You guys actually think BioShock is scary? It didn't even occur to me that it was trying to be scary. The only parts were the beginning where the guy gets killed by the splicer, and the dentist's office with the tonic in the medical pavillion (not the Steinbeck fight). Anyway, I highly recommend that game. I've played through it a probable seven times and loved it each time. Just know that the first one is better than the second, so you should definitely pick that one up first (that, and the second's story won't make sense otherwise).
Yeah, I would get BioShock 2 first but I really want the story to make sense so I'll get the first one.

I don't think it's scary, but I do think it's creepy. Every noise seems to be made to freak you out. Like the security turret, for example. Everything's silent, then all of a sudden you hear a BRRIING BRRIING BRRIING and one of the little buggers comes around a corner to shoot you. Or when a splicer jumps down from the ceiling. The game itself isn't scary, but it has many creepy moments.

Is dragon age origins any good. does have a similar game world to tes, and is there a great amount to explore away from the main quest. It's made by bioware i think, so its should be a good game, because its from the same devs who made Mass Effect.

It is not similar to TES, and there's not a lot away from the main quest. It's broken up into smaller areas, which you access by clicking icons on the map. There are some side areas, mostly if you have DLC; if not, you're going to be going to all the same areas in each playthrough. There are a number of sidequests scattered about all those areas, though, and it should be noted that even without the TES-style "free world" it will take 50-60 hours. It has many comparisons to other Bioware RPG's (Mass Effect, KotOR, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, etc).

Is the Witcher really all that great? I saw it for 20 bucks and was just wondering.

I liked it. It's probably one of my favorite games.

I had a bit of a hard time getting into it in the beginning. Something about the dialogue just didn't seem right (and the fact that you had to go to the other side of the counter to talk to the inkeeper. Seriously, games! Get it right!). Other people say it got worse as it progressed, but I'll have to disagree.

I liked it mostly because it was a deviation of the tolkienesque fantasy and more of a traditional folklore fantasy, which was absolutely awesome.

Does DA: O have an engaging storyline then? Mass Effetc is very story driven and epic, which is fresh from the open world of TES and FO 3. Is this similar in epicness and fun to play.

Ive also read you can play as different races, can you choose to be a dwarf archer, or is each race restricted to certain class types? (melee range etc).

Yes, it's somewhat similar to Mass Effect 2. But it depends on which lore you prefer. DAO feels more like a book and ME2 feels more like a movie.

I just realized my mistake

I meant I'd be trading ACII for ME2

Yes. Get ME2. Now. I strongly encourage it.

I played Tomb Raider: Legend and really enjoyed the character interactions of Lara and her tech crew. I'm playing TR: Anniversary, and find I miss the character banter; the game feels so quiet and boring. I'll still play through it, of course, but I was wondering if any of the other TR games offered a similar experience to Legend. How was Angel of Darkness? Any of the older PS1 games?

Is Call of Duty: World at War any good? I thought the demo was fun, just wondering if the whole game is good.

Oh, and what about Grand Theft Auto IV? Is it as good as people say it is?

Don't bother with WaW,not enough people play it these days for you to do much multiplayer, and the single player isn't too amazing,Nazi Zombies is fun though..worth it if you can find it cheap I guess.

GTA is pretty fun, though it's mainly for driving around randomly and blowing things up/killing people.

Well, I'm guessing by your avatar you like BioShock 1 & 2, so, which one do you think is the best? and is the multiplayer any good in 2?

Underworld was very fun, but somewhat disappointing to me in terms of continuing the story from Legend. :(

Still a good game though, but the series should have been a trilogy rather than cramming it all into two games.

The multiplayer in BioShock 2 is actually very fun. I still like it.

So should I get BioShock 1 first or 2? I've played the demo of the first and I think it's awesome.

It can go either way really. Play the first and you'll understand more of the connections or don't and just understand the story from the second. Either way the story is still awesome.

I don't think one is better than the other. I haven't played the multiplayer much but it doesn't svck.

If you don't want to buy it, rent it. ;)

They're both stand alone games really, but the second has references to the first.

I've read that the PS2 version of Underworld is absolute garbage compared to the other platforms it was released on. What platform did you play it on?

I think I'll rent Angel of Darkness and see if I like it. I'm having a hard time liking Anniversary - not much in the music department, and it is so bloody quiet (the only character pvssyr is brief, and only with bad guys) all the time, I started talking to myself to liven things up. :cryvaultboy:

Currently plunging Lara to her untimely demise as I try to navigate both an unintuitive terrain path and a craptastic camera. :meh: The quick time events svck compared to God of War's QTE's. Even TR: Legend had nicer QTE's. *sigh*

Wondering if anyone could offer some advice on Fable II. I enjoyed Fable, albeit very short, it was a great game.
Brother in Law has Fable II, wondering if it's worth a play through? I'd ask him but, he hasn't played it yet.

It's an amazing game,I'd recommend the PS3/Xbox version over PC,though.

Get it on the PC if you don't have another option.

This.

And if you're willing to risk life and limb for a challenging experience, try Jakob's Cove(Add-on). Endless fun!

@Betrayer of Humanity:

With Fable II I found a few things that bothered me along the way. The combat doesn't seem to flow as well as it did in the first game. I died nearly every time I fought with bigger groups of enemies , and if you die, rather than having to reload a save, you simply lose experience. To me this seemed almost god-like. The magic is a bit buggy. Rather than selected buttons for spell-slinging, it's charged based. Where one button is held for a duration of time, based on which spell the players wishes to cast. So that you can only cast one of you stronger spells without swapping which spell will be cast last. There didn't seem to be any powerful armor that everyone went after and althought it may have seemed like a brilliant idea, the online experience was terrible. Co-op can be a little fun but proved to be a test on my nerves as camera control was iffy. Overall, I'd give the game a 6.5, maybe 7.

Fable II is pretty good. The achievements are easy and the story is interesting and will keep you around for 4-5 playthroughs. It's also good for the gamer that likes to collects fancy things like the Legendary weapons, not to mention the game world is gorgeous.

I agree with this. The things I mentioned just slowed me down too much. I've beaten the game twice and am currently on my third playthrough, but then, I've had the game for nigh on 3 years now.

I found the game fun, but the story was pretty generic and bad. I don't think I would play it again, ever. I already bought every single property, and there's nothing else to really do after that.

After accomplishing all that there's nothing left to do really. Online play only milks the game where everyone keeps asking about some sort of mythic or legendary crap I can't really remember. I do plan to beat it this third and final time and stow it in the, "games I beat but don't play anymore" section of my videogame case.

Edit:

Has anyone tried Assassin's Creed 2. I have it. But I'm beating the first one before I delve into it. My girlfriend's bro beat it in literally 2 or 3 days. I wanna try it, but not until I beat the first one. Is there anything I should expect or unexpect?!? 0.o

I think the question is 'has anyone not played AC2?'
