Okay, stupid question. Is Torchlight good? Is it good enough to be worth $20.00? Is it just a diablo-clone with pretty graphics and no redeeming value? The only hack-and-slash I really like is Titan Quest, due to the vast character class variety and the ancient civilizations, armor, weapons, and mythology, as well as the diverse and lush landscapes.
I do not want an addictive game, nor a game that is only fun if I play online with people. If there is no compelling first person campaign, then I won't want it.
Spoiler There damn well better be a good single player campaign. (considering Torchlight has no multiplayer.
)
But seriously: It feels very empty from what I have played of it. It's a game that really begs for multiplayer, since there is no compelling story except to grind for gear and go deeper into the dungeon. I like how the levels are randomly generated, but I
don't like how they never regenerate. In Dark Cloud 2 for PS2 I spent hours grinding up my weapons in the random dungeons, but in this game once you complete a floor you have to walk through the same enemy-less level each time you revisit it.
Maybe they regenerate later on, I dunno, but I found the game too boring to even play for more than a couple of hours.
Xenogears? thats like $40 used.
Oh Xena Warrior Princess....
Thought the same thing. :laugh:
