So, uhh, I got New Vegas the other day and I guess I kind of ditched you all.

I'm still here though, and I'll try to remember to stop killing super mutants and play Minecraft every once in a while.

Like Cliffworms, I usually steal a fraction of what's in the storage box. I never leave a sign also.

Just because your stuff was stolen doesn't mean the thieves guild took it.

I'm lumping all the theives together, because they're all wastes of space in my opinion. I'd unleash a torrent of curses in your direction, but no one needs to read [censored] about 25 times in a row.

Needless to say, I find your actions beyond [censored], and I actively wish for horrible physical ailments in your future.

I'll be online some time today. I got a lot of work to do. I'm not sure about the weekend, I'll be traveling around without internet so...

Yea, I don't think Notch really updated his servers. He just said he did to make everyone shut up. It has gone down FOUR times this week already -_-

Massive DDOS attack by the nice folks over at IV Chan. :rolleyes:

Listen, admin guy, if you want people to continue coming to the server you need to do the following:

Start creating and using usergroups, most importantly create a 'Newbie' group with no privileges and set it as default so that people we don't know won't be able to mine anything or destroy anything. You'll then be able to move people up to a 'Member' group when we've verified their identity.
This might not be necessary if you do the above thing but you should consider it: Get http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1012&t=23483 and use the fire/lava anti-grief feature (can't light a fire and lava won't burn down wood)

There's nothing I can do with usergroups on my side - that would have to be Wampbit or Bonemonster. We're already using Llamamod, but the last load of griefers we had on managed to work round it somehow. We've not had any trouble since changing the IP and making it private though.

It's just editing the groups.txt file so anyone with access to the server files could do it.

I'm running it on my server and it works wonders. My spawn jail, or the newbie reception area as I like to call it, is made from wood and glass mostly but it still keeps the newbies inside because they don't have the right privileges to mine the blocks.

We'll just have to wait until they are bored.

EDIT: I just checked all the major /i/ boards. Definitely not them, one of the major ones even hosts their own Minecraft servers. Ugh, can't wait for this to be over. Hopefully it will be done with for my weekend.

Well the guy says he is not from the cesspool, and I have already confirmed he is not with the above boards. Whoever he is, he is a massive dike.

Also, look at the stats on the top left of mc.net, they have changed drastically. I wouldn't login to the site itself until this blows over, just to be safe.

Unfortunately that's never going to happen...

What Notch SHOULD do is get a dedicated minecraft server to handle logins so while the website is under attack people will still be available to log on to Minecraft ingame.

Nope. The attacks will be coming from probably thousands of computers (and IPs) worldwide, controlled by a Trojan. Impossible to track to the person behind it all.
