes it did end inconclusively...kinda. It's not like it pulled a Spice and Wolf Season II where it's like a "that's it" moment but it actually gives some closure while remaining open to interpretation. Still it's an acceptable ending.

Are there any other anime that are kinda similar to Witch Hunter Robin or is that pretty much it?

Also, I might start Trinity Blood as I see it is available on Hulu. I didn't really watch it when it was on Cartoon Network but it never looked like something I'd be interested in.

I've had Trinity Blood in my Plan-To-Watch for some time. I've heard good things about it. I think I remember hearing how there was supposed to be more parts to it from where Yoshida(?) passed away. I could very well be wrong, though.

Hmm, the closest I can think of would be Darker than Black. It's not quite the same feel, but close enough and very good in its own right.

Well that probably would have been the next thing for me to watch...

Except it looks like Hulu pruned it down to four episodes :(

Hmm I think they have that on Hulu so I'll check it out if they haven't pruned that too

You can try Ergo Proxy, same director, same character designer, but writer from Ghost in the Shell, Wolf's Rain, Casshern (movie version) (of course, he worked on other series before, but these are similar to the tone of Ergo Proxy).

Hulu isn't the only place that streams .. just one of the only ones we can talk about. :P Also, it seems that the episodes were released in groups of four or something so that could be why Hulu has it like that. They only stream the first group.

I watch it sometimes, but I don't really like it very much. It's nice that they at least tried to do a different take on the typical teenagers fighting demons shounen, but drawing boxes around demons and then exploding them just isn't bad ass at all. I'ma kill you with ASPLODING GEOMETRY! :P

Glad real episodes of Bleach are back on, rather than the crappy filler arc they just finished. Amagai looked cool and all, with his dragon claw lightsaber thingy, but the whole arc was just awful. Not that Bleach is amazing or anything, but the difference in quality between the filler arcs and the real arcs is huge. svcks that the first two episodes here have been 90% recap episodes because they had to take the break for the awful filler arc.

Yeah, tell me about it. Filler arcs are so annoying >< Why couldn't they have played that during the nearly year of no new bleach episodes?! Looking forward to the upcoming episodes. I've unfortunately spoilered myself through tvtropes, so I know a good portion of the upcoming stuff, and just from reading it, it sounds abso-[censored]-lutely EPIC. Especially somewhere near the end of Ichigos fight with Nnoitra, I can't wait to see occur what I've read about ^^

I actually really like Kekkaishi. I more envision the Kekkai as Spiritual Force-fields then Geometric cubes ^^ It also has the benefit of having a fairly unique storyline + powers which is a big plus in my book.

On another note, I can't wait till I have some spare money, Reaaallly want to buy Slayers:Evolution(or is the 4th one revolution?). Slayers is among my Top 3 Anime series and I've been going nuts knowing that the 4th series has been out for nearly a year now and I still haven't been able to buy it.

I like Kekkaishi, it brings about a new way to fighting. Comparing the first season of Kekkaishi with others like Bleach or Naruto or... I would gladly choose Kekkaishi as the better show.

I started watching Eureka Seven and I'm definitely digging it 22 episodes in. Has some spots that are boring, but it looks like it's going to be pretty deep. ^.^

I watched the first couple of episodes on advlt swim when it first came out

I couldn't get into it mainly because it seemed like the main character was a whiny little brat. It could have just been that it was the dub but I haven't looked at the series since.

I don't really like the dub of it. The first couple episodes I switched audio to see which I liked more and it was the sub. It's mediocre for the first 10 episodes, really. I've never been into mecha, so that's why I was hesitant, but it's turning out okay. :D

Anyone else watching some of this season's simulcasts? I'm digging both Beelzebub and Gosick. Watched the six episodes on CR with a friend last night and it's very enjoyable. ^.^

Watched the first episode of Beelzebub and Infinite Stratos. I enjoyed the first episode of Infinite Stratos considerably more than I thought I would.

My love for mystery is the only reason I found myself watching this irritating loli anime.

My love for robots is the only reason I found myself watching this ridiculous harem anime.

IS started pretty good. The protagonist seemed to be less of a pansy than other harem leads. Too bad he ended up being just as dense, maybe even gay (not a bad thing, it would be actually pretty original and funny, but totally not fair having a harem that he takes no interest in; yeah, I'm jealous). I hear the new character is pretty HHNNNNNGGGGGGG though. :)

I keep putting off watching IS and just watch Eureka Seven instead, but I'll get to it eventually. Also, Beelzebub gets better after each episode because the shocks go down in numbers to rarely ever happening. I think it gets better at ep3+

My FLCL Blu-ray came today and I'm pretty happy with the transfer. It's an upscale, but one of the better ones I've seen. Extremely clean, clear picture 90% of the time and while my sound system isn't anything to brag about, it sounds great.

Best of all you don't have to spend hundreds on a legit box set anymore. :P Now if only someone would license SDF Macross, because that Complete Collection is impossible to find, and with Volume 7 out of production buying each DVD separately seems pointless.

Funimation? If so, I saw that the other day. Didn't get it, though, because FLCL never appealed to me.

FUNimation's been on a roll lately. The svckered me into buying Spice and Wolf because of the inclusion of http://blog.funimation.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/spiceandwolfcoin.jpg (It should be noted: I already own Spice and Wolf, but I couldn't say no to that coin). A lot of the stuff they've been releasing lately have had awesome extras. They gave away a window decal with Eden of the East, and a keychain with the movie (as well as Durarara). I'm hoping they'll announce some extra for Evangelion 2.22, since I already have that preorded (though, like FLCL, I don't think they are going to offer anything since it's so popular)

The coin (WHICH IS AWESOME!!!!) along with some other anime I ordered arrived today for me too ^_^

I finished Eureka Seven the other day. Never really been 'turned on' by mecha, but the series was really good. Did a great job at holding my attention for all 50 episodes. Kudos to them. I also started watching Hourou Musuko with a friend of mine and it's pretty enjoyable. It's definitely changing my perspective on people that cross dress.
