That's interesting, Vivienne is probably my favourite character.

While she's not my favorite she definitely ranks up there.

I captured my second keep last night.

Spoiler
The keep in Emprise du Lion, the one where you have to fight two infected giants, a behemoth, and Imshael, a demon. Not at the same time, thank [censored], but I had to repeatedly restock my potions. It took me about an hour to capture it.

Does anyone else find the forced side quests thing kinda annoying? It's just a way of artificially prolonging the games story through tedium. Does anyone enjoy doing them? I mean, i'm craving to see what happens in the story next and i can't until i collect 5 bear asses.

I actually like the side quests. I stay away from the obvious ones that are fetch X bear pelts. And complete it if I come across X number of bears. But I'm not going to go out of my way for quests like that.

Same. I spent way too long in the Hinterlands doing side quests. :P And I have yet to kill the darn high dragon there too.

Don't get me started on how tough that High Dragon is. Fought him twice already. Wish the Skyrim Dragons were as tough as that guy is.

Question for you guys. Have you encountered any qusets that can't be completed or started due to a bug? I have the option to promote a new leader for the Templars. I'm on my phone so I can't use spoiler tags properly. So I can't say all that much. But I'm supposed to do that in the throne room yet I can't find any markers or activatables. Pretty sure that last one isn't a word but that's what I'm using.

She. The high dragons are female in Dragon Age. Male dragons are called drakes. They're smaller and don't have six appendages; they're like wyverns in that they have two wings and two legs.

This technically doesn't count as I could complete it but...

Spoiler
I have yet to do the quest that involves Hawke because of the voice bug, because my Qunquisitor has the British VA option. I could choose default Hawke but... :(

Other than that, not yet.

A lot of the side quests are shallow, but a fair amount are tied into the story, so it eases the pain, at least for me. So far the only ones that really bother me are the requisition quests, where they ask you to fetch 20 each of two herbs, or minerals. Then you complete it and they ask you to do it again, apparently repeating forever.

Skyrim's cliff racers, I mean dragons, had more varied behavior, though, or at least a much more flexible "boss fight formula". DA:I's dragons are too much (for me) arcade/boss battle style and loop through a very narrow range of behaviors. The cliff racer remark above was about it being nice to not have to engage in EPIC DRAGON FIGHT for the fortieth time. I agree that they (or some of them) should have been tougher, but it got old for me after a while, and being able to quickly put them down eventually became a feature. ;)

I've had one quest (help Fairbanks patrol), that was messed up in about every way possible. Both the game and I seemed to quietly agree that the best thing to do was to pretend nothing happened and just move on. I've also had a couple of items that were impossible to interact with, from any zoom-level or angle. Nothing broken in any major quest so far, though.

Just a crappy old 19 or 20 inch television. It is likely over 20 years. I got it only for $10 a couple of years ago.

If you wanna buy, one of those next-gen consoles, it would be nice to have a FullHD Television. !!!

Likely what I am going to do is get a 24 inch 1080 p monitor and plug in the console to it. So I can still watch tv and play a console game. If a 27 or 32 inch is available I might get one of those.

I wonder if I have enough funds before Christmas and if a PS4 is in stock, I do want to get DA:I and my laptop is not good enough to play it.

Just keep your laptop for other tasks, and buy the game for the PS4. So, you haven't to worry about drivers and other strange Windows behaviours.

If your only concern, is to watch TV and playing games, a regular TV at 1080p would be just fine. So nothing fancy, you know.

Well I finally romanced Cassandra. It was nice. Tip though, if you do try to romance her and do the quest you have to..to romance her. When you go to talk to a dwarf to get a book do not back out from that quest. I had to go back to a save that was 25 minutes old and re-do crap because the dialogue never popped up again.

Today I bought an Xbox 360 and bought the game for it and it is installing right now. I also got a few other great games as well. Finally I can play Diablo 3 offline sadly it is not the expansion.

Likely I will take a long time to get on the main mission since I likely will ignore most of it and just explore.

DA:I is working quite well, Just need a larger TV since I can only read some of the larger text.

Nah - they are easy to pick up, easy to ignore and easy to complete while I am running about doing other things.

I love the Ocularums and the Astrat... shard locators, though I think the one in the Western Approach may have bugged for me.

I finally went back to Hinterlands and killed my first dragon. And even though I was easily four or five levels over it, it was a tough fight. It didn't help that Cassandra Charging-bulled herself right off a plateau. Heh. She showed back up. Note for anyone going to kill a dragon - make sure Iron Bull is in your party and talk to him afterwards in Skyhold. Hilarious.

I am enjoying all the companions this time around. I solved my non-romance with Blackwall - we did his quest

Spoiler
and he shows up in my Inquisuitor's room and was all "I want you, we shouldn't do this... " blah blah blah... I could tell a woman wrote some of the dialog because for once, my character actually had the opportunity to get annoyed and tell him to stop trying to put the burden on her (he was all moody and saying he shouldn't do this, so you get a choice to kiss him or end the "romance" - which wasn't really a romance at all yet anyway. It was good to have my character say "Oh, for [censored]'s sake, this is ridiculous, break up with me if it's so stressful don't have me do it for you! (well, I am paraphrasing a bit.) >

Better luck next time, Blackwall. I couldn't get past the beard and mustache, sorry!

I don't mind Vivienne, but she is the character I am using least, since I am a mage character, and of the other mages, Dorian is pretty funny and Solas has heals. Vivienne is basically the same specs as me, including specialty. But I like her pragmatic and somewhat snooty attitude, it's kind of refreshing.

Ha! Cassandra. Sometimes the party tactics can be wonky. Still need to kill that Dragon.

Minor Main Quest spoilers

Spoiler
Just finished Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. In which you save the empress. Brought Iron Bull and Varric. Had some interesting conversations. Danced with Cassandra that was fun, though the whole quest was tedious.

Now some bug spoilers.

Spoiler
I still can't seem to be able to promote Sir Barric, of the Templars. If you sided with them. There's no option to sit in the throne nor is he in the castle.

As far as Companions. Solas is my least favorite, I don't mind Vivienne, then again I don't speak to her much. I try to use every companion, I've found that for most quests any combination works well enough, I've had a party of all Mages and they work just fine. Though I'd never experiment during a main battle. Also some companions have special dialog now and then during quests. Like

Spoiler
Dorian if you fight alongside the Quin during Iron Bulls mission.

I bet that was Mary Kirby. She and David Gaider have done much of the writing for all the Dragon Age games. She's an excellent writer.

Minor spoilers, for a very minor scene with Varric. No story spoilers though.

Spoiler
I really liked that one scene where Varric tells you to come along and follow him. Turns out, he gathers you and most of the Inner Circle, and you just play cards, and tell stories around a table at the Skyhold tavern. It really looked as if the entire team was bonding - something that I dind't notice being done in Origins or DA2. I really appreciated the scene, it was well done, had nice comedic effect and made the cast feel as if they were actual people - and not constantly sad, or concerned about the war going on and that they also need time to relax, and enjoy themselves.

LOL. Thanks for that, I was wondering what little gremlins were inside it and now I don't have to take it apart to find out! :D Only a couple of hours into the game and really enjoying it so far. Just kind of finding my way around the menus and generally enjoying the scenery at the moment but it definitely feels like the sort of game I'm going to get right into and spend a bit of time on.

Played the game for a few hours now and starting to find my way around the menus and controls ok. I have to say I think the game is visually quite stunning, not sure if that's because it's my 1st Xbox One game or whether it really is outstanding. Anyone else think it looks fantastic?
