See the enemies are what makes the game fun for me. Otherwise it's a grind, but when night falls you get nervous and there's a little bit of suspense in every action.

I really really wish they did something in multiplayer. As it is now you don't take damage from any source, and they can only be killed with fire. It's like cheating with god mode, and is lame. What would be awesome is having hordes of zombies come out at night to assault your position, slowly attacking walls and weak points. You and your allies are not able to place blocks at night, and must defend yourselves until the dawn comes.

I read on his front page somewhere that he is coming out with an Zombie apocalyptic mode along with CTF to expand multiplayer.

Today, I had an huge oh [censored] moment. I was digging a tunnel to my spawn. I was almost done, and was slowing digging my self up and out of water when I heard the "Ssssssssssss" I quickly ran back into down away from the noise and water to find out that two cows spawned right behind me. I couldn't move them and I turned around just in time to see the creeper, before it flooded a fair amount of my tunnel and left me running with half a heart left.
I cant imaging playing this game without them.

Had a bit of an annoying moment thanks to some creepers. While on single-player, two creepers approached me as I was leaving my mountain-top fortress to go and build my castle. The first one blew a hole in the corner of the foundation (still haven't fixed the floor, but did fix the foundation) while the second blew up the sky-light for my underground bedroom, causing it to be flooded by my gigantic glass water fountain. (ended up having to remove the water features, it caused too much lag)

I'm also working on my first major mine (my original mine was a series of single person tunnels beneath my mountain-top home), and the mine has a safety room at it's entrance. Getting bored, I decided to dig a single mine tunnel deep into the earth from the safety room, and discovered a huge series of caverns. Currently, I've explored a good portion of it, but there are still several un-explored passages and a huge pit that I assume empties into another large chamber.

At least in single player, I don't have to build deep underground with the entrance hidden under a lake just to prevent griefing. (actually did this once. Had the entrance to my house hidden in a sand and rock alcove at the bottom of a lake, and the entrance was a tunnel that went almost all the way to the bottom of the map. Never got griefed.)

After sailing in my boat for almost an hour, I found a perfect spot. On top of a mountain overlooking the ocean I started to build my fortress. After spending an hour or two mining down into the mountain and getting resources, I decided to start building my fortress. The SECOND i opened my front door to start building I got blown off the mountain by a [censored] creeper. Hours of work for nothing :shakehead:

Wait, you can build a boat? I need to figure that out...

Well, i created a 4x4 mine shaft and just hit rock bottom, then i tried digging around it (the bed rock)and i fell into an ocean of blue blankness (not water, just a solid blue color) and died.

Congratulations on your first trip out into the Ether :tops:

Okay - I just awoke and have approved all members - have fun!

[edit] Also some new Server rules (due to crashes and accidental fires):
1. Do not use loads of dynamite in one go, if you have dynamite (which you can get from careful killing of creepers with fire) only use a few blocks for mining - huge portions can cause major serverside instability and may have been the source of a save problem we had earlier.
2. Do not create random fires - such as setting trees on fire either to light an area or to light a path. Beacons and such are fine but we want to avoid the wooden parts of the map burning down :P.

[edit2]: @MrCrazyMonkey The server locally stores your log-out point, so you should spawn exactly where you were. And due to a lack of damage implementation you wont need to respawn at any time.

4 days and I can't find coal anywhere! I just want to create a torch (do torches run out eventually?).

EDIT: What are the odds that as I type this I find coal? lol

Loving this game.

Torches don't run out, yet. Notch will eventually make torches temporary lighting and replace permanent lighting with a harder to make Lantern which can also be hung from the ceiling.

Yo Minecrafters, imma let you finish, but I have found the best natural cave of all time. OF ALL TIME!

It is HUGE. You can explore it for very long I'm sure without even using your pick. I had to use /home to get out because I was totally lost and I didn't want to dig up to get out. I wanted to find the original exit. :P

These shots only show a small part of the cave. I'll show the way in tomorrow or so. Admins, don't abuse your powers to find it. :P

99% of this is entirely natural.

Not so much stuff in there actually. There was a lot of coal and red stones, and I found around 6 gold rocks in total, in groups of 2. No diamonds. Of course, this is all while exploring the cave while not digging, so I'm sure there's more.

Loving this game.

You should look around cliffs and other sharp features that expose a lot of stone. That's the easiest way to spot coal deposits.

:P I suggested that over at the Official Minecraft Forums... I was the first to do so, I wonder why nobody thought of that before. Tooltips would be nice.

So I have two bucketfuls of lava, brought up from the depths. Might make a volcanic area, just for kicks.

I did have some lava in my moat, but I had too many near-death experiences so I flooded it with water instead.

Also making a glass fountain in my castle's main room, hoping it goes as planned and doesn't flood the entire area instead haha.

Nope. I really suggest you buy the game, it's just 10 euros. IMO the demo is nothing like the game.

Torches stay forever. Also look for a mountain or any grey stone, its the fastest way to find exposed stone.
