[RELz] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch #2

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:08 am

Time to stop waiting then since 1.6 is working fine with ESP based mods.

I've been patiently waiting. I'm confident Quarn will let us know when he has an update. Give the man some time.

Maybe because this time there is a website to post bugs, but the interest doesn't seem to be as high as the Morrowind Unofficial Patch and the Oblivion Unofficial patch, despite there being plenty of bugs.

I was wondering if people/gamers have just accepted that we now have bugs in our games?

Does the version 1.1+ mean I can use the unofficial patch with newer official patches such as 1.6?

When he made this mod, 1.6 obviously wasn't out yet (and neither was 1.5 for that matter). So there are no guarantees that there won't be ANY conflicts. But I've been using it with patch 1.6, and so far haven't had any serious issues.

Don't forget to disable the 'VATS Fix'.

I just did some rough testing, and it seems that UFP is the cause of the premature nuka-cola GNR announcements, and possibly the 'news intro' looping as well (though this is less sure). I sent off a quick PM on fallout3nexus to the contact given on its posting there, but I figured I might as well make it known here as well.

Did some testing involving mod-elimination, and both problems only seems to appear with UFP enabled, with one exception - I got the looping once without UFP, but six times with (out of 20 trials, respectively).

My fix was to use FO3Edit to remove all references to GNR from the esp, and use a GNR-fix specific mod to deal with the issues that UFP tried to fix. No issues thus far.

Maybe after Quarn's long silence we will be greeted with an updated version upon his return.

another bug. Head of state, Hannibal 239dd
i went to Lincoln memorial and killed the slavers there without talking to them. they started shooting on my bots. got confirmation that area was cleared after clearing minefield.
went to museum of history and got lincoln items and returned to Hannibal and confirmed they were leaving for Lincoln memorial
they showed up at subway but they will not go to the Lincoln memorial
i tried using prid to call him there and talked to him. The quest didn't update and he left the area.
i did notice that sila's body and the other slavers was missing and walker's body was still there

did quest a 2nd time, found 6 slavers besides walker & silas. I got update that area was clear after last of slavers were dead and didn't clear the mine field. talked and killed silas and walker inside maintenance room under memorial. Hannibal finalized quest as soon as i talked to him and subway entrance. beth fixed the rake and Hannibal when he pulls his gun.

i am patched to 1.5 and have all 3 DLCs in offline mode.

That quest is notorious for having bugs. I had the same thing happen to me and I had to restart the quest from a previous saved game. I'm looking forward to the day when Quarn gets that quest sorted out.

For both of you guys, there is a plugin called "Head of State Fix" found here http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3572 Solves the problem you are having perfectly, I have tested this and so I know. Good luck!

I'm still around guys just taking a bit of a break from modding (burnt out) by playing games I can't mod :P

Yes the bugtracker has been a great help in keeping everything organized, nearly 400 reports with alot of them have more replies too. Maybe up to thread #6 without it.

When UF3P is used with PimpBot's GNR Extender mod (or GNR -- More Where That Came From since the author merged GNR Extender into it) this problem happens. PimpBot didn't fix the bug correctly with the nuka cola but I did and since I had to do it differently this conflict happens.

Since my little hiatus from Fallout 3 I've started and finished Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope, Prototype and Mass Effect... I think I'll start getting backing into the full swing of things once Mothership Zeta is released.

ha ha this is both hilarious and sad at the same time. it reminds me so much of gsc and stalker. gsc did lil to fix stalker. it was more or less left up to the community to fix stalker and what did work gsc would basically steal and add it to official patches. even then said patches would break something else. it is fact. if not for moders stalker would have never been as popular as it was..

im just glad i had good sense enough not to buy clear sky and will never give gsc another dime.. i will never give bethesda another dime either.. i learned my lesions with gsc and ea.. i do not support buggy junk companies and well. bethesda is just like gsc and ea and they can care less.. and i will skip wolfenstein too..

take care.. see ya :coolvaultboy:

Yes Bethesda pathetic game support and shoddy buggy patches piss me off too... I am one person fixing bugs in my free time\when I feel like yet I manage to easily out do them, still their RPG's are the best around even with the bugs IMO...

By the way guys I've updated the main post with the current v1.2.0 fixed list.

quarn

the community and i thank you for your FREE and hard work..

fo3 is 1 of my favorite games. the stock game and patch 015 runs pretty perfect for me. it rarely ctd. gfwl will not let me log on from the game. so i cant buy or play the dlc's. ya i could waste my time and money and buy a points card from targets [well i have no credit cards any way]. but then all i read is the dlc's might only half work. or i will have to delete the game and re install it and patch to proper patch per dlc and delete the game and re install and re patch for the next dlc or to play the stock game again. and even then. id have to move files around manually or use some 3rd party program i know nothing about or trust. and or need a degree in networking to try and figure out how to get gfwl to work and or play off line etc.. which i dont care about achievements.. i just want to install and my game work as it should.. i have the collectors ed. im just glad i did not pay but 49.99 for it. or id really be pissed off if i had spent 70 for it. i got it at c city as they went out of business..

but every patch and dlc or dlc on xbox or dlc on disc is nothing but problem after problem from all i read here and on other sites.. bethesda says in no patch info. if you have to install each patch alone and play just the dlc for it or if just the 1 patch 1.6 updates the game and includes all past patches.. which from what i read it does not. you have to install 1 patch play its dlc and delete the entire game and reinstall and patch to play the next or to play the stock game again.. which is crazy and sad to say the least.. i really mean no harm but bethesda has locked a few of my threads or threads ive posted in saying- im just ranting. and after some fan boy has attacked me personally. or some fan boy looks at my sig and see i build my own gaming systems and i guess he uses a dell out of box and has the nerve to say. i dont know how to build update install and play games or use a computer and its so many different computers and parts in the world is why fo3 will not work.. i just laugh what else can i do [they miss the fact the stock game and patch 015 runs good for me].. but its convenient for bethesda to lock or ban folks or have fan boys attack folks for them. and it seems fo3 only works as it should for bethesda moderators and the most hard core fan boys that will push hype and help to sell the game and the dlc's. which is pretty much the same thing gsc did on its site. but they let its moderators and fan boys get real nasty and cuss ya out or what ever and then ban or delete your posts etc..

im not ranting or trying to fight or cause problems.. i spent my money and the product i bought dont work right.. might i be a upset.. yes.. do i have the right to be.. yes.. am i the problem.. no.. a buggy half working product and a company with the attitude we might get to it when or if we feel like it is the problem. and they feel like they will get payed no matter what. some will buy even if it will not work at all and will push hype and flame for them to sell more and say his game works perfect [basically lie] but they need to feel like they belong to something and are to the word- a fan boy.. ha ha its so funny.. i both have to laugh and then feel sad. i love the game. and want all of the dlc's but only if my game works like it should. install and it just Magically Work Right and i can enjoy my self. or i have to be unhappy and take a loss and have a unplayable game like now. because i deleted it off of my computer. i do not buy from ea or gsc because of their reps with buggy junk and poor patches. and i have so many other games that work as they should.. so.

i have no money to waste. im poor and disabled. i go hungry to buy anything.. to buy half working junk.. well. its a sin to cheat me is how i feel about it period..

i wish all the best.. and thanks again for your FREE and hard work.. :coolvaultboy:

-The Pitt: Fixed the effect on Gamma Shield Armor not being named the same, changed "Lead-Lined Armor" to "Gamma Shield Armor" (Altered Object Effect: DLC01EnchMetalArmorLead).
-The Pitt: Fixed the effect on Filtration Helmet not being named the same, changed "Air Filtration" to "Filtration Helmet" (Altered Object Effect: DLC01EnchMetalArmorLead).

These don't sound like bugs. The Filtration Helmet supplies Air Filtration. The Gamme Shield Armor shields radiation because it is Lead-Lined. Seems like perfectly reasonable naming.

Mass effect was a great game IMO. My only complaint was there should have been a lot more territory (i.e. planets) to explore. Hopefully Mass Effect 2 will be larger.

Sometimes it is hard to tell if it is intended of not... I'd say about 95% of the effects have the same name as their item, it does make more sense if they are named the same so you actually know what item is giving you the effect without having to unequip items.

I was quite surprised to see it using the unreal engine. Decent enough game though a little short... Only clocked 31 hours to finish the entire game including all side quests and the DLC. Also majority of the side quests used the same old generic lay out.

One of these days I'll have to finish Mass Effect. I bought it a while ago and played around 5 hours worth but I am just so danged addicted to FO3 and Oblivion that Mass Effect just isn't grabbing my attention enough to pull me away. Every time I start to get satisfied, a FO3 DLC comes out. :P
