WOOD? HERETIC! A true Dorf uses obsidian! :P

I wanted to piss off the elves. :P

Too bad, no elves in Minecraft.

I also appropriately burned the whole thing down by accident once.

Now I have something to look from my tower. (I asume you took that shot from there?)

Yes.

"And we should play a team game at some point, where we split into 2 teams, spend one day constructing a fortress, then the next day trying to destroy the other team's. " - theundoneone in the old thread

this would be awesome...

Where uh, do you get sticks?
I need a pickaxe, those stones ( I think) (under the ground) are WAY to hard to break through with the.. log thingy.
Okay, so that is your arm . :P

The series the narrator of this does on his channel is also a really good guide for how to play and it offers up lots of really cool design ideas as well

In my single player game I got lucky striking motherloads of coal today. In ONE 10 minute period (or however long day lasts) I gathered up 89 coal

I am finding huge chunks of coal lately. One of my storage chests (double one) is half full of 64 stacks of coal. I won't be lacking torches for a while, and that is enough fuel to run my furnaces for a long time.

Watching X's adventures in minecraft, from the beginning. He's fairly amusing and although I already know all the basics and whatnot, I figured it would be wise to watch them and gather some useful tips for later (like designing).

Aaaand time to call it a night. My 20x20xlots fortress is starting to take shape, thanks partly to my last run which saw only one of my eight furnace loads disappear. Would be further on if I hadn't accidentally blasted my way to the centre of the earth :P But, I've made a few compasses and left them in a chest by Wampbit's tower. First come, first served.

I have constructed a tower of glass that is floating about 25 blocks above the ground. The first floor of the tower is the crafting room. I have a crafting table, 2 furnaces, a random large chest, a large chest for cobblestone and a large chest for dirt. Up the stairs and you will enter the glass factory.

The glass factory has 6 furnaces, a large chest for glass that is currently full and a large chest for sand which is half full.

The third story houses a very small garden.

Up the ladder to the fourth, and final (at the moment) story, are two pools of water with soil on the edges of the tower. I have planted trees in the soil, one in the middle of each side. They have yet to grow. The trees I planted on the ground have grown into quite the treehouse, extending upwards into the sky just above my front door.

When I get back from work in the morning, I'll take some screenshots!

I would like to thank Nantucket for pointing out this game, I haven't had this much fun in a while!

He really should add elevators in or some sort of pulley system. Would be a pretty cool addition to the game.

Unless there already is one.

After sailing in my boat for almost an hour, I found a perfect spot. On top of a mountain overlooking the ocean I started to build my fortress. After spending an hour or two mining down into the mountain and getting resources, I decided to start building my fortress. The SECOND i opened my front door to start building I got blown off the mountain by a [censored] creeper. Hours of work for nothing :shakehead:

Sorry, but that's [censored] hilarious :)

This game really provides a lot of "oh [censored]" moments.

I usually play on peaceful mode, since I'm more into the building aspect than the endless waves of enemies.

See the enemies are what makes the game fun for me. Otherwise it's a grind, but when night falls you get nervous and there's a little bit of suspense in every action.

I really really wish they did something in multiplayer. As it is now you don't take damage from any source, and they can only be killed with fire. It's like cheating with god mode, and is lame. What would be awesome is having hordes of zombies come out at night to assault your position, slowly attacking walls and weak points. You and your allies are not able to place blocks at night, and must defend yourselves until the dawn comes.

I play on Hard mode. I mean, whats the point of building if you aren't trying to save yourself? A one layer dirt wall is no different from a castle unless there are enemies.

That's how I felt... until I lost all my diamond tools and stuff I was carrying, because my items didn't drop when I died. (they didn't despawn either, since I died a short walk away from the spawn point)

Well the game is still in alpha phase.

Well, i created a 4x4 mine shaft and just hit rock bottom, then i tried digging around it (the bed rock)and i fell into an ocean of blue blankness (not water, just a solid blue color) and died.

Also, could whoever the owner of the hamachi server is could they please let "pandaman2012" into the server the next time they're on? Don't know if they havent played multiplayer at all today but I submited my request to join like 9 or 10 hours ago :(
