Rent it,it's a very hit or miss game..if you liked God of War you should get some enjoyment out of it.

I like God of War, but I just don't see how I could look past the rotten character design of "Dante" and laughably oversized scythe. Oh, right, and the shuriken holy cross.

That's because it's not his scythe. He killed death and took it from him.

Yes, but scythes don't look like that, and they'd make pretty rubbish weapons compared to the more refined killing implements (e.g. swords).

And killing death? How does that even work? :shakehead:

Yahtzee's review was rather amusing.

At the start of the game (or what I assume is the start from playing the demo), Death comes to take Dante and he basically says "Screw this" and then proceeds to give Death a beatdown and takes his scythe.

I couldnt resist. I got both Dante's Inferno and the God of War Collection today.

Dante's Inferno rules your face. I see where all the God of War similarities are, obviously, but it also has a very fast pace almost similar to Ninja Gaiden and I also get kind of a Castlevania: Curse of Darkness/Lament of Innocence vibe from it, from all the item equipping and whatnot.

So, to anybody wondering, Dante's Inferno is indeed any good. :P

I might have to get Dante's Inferno when June get's here---I got FF 13, Lunar, Manga Studio's Debut 4 (I need to get back to work on my YouTube project :P ) and a Wacom pen, pad and mouse (for my computer graphics) all lined up for buying.

So I'm thinking of trading Assassin's Creed II for Mass Effect 2

So before I did I just wanted to ask how different is it from the first one and if it's as good

Is the storyline longer than Mass Effect's? Just give me a good comparison and whether or not Assassin's Creed II is a decent trade for it.

They're probably about the same length doing the bare minimum to advance the story, but the bulk of Mass Effect 2's story is much more focused on your teammates rather than some grand scheme. That being said, the characters are strong, and I liked it just as much as the first because of it. They make up for any shortcomings in the main quest's story.

The combat is streamlined, it's improved on the clunky shooter mechanics the first game had (according to some folks, I preferred the first game's gameplay). There's less customization at face value, mostly in regards to the weapon selection, but the game fleshes out abilities and weapons rather well as the game goes on.

Overall I'd say it's no better, no worse than Mass Effect, just slightly different. I did about 95% of the quests in 38 hours, 1-2 of those may be attributed to the occasional AFK. I can't comment on Assassin's Creed unfortunately, haven't played it.

Nope pretty mmuch the same, its less repetative but lacks replay value so its more of a rental.

Is Spellforce 2 worth the 7.50 on steam? It has the expansion too I think but never really heard of the game before.

Risen for the 360?I heard the PS3 port was bad but the PC version was a solid game.I am hoping that the extra time made the 360 version better.

I disagree. I think it does have replay value.

Well the only replay value is that after you beat the game you can play it again and find the missing codex. It feels more like a chore instead of playing it over for fun. IMO, keep ME2 and wait for the awesome DLCs to come out.

I just realized my mistake

I meant I'd be trading ACII for ME2

Hate to be annoying but one of the online stores in New Zealand is having a sale on games and such, if anyone would be obliging to look through http://www.mightyape.co.nz/sale/29/End-of-Summer-Game-Sale/?nt=1 it would be much appreciated. Specifically looking for 360 and PC titles. :)

Funny I was looking at that yesterday.

Is BioShock any good? I played the demo at 2AM last night but I got freaked and quit when that guy was finished getting ripped apart.

Yes, it's very good. But I wouldn't recommend playing it at 2 am, there are a lot of creepy moments in the game. Like every time a Splicer jumps out at you from nowhere, for example.

What are all the enemies? big daddy is the only enemy I know of. I'm guessing a splicer is the enemy you see when your coming down the elevator.

You have Splicers, Big Daddys, Rosies, and various robots. That's pretty much it. And yeah, the Splicers are the things that look like humans.

You guys actually think BioShock is scary? It didn't even occur to me that it was trying to be scary. The only parts were the beginning where the guy gets killed by the splicer, and the dentist's office with the tonic in the medical pavillion (not the Steinbeck fight). Anyway, I highly recommend that game. I've played through it a probable seven times and loved it each time. Just know that the first one is better than the second, so you should definitely pick that one up first (that, and the second's story won't make sense otherwise).

Is dragon age origins any good. does have a similar game world to tes, and is there a great amount to explore away from the main quest. It's made by bioware i think, so its should be a good game, because its from the same devs who made Mass Effect.
