Relighting 750+ torches even every few weeks is NOT FUN. Ill most likely switch to lanterns permanently making this torch thing pretty pointless.

I bought this game ten minutes ago and I'm already hopelessly addicted, and building a bridge across to the island which will become my home when I can find some rocks or something

Also, I'm already very proud of my little bridge. Is putting wood in water ok?

Pretty much like single player, but with other people running around, no damage (so we've disabled mobs for now), and redstone circuits don't work. And putting wood in water is fine.

I''ve just taken the server down to send the files to Wampbit for the new server. The world is quite large now. Mediafire is claiming 20 minutes uploading at just over 1000kb/s

I think I accidentally left another rar with an old save in there too though, but what the heck. Hopefully we'll have the new server running 24/7 from tomorrow.

Is it just me, or is it really hard to get a SP world that you can be happy with? I always end up with crazy things, and its almost imposable to find any flat land.

Yeah, any large expanse of flat land is really rare. Just wander around a bit and you'll find somewhere relatively flat.

Anyway, server files PM'd to Wamp so I'm off to bed.

Flat land is boring! But if you really want flat land, the first couple layers are usually dirt and pebbles which are destroyed wicked fast with a shovel.

I downloaded the server software today because me and some friends are having a LAN party next weekend and most of us are obsessed with Minecraft at the moment

(everyone except the die-hard counter-strike players, but no one likes those anyway)

Are you guys running any modifications to the server software? Because my server doesn't have any of the features I saw last night, I can't even configure a motd for new players or anything.

The only thing that can break obsidian is a diamond pick. TNT won't even scratch it.

Diamond Pick takes 15 seconds. Anything else will break it with no drop in 50 seconds. But you're right, TNT wont put a dent in it

Fixed! And I got a 'pro-rated refund' for the $1.60 we lost from 1 day less of server!
