Unofficial Mafia II Thread

I like the little things from the first one. Like if you were speeding the cops would chase you. Or if you drove through a red light. Now I can pass a cop car at 108 mph and as long as I don't hit anyone I am fine.

Too bad :(

taking off the speed inhibitor and gunning the ol' model T pick up 'till she's hauling 45mph :o was the hoot.

it's partly because of the demo lack of programming
I've been caught several times for speeding by the police. The poster below you explained it

Just played the demo, this is a really fun game. Its alot like the Red Dead and GTA gameplay style, and i absolutely love it. Was Mafia I a good game?. well, this is a definite buy.

Also, in the demo, did anyone else find the aiming to feel a little odd? I dont know what it is, but it just doesnt feel right

Yeah, I don't dislike it, it just feels a little sluggish sometimes, and I hit oh so many lamp-posts... :D

I advise that you don't drive a real 50s car then. You'd probably get the same effect. :P

it might be because the game had no lock on, you had to physically aim yourself unlike Red Dead Redemption or GoW 2,

though there was something kinda odd about the aiming

I pre-ordered it, 6 more days.

I think they got the police perfectly, they aren't psychic is the most important thing to me. Also you are pretty close to dead if you get to many on you and your engine gives out in the middle of a highway. And to top it off if you break LOS they lose you in a chase, which adds an element of hope in a chase.

I stopped playing the demo and shooting at the police to start car chases so I wouldn't be bored of it in the final game.

The only thing I am disappointed about the game is there doesn't appear to be any difficulty settings, at least not in the demo.

I think I heard somewhere there will be three difficulty levels. Not sure where, though.

In the demo, there's a ten minute timer for free roam.
