Lazy oaf. I've finished my uni day, been to the supermarket to pick up dinner, student shop for paper etc, and been back in my flat for an hour!

I've joined the multiplayer.

It seems like the server timed out. Anyway, where should I go to get a permit so I can have my own home?

EDIT: I joined BGSF Minecraft #3 btw.

Is the music in this game randomly generated as well? I ask, because after playing in my first world for many hours, I decided to start another world fresh to get a change of scenery and I started hearing music I had never heard before in my first world.

Any ideas?

Working on a waterfront area for my castle. Got the light house built, as well as the docks. Just need to build the dockmaster's house, and maybe some random deco buildings (fish shops, perhaps, though I'd have no fish to display or people to catch them haha).

Finishing the moat on my castle... been avoiding this task for about a week now haha, but it'll look better in it's finished state.

Overall, my little 'medieval' village is coming together, will be building some wooden peasant houses and farms a little way away from my castle, with a road leading to it and growing my grain there (though I have yet to find any spawns of it...).

I will probably need to extend the land into the sea to the north, or flatten a few mountains to the south of my castle.

I'm enjoying this "free trial". Notch should do it more often :P.
Well, I had to abandon my first world because I didn't know you couldn't change spawn points, scrapped the second one because it was a frozen hell, but the third one looks promising. Right in front of my spawn there's a 20x20x80 pillar with visible iron and coal deposits, and just across the sea is a massive plateau with sheer cliffs along the shore. I can't decide to build a wizard's tower or a stronghold on the plateau.
Edit: Am I the only one who hates mining? Maybe it's because I dig a 2x2 hole to the bottom of the map, bit it just seems really boring. Maybe I'll change my style in the new world.

Minecraft suddenly got a LOT of players and Notch's server couldn't update properly during the last update and it killed his server. His updates also screwed a LOT of stuff up and he had to update the update twice. Also, the most recent server update screwed a lot of stuff up, which is why our MC server software isn't up to date.

Wampit also found the main reason for lots of lag even when theres only a few of us on. There's a memory leak. No fix yet.

Simple post here to say that I have sent a request to be accepted. :)
I've just bought the game yesterday night and I'm having a blast in the singleplayer survival mode. I'm curious to see how it plays in Multiplayer.

Yeah I could have some other background music I suppose.

I can't connect to multiplayer. Is there a way to change my ingame username?

Yeah, the plan was for me to take over hosting for a bit while Wamp was moving, but since I'm heading away for a few days soon, that's not really the best arrangement.

Anyway, they need to add an actual use for gold in this game. I just eagerly mined a whole load of it in single player, only to remember there's nothing actually worth doing with it.

Hey guys.

If you're having sound problems after the Minecraft update then I don't think you'll be getting it back anytime soon unless you manually add the sound back in.

When minecraft.net went down and everyones version of Minecraft updated, some files were not retrieved from the update server. More specifically C:\Users\>your username<\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft.\resources

If you're running XP It should be C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\.minecraft\resources

Check your resources folder to see if your sound and music files are there. If they are not, download this. It's the resources folder and files from my installation.
